No i wasnt going to put west ham on anyway...i was going to take them out for sure. I almost just put the 4 fold on but threw Newcastle in.
-
MASSIVE FUCK!!! I took West Ham out as i wasnt confident with them and put Newcastle in there place. What was i thinking!!! 2-0 down at home to Hull and its going to cost me
-
1-0 Van Persie - superb goal! Walcott picked the ball up skinned 3 players then ran and laid it off for Van Persie who put a cool finish past Robinson. Walcott is on fire

2-1 Liverpool and they deserved it. Man Utd didnt have any ideas on the wings without Ronaldo. However it was 2 mistakes that gifted Liverpool both goals even though Liverpool out fought Man Utd in the 2nd half. Liverpool 10 pts out of 12 even tho they only deserve about 7 pts, but thats a good sign of teams who can win games when not playing well. Thats a big psychological victory now and Man U have got Chelsea next week.

I havent even thought about a coupon after the last few weeks, then just tuned into talksport and now I fancy Blackburn v ARSENAL FULHAM v Bolton West Brom v WEST HAM BIRMINGHAM v Doncaster RANGERS v Kilmarnock

Yip your spot on Craig, as I said should every Rangers fan live in Glasgow and every Man Utd fan live in Manchester?? Just because an opportunity came knocking our way to improve the 'Scottish Company" that employ us we set our sights higher to broaden our surroundings and tried living in other parts of the world. That no way suggests we moved from our country due to not being patriotic or for not liking our country. There are quite a lot of things id change about the UK as a whole for the better - 1 obviously being the tax system(s) which are ridiculous. The weather has got buggar all to do with anything, i actually miss cold days quite a lot seen as dont get any, so that argument is out the window. If you go to Perth Australia its like a mini Scotland, someone quoted me the figure of 150,000 Scots in that city alone which is around the same as Dundee - I dont think its that actually that high but its certainly a 5 figure amount. As for voting - well thats another topic. For me it doesnt matter who governs as the government always get in...the people we see as running the country are mere puppets who are being told what to do by a higher regeime/elite. If we really had democracy we would have an option on the voting slip for 'none of the above'.

Im looking forward to this game tonight, and these games are always more even at Anfield. Liverpool have had a good start points wise but been poor performance wise. Man U have only played 2 games and will need a win as they have Chelsea next week aswell. Gerrard and Torres have been passed fit for Liverpool which swings the odds IMO. I expected Man U to go there and win 2 or 3 nil but with those 2 back I can see liverpool really being up for it. I'll sit on the fence with a 2-2 draw. Elsewhere, Man City v Chelsea should be a cracker.

Bet Alan Hutton is regretting he didnt patent the idea
-
Pity Scotland didnt have McCann still flying down the wing for us. He is 1 player i rated highly and wasnt happy when he left for Southampton - his career went pear shaped then.
-
He can say it with a smile on his face just to cover up the fact he IS trying to get the point across. For me BF HAS to bide his turn when he is fit again. If Thomson and Mendes strike up a good understanding then why should that be broken up.
-
I see what your saying Fraser but cant fully agree. Also listened to Chick interview Burley after the game and they were saying Brown had a good game???!!! For me he might just be going thru a bad patch (all players do), and once he is on his game I would have in the team hands down. He is a bit of a knob but i think he is a good player. As for Broadfoot - its the opposite. Kirk is playing his best ever football but its still pretty average and if his form dips again then he wouldnt be near my team. At the moment he is there on merit and thats fair and something i like to see. After all Eck took FAR to long to call Hutton up. McFadden has to be in the team aswell for me. He is the 1 player we have who can turn a game. I dont think playing in the Championship is doing him any good as that league is a big scrap. If Lee McCulloch gets his 'A' game back he will be a miss We do have a decent squad when everyone if fit. Kevin Thomson is getting nearer the first XI and it would be D Fletcher who makes way for me, then shift Brown out right. But this is the first 2 sides we could field when fit. _________________Gordon___________________ Hutton______Weir________McManus______Naysmith Fletcher_____Brown______Ferguson_______Maloney _____________Miller______McFadden____________ ___________________McGregor_________________ Whittaker____Broadfoot_____Caldwell______S Smith?? Yip agree fully. The hard work done against celtic will almost be pointless if we went and threw away silly points. We should be looking to win EVERY home game. The performance level against celtic was top notch and would be difficult to expect every game but the benchmark has been set and we should certainly try to be like this week in week out. Agreed, a Switched on Cousin is a huge loss and il be interested to see how he does at Hull. IMO he made the wrong move as Ibrox was a better option than Hull. He and Miller upfront with a solid yet creative midfield 4 put us back looking like a real team again. I was all for 4-3-3/4-5-1 recently but after seeing how we played at parkhead im not hoping Lafferty comes good and leads the Cousin like role.

