2nd Sunday in a row with a wee win. Had Rooney on to get first goal in City v Utd match! Well done Wayne!

Yeah we do Mike, i suppose we just want the manager of Rangers to get the basics right and be fair rather than having preferences which arent good for the team. I think most rangers fans would accept defeat if the team gave 100% and the management put out a team with players in the right positions.

Me too mate and when we dont win like last season and perhaps this season I see it being more a case of us losing the league more than them winning it.
-
If only people did that with my posts TBH the question seems to have a simple answer(s) but resolving the issue seems to go over the management and players heads. 1) We take the foot off the peddle to early in games 2) Players out of position 3) Tactics / formation wrong 4) To loyal to certain players 5) You can only get away with so many duds

Barry (Bmck) makes a good point that myself and SuperAlly said before the game about Hearts winning the midfield battle. Both me and SA suggested playing a trio in the centre to win this battle - that meant playing either Edu or bringing in Hemdani, but it didnt happen and our 2 central midfielders were having an off day. Just wondering again why Ferguson walks back in the team when its obvious he isnt match fit, and is it coincidence that we have struggled sine his return? We were poor against St Mirren and Aberdeen, drew with DUFC and Motherwell, now lose against Hearts. IMO its no coincidence. Its happened too many times before. Under McLeish he came back and our football went downhill, and under Le Guen it happened, now this is the 3rd time. Ferguson gave 1 good game out of every 6 last season. He just isnt good enough anymore. But the scary thing is he isnt near being our worst player.

Anyone think the likes of Archie Knox is missing in this regime? He would have given players pelters for poor games, yet I cant see Ally begin so honest or so effective and rather put the arm round the players shoulders.

Saturdays games are 0-0 half time expect Sunderland v Bolton: Sunderland 1-3 Bolton! Where did that come from! Bolton scoring 6 in 2 away games in a week!
-
This was 1 of the reasons i backed us today, yet they came out and showed what an organised team can do!!

In the last few weeks we have drew with Motherwell, Dundee Utd and Lost to Hearts! That is hardly form that will win us the league that is a MUST this season. WS selections and tactics are being found out that he isnt capable over a season anymore. Celtic are going to the places like Tynecastle and Fir Park and winning yet we are getting it so wrong. Also we can see a gulf in class between our team when we play the poorer sides in the SPL like St Mirren / Hamilton etc compared to when we play the likes of Hearts away. Ive been on the anti Boyd bandwagon for a long time yet since not getting a game for Scotland and going on a sulk his game changes against Kilmarnock and Hamilton x 2. And im now at the final conclusion of - Wow - Thats his level after all. WS takes most of the blame. But I continually say that having the likes of Burke, Boyd, Adam, Broadfoot, Whittaker in the Rangers FC team means we wont be top of the ladder. I honestly cant beleive a proven failure like Burke gets a nod ahead of Novo and the promising Aaron in the game today! Never mind even why the classy Hemdani continues to play more football in his garden than for Rangers.

Well todays result certainly dents us!!

As the question says. Would you let Smith, Ally and the baldy one go and replace with someone else? I personally wouldnt until the end of the season - assuming we dont win the league - but the thought of the mhanks winning 4IAR and McAvennie's love child's face is making me irritated to fuck.

Ok lads, plenty discussed after that nonsense. But for me the 4-4-2 isnt working due to WS selections. Ive said it for years that the way Rangers should go is 3-5-2. I like 4-3-3 and would go with that also. But my case for 3-5-2 is this: 1) We play 4 centre halves as it is anyway (Papac, Weir, Bougherra, Broadfoot)...why not lose 1 of them and add to a positon further up the park. 2) We still get 2 wide players in the team but they are attacking rather than full backs and we still have 3 central midfielders. 3) We still get Poacher Boyd in the team WITH another striker. Im sorry but we are Rangers! And in Scotland we should fear nobody and have a go at everyone with our game plan! _____________________McGregor___________________ _______Bougherra_______Weir________Papac_________ ______________Davis____________Ferguson*_________ ___Novo______________Mendes___________Beasley____ _________________Boyd_______Miller________________ *Thomson when fit / Edu until Ferguson match fit.

See what your saying, but players who are in natural positions should be hammered if the have regular stinkers. But players who have been out of positon for a while can be exempt. But we are fighting a losing battle when half the team is out of position.
-
Purely about not being neutral and the fact he had to bring up Celtic. He also mentioned it would ease there CL exit! Im trying not to be paranoid but i find that a little wrong. Surely the Hearts fans would be the first ones to enjoy that win! Maybe i was just in such a pissed off mood during the game that these comments stood out from a commentator who does my head in!
-
Sorry mate but its true! Maybe il change it to Captain Who? But its not all about 1 game! Ferguson has been poor for a long time. I really hoped his long lay off would have recharged his batteries to give us the old BF back but i cant see it. Ok he only returned recently and another he deserves a few more games, but he isnt even on the right road!
-
Just picking your post out Ian bud, not having a dig at you in genereal But WS has put together a squad of good numbers - however he doesnt know what to do with it. For a manager at this stage to not know his best XI and play players out of position is a disgrace. Not being sarcastic here but the top 40 posters on this forum could pick a better team weekly! (id go 3-5-2 btw )
-
Yeah i watched - we both agreed (and other posters) that Ferguson was not at the races - so your point is? Im not blaming Ferguson as much as im blaming WS! WS said he will play when he came back. He should have been eased in and in pecking order. Mendes has struggled since Ferguson returned - coincidence?? Yet Mendes still looks like he has a great touch and pass! He needs a Stuart McCall / Spackman type player to help him - ie Thomson! Possibly Edu? Or i think Hemdani would work will with him.

A team bus full!

I continue the sentiment in this thread. Been scratching my head about his signature. Although I do feel sorry for the guy if he is a centre forward. But he doesnt even look a player on the wide roles. He makes Flo look decent!
-
But what about commentators being neutral
-
EHHHHHH!! Didnt you just watch that game?? Did you see Ferguson??? He has been rank for 2 years now!! Mendes started well at Rangers with Davis and Thomson and now you can see he needs help in the centre since Ferguson returned and he look lost! And Adam offers nothing on the left to assist. Hemdani strolled games for us and can understand his frustration. Sorry but i stand by my first post 100%. - Barry Who!!!
-
Id say the injury to Thomson has effected us due to Ferguson being an imposter since returning and Edu not ever having a run yet. The thing that is biting us is WS persistance to play his favourites and others play out of position. Davis, Hemdani and Edu are all capable next to Mendes yet none have had a chance there. Also Mendes looks like he is struggling as he has nobody helping him! Look how well he did with Davis and Thomson in the middle against Celtic. And Burke to come on before novo - whats he thinking!!!! Your right, it was a disaster! Bring back 3-5-2 loyal
-
Is Christophe Berra the answer? He played well today!. Weir is finished, I wouldnt let Broadfoot near the team against top 8 opposition never mind centre half. Id have Dailly ahead of Broadfoot.
-
Didnt see Ferguson today. This is his 3rd or 4th game back yet he isnt near the pace. He is non-exsistant and is making no progress. Mendes and Davis or Hemdani should be the centre midfield pairing. We missed Davis today. And what does it say for Walter when he stated Ferguson retains his place no matter what!
-
Ive never liked the guy! His voice drives me insane. Right now he just said the Hearts fans are in full voice but they wont be enjoying this as much as the Celtic fans! What a wank!
