It will be interesting in 2020 when Tavernier qualifies to play for Scotland. Its been hinted he would be up for it. He would cruise into the side.
-
Juventus are a good bet but I think it could be Man Citys year.
-
Ive gone that way also. Stuck it out longer than many but no longer care about results. I'll always take an interest which is different of course. Not going to start on Steve Clarke as he has inherited a mess but he was always a good number 2 or 3 (assistant manager or coach) in England. Just because to took Killie to 3rd in a poor league many thought he would be a Savior. but he was talking about picking players up after the Russia game, however he isnt exactly Mr motivation himself, he has always comes across as dour. He isnt exactly Craig Levein level but he isnt quite Strachan. Thats one thing Strachan had about him - always motivated.

Another licking. Cyprus above Scotland in the table. The problems are so deep routed its probably impossible to turn this around. Everything to a split (anti-Rangers) Fan base to inept governing body to no grass roots. I notice Englands match against Kosovo tonight is being played at Southampton St Marys stadium. They will get a full house with a good atmosphere. As per my earlier post Scotland should be taking matches against Kazakhstan, Russia etc around the country rather than playing in half empty library Hampden. Anyone any idea what the attendance was last night?

How about the French balls up. Playing the Andorra national anthem for Albania and then the announcer apologizing to the Armenian fans for the mistake. Cant wait for the domestic games to be back this weekend.
-
11/2. Sure its not 11/1.
-
A half full / half empty Hampden doesnt help as the atmosphere wouldnt exactly be a 12th man. Only OF Cup games and Scotland v Euro Giants should be kept or are needed for Hampden. Qualifiers like this should be played between Easter Road, Tynecastle and Pittodrie to get full houses and an atmosphere yet the SFA would rather play in a dull white elephant. Wales do this with Cardiff City stadium. If Hampden is the national stadium for the SFA then reduce the capacity to 35000 and do a deal so the big games (if there are any) like v England / Germany etc are played between Murrayfield, Ibrox and obviously their first choice Celtic Park. Same for OF cup games IMO.

The guy is a bit unlucky. Watford were very good last season and had they not got to the FA Cup semi final they would perhaps have finished 7th. Once they reached the final they dropped off to 11th.

Something that is all wrong with the set up. His form is way better than McTominay yet the latter probably gets a game because he plays for Man Utd. Plus Clarke would be aware of the boo boys in the crowd. Even if Jack played Right Back he should still start, he has played there on occasion and would have been better then O'Donnell. Bates would start at centre half for me. Very promising centre half when at Ibrox, not sure Hamburg was the right move but I hope he progresses at Sheff Wed.

Forres Mechanics and Fraserburgh in a Premier League topic The International break has to be restructured. It just ruins the start of the season then it happens again in October. Perhaps start the domestic season a week later and play the International games before the start of the season so there is a good run of 7 or 8 games before the October break. Id even lump the 2 international breaks together to have 3 -4 games for the national sides. Gets it all out the way and gives the international managers more time with their squads.

Not sure why Clarke took that job, its practically mission impossible as its so deep rooted. Clarke and Andy Robertson saying the players froze after going 1 up, thats unbelievable - its going a goal UP not down. The goal was just ten minutes in, there should have been a reaction in the 80 minutes left especially at HT if this was the thoughts. There is still no real leaders in the squad, Robertson is a CL winner and is close as it comes but he has to filter that through. The defence is the poorest Ive seen in my lifetime. To think about Miller, McLeish, Gough, Hendry, Calderwood, Weir in the last few decades - the defense with keepers was always the strongest area. Even Christian Dailly would walk into the team right now. On paper the current midfield is the best we have had for about 15 years, a lot of skilful creativity but it counts for nothing if the back 4 is weak and mentality is weak.
-
I think Arfield would eventually get back into my XI but I kinda went a bit by form also. The depth is great at the moment though, to think we still have Jamie Murphy to come back aswell as another option going forward. I just think we put Sunday to a bad day at the office and we go again after the international break.

A lot of movements in the last few days. Sanchez completes move to Inter. Chris Smalling to Roma. Icardi to PSG. Falcao to Galatasaray. Mkhitaryan Leaves Arsenal for Roma. Young Duncan from Liverpool goes to Fiorentina. And Neymar doesnt go anywhere....

I think its fair to say SG has been backed heavily by the board since the turn of the summer. I didnt think I would see us signing a 7 million pound player in a hurry again but fair play to the board for getting this deal over the line - I thought the price tag for Helander was big enough. Not only that key assets like Morelos and Tavernier havent been sold despite being linked with big money moves. Have we perhaps got too much in the final third now? Competition is massive yet we will have plenty games coming up with the Europa, League cup etc. I dont think we can get away from a 4 at the back. Its harsh on Jones who looks great but Kent does walk into the starting XI. At the back Goldson and Katic start for now but its up to Helander and Edmundson to dislodge them. I dont think Arfield and Kamara have started the season off too well so they wouldnt make the starting line up for me. McGregor Tavernier Goldson Katic Barisic Davis Jack Aribo Ojo Kent Morelos

The Spring & Summer 2019 Transfer Rumours Thread
Gribz replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
Didnt even know he was still on our books. He had flashes of decent play early on but fizzled out. Good luck to Dorrans though, just didnt work out for him, he is a quality player on his day but got a bad injury. -

Wow, what a signing. How many wingers / attacking midfielders can we play! -
What bugs me most is the fact non of our players turned up. Are they capable? They get plaudits but yesterday didnt show up. So many on here praise Jack, Ive never been convinced. I thought at half time Gerrard would ring the changes. Move on and react.
-
On the wind up...and his name of thread showing its a wind up.
-
Nope..perhaps we bit off more than we deserved to use a phrase. We just werent at the races, perhaps being favourites played on too many minds?? We are definitely better than our showing. Its all about rising about it and showing it. We go to Parkhead next time and turn up.
-
I think i did OK this week with the predictions. Was due one! 2-2 at Emirates, I should have had a flutter on that.
-
Horrendous..... There better be better plans behind the scenes. Gerrard is not inept.
-
Taking the piss. Celtic hit us on the break.
-
Total inept performance. No quality at all. A lot of people on here have been praising Jack...not for me. He is a passenger and not rangers class.
-
Unstoppable player on his day. He should have dome much better and much longer.