This comment is as ridiculous as your first post. Where i stay has buggar all to do with patriotism - Thats like saying all Rangers fans should stay in Glasgow...but then there is more than 1 team in Glasgow...so maybe all Gers fans have to stay in Govan. But if i have to move to the other side of the world to escape a caveman victorian mentality just to live in modern times then so be it. Maybe you should switch radio stations or tv channels that actually go beyond the pettyness of the media or better still - rise above it!!! That makes no difference. Those players were representing your country and were probably the best available. Id rather have 5 celtic players in the team than options from East Fife, Dunfermline or St Mirren. You cant have a situation in the international side where the 6 other players win but the 5 celtic players lose Some people around the world would be utterly baffled as to a supposed scotsman smiling on there national team getting beat, disliking certain aspects of the country like kilt, FOS, bagpipes. I agree you dont have to support the national football team to be proud of your country - to like football is a personal choice...but your obviously a football fan and to say you had a smile at a defeat plus admit to jumping up and down in annoyance when you see a celtic play in a scotland shirt shows you are almost anti Scotland football team and have your own issues. Just as i said earlier. People will find it baffling. You dont have to like it but to say bagpipes are an embarressment to music is just a silly comment. Some people are proud to learn this instrument. Im not a fan of playing the guitar but i dont say its embarressing as guitars play a big part in music and are the reaosn behind some great musicians. Sounds like you have enough bad wind to play your own set of bagpipes. . I personally wouldnt go out and learn the bagpipes but i dont find it near embarressing. I agree on this. The internationals should have like 2 mini seasons in the year - probably in January then at the end of the season - just before the WC / EC are played. It would get people interested in it a bit more along with giving the national managers longer with there squads. During the season a few friendlies and get togethers could still be arranged but competitive games should be played together. I see what your saying here. But the top qualified men in football (who i class a grade A scottish managers) arent / wouldnt take it. This list probably includes Sir Awex and David Moyes but they arent going to leave there huge jobs for a part time job. In Burley i think we went for potential more than experience and sometimes in a career you have to give someone a chance rather than going with those who already 'have the tshirt' - or nobody in life would ever step up to the mark.
-
Hoi, do you think this is Gridiron!!!! Russia GOT a penalty:thup:
-
A fine 3 points to pick up. Id take 3 pts out the 2 games. Some people would have been happy with 2 draws but 1 win and 1 defeat can sometimes do the squad confidence more good. Now we have Norway at home which we must win and then we are back on our way. Hopefully we have Ferguson and Hutton back for that game - both were sorely missed this week. Actually Weir was missed aswell.
-
How will Gribz be happy Jon????? I did fancy England to go there and win by a few goals but not a 4-1 hiding. Walcott has bascially just told Beckham to hang up his boots!!! Notice they played a 4-4-2 with Barry and Lampard in the middle - 1 holding, 1 going forward...they played with 2 wide men (Cole and Walcott) then Heskey and Rooney upfront. The BBC says they were back to there Euro 96 best. Thats what happend when you play a system to your strengths rather than players by name - Beckham, Owen and Gerrard. Although Gerrard would still be in my team ahead of Lampard.
-
Iceland wont be easy but we need a win. They drew with Norway away 2-2 at the weekend. Your team isnt bad but id play Scott Brown on the right and Maloney on the left then push McFadden up with Miller.
-
If Lafferty has even 75% of the ability Cousin had when in the mood then we could have a player on our hands. Lafferty will give his all so would be more consistant. So yeah a miller / Lafferty partnership would be my preferrance at the moment.
-
At first i was against this appointment and would have preferred Donadoni or Laudrup. But im swinging towards this. I like Zola and he was a tremendous player but he has it ALL to prove, so in that case its a gamble of a signing. I think the fact the director of football is an italian has put this one in place...but im not sure if i like the way the club is being ran at the moment. Its not as bad as Newcastle but something isnt right. At least its not Joan Collins who was in the running. And no thanks to Sam Allardyce
-
Im not too sure about Mikel yet, i dont think he is a patch on Makelele or Essien. If Anelka got his finger out and played like his Arsenal days then he and Drogba would be scary and that would mean another midfielder dropping out
-
Malouda gives them width if they need it. I think they will in some games now that SWP has gone and they didnt get Robinho. J Cole can play wide but he isnt a natural hugger of the touchline.
-
First and foremost I think its the opening post has some ridiculous comments but it still opens up chance for a decent debate. It kind of makes me glad im not living in the backward victorian society of Scotland now. As someone said...go live in England for a while then you will see bias at its best and Scotland seems non exsistant. I lived there for a while and the BBC BSKYB are supposed to be British - your having a laff Firstly anyone who has a smile on there face after there own national team get beat can talk a walk and go apply for citizenship of another country. I find this very Celtic like minded and a pure example of how the hatred in the game will never disappear. Why cant it just be a banter fed rivarly between the 2 - because people are so filled with a self anger. You dont sound proudly Scottish - You just told us you had a smile on your face at full time!! How on earth can an annoyance of bagpipes, tartan and kilts show your proud. I agree that there is not much need for them at football matches and they are over used on occasions. You have a point on the anti-englishness thing, again this should only be a bit of banter between the 2 places IMO. And on International football, there is a problem with the set up IMO for this. The qualifiers should be played in 1 period and not broke up over 15 months or whatever. There could be a winter break from the domestic season and then play half or all the games then. I can see where getting motivated for Scotland v San Marino isnt easy for some fans...but I would still watch the game with support. A bit of a glory hunter then are you?? Jump onto the bandwagon when its going right??? Football is emotional at times, i pick up on every scottish players bad pass whether they play for Dundee Utd, Celtic or Rangers. But to single out Celtic players is harsh IMO...ok slaughter them when they are in a green hooped shirt What do you want - a 2nd Rangers team turning out for Scotland?? Should every manager be a Ex Ger??? Whether Burley ws the right pick is another debate, I was 50/50 with him and I still am as he has only had 1 competitive difficult away game. His selections have been a bit baffling but there isnt much to choose from. Not sure if he ran away from Hearts, he was being told what who to pick for the team. He had a superb season with Ipswich, taking a small club to 5th in the Premiership. Massive clubs like Spurs and Newcastle are struggling to do that.
-
I actually gives Scolari 1 less headache to worry about as he couldnt fit Essien, Ballack, Lampard, Deco, J Cole, Mikel and Malouda into the same midfield. It is a blow though becuase Essien would be in my team every week.
-
We have a large amount of Red Hand flags at all our games - does that make all our games an official Ulster day?
-
Genuine question about the oranje day we had for Advocaat and the dutch players - does anyone think we would still have had this day if the Dutch national colour wasnt orange?? For example if it was green - does anyone really think we would have wore green all day??? - I doubt it!!
