It all depends what went on behind the scenes that we dont know about. Boyd should have been put on ahead of Iwelemo or Fletcher as IMO it wasnt a game to hand 2 debuts. But for all we know Boyd may be lazy in training and just having a laugh and taking his place for granted - at the time he wasnt playing well. Therefore Burley maybe didnt want to reward him with a place. Its similar to Gow and WS. But BOyd has knuckled down and started playing much better in a few games, he would have been the bigger man also if he didnt quit the Scotland scene but proved Burley wrong with all his goals. Now they both look to be in a no win situation.

IM not sure whether to say: 1) well done Charlie for showing your desire at playing for Rangers or 2) What a greedy twat for thinking about yourself first rather than the team and effecting us on the pitch or 3) What are the medical staff doing not picking up on this!! Lee Wilkie would be the lowest of the low signings ever for me. The whole thing stinks from the players ability to his injury record. A back 4 of Whittaker, Broadfoot, Wilkie and another seems to be the route we are heading and would be the worst Rangers defence of all time.

Personal name calling out of the blue is against forum rules but in some ways it can be justified as long as it doesnt get very personal. Its strange this just comes to view now when posters on here - mods/admin included - have gave out fair share of abuse and name calling to Boruc, McGeady, Lennon, Spiers, McNee etc - and rightly so! But now its towards a Rangers player we have to discuss it. We have a wanker smilie available - now surely if that is used then its an insult to whoever its direct against! Calling someone a twat for missing an open goal is almost part of spoken english, Im sure its just an expression that comes out straight away. EG - "Oh Boyd you Balloon!!" How many times have people on here called someone else the odd donkey in banter terms!! - Its all about knowing where to draw the line. In Charlie Adams case being called an idiot can be justified IMO for some of the nonsense he has came out with. He brought it on himself. And sitting infront of the national TV cameras picking his nose before the UEFA cup final was pure embarrasing. As long as the insults dont come without substance and totally attack the person direct or his family etc then the odd "twat", "clown" statement is fine by me. And players are paid big money and taking a little bit of criticism is part and parcel of being a football player in the same way as they will get praise for doing well.

Id rather see us go 4-3-3 with Davis being pushed in a bit and having a 3 man forward line. Or alternatively id look at 3-5-2 but as long as our players are not out of position - not to promising with WS record. But we play 4 centre halfs as it is anyway so why not take 1 away. 1 thing i think we have a problem with is fitness of the players. When they come back from pre season or an injury they are always looking trim, fit, fast etc but during the season some of them seem to look slow and a few pounds over weight. As someone mentioned earlier, its not the age of the player, its the quality of him. I mean let just give Aaron the same sort of time Novo gets in matches to see what impact he makes rather than swapping Adam for Lafferty - a change that did absolute nothing at all and was obvious. Strachan must have rubbed his hands at that change.

Good summary Craig, but was Edu really signed for 2.5 million??? I didnt know we paid that for him!!! In todays current climate he spend 7 million on Velicka, Edu and Lafferty with that latter only getting a game yet he is being ruined. He looks like he couldnt skin a potato on the wing! The team needs freshing up. Id rather see Davis being pushed into a more natural postion then bringing in a flair player or two to the starting line up - Aaron, Fleck, Novo Yet I expect Naismith to be brought straight back in after a long injury - and it will take him 1-2 months to get up to speed, something we cant afford to do too much! Naismith is a player i had a bit of hope for but his career never really took off and id put him behind Aaron and Fleck.

This has developed into an interesting thread. Its interesting to see some comments thinking that some players would be better off leaving our club and going back home for the benefits of them personally - Novo and Aaron. You really couldnt blame them! I said a few weeks ago WS should be judged at the end of the season or when this seasons title is decided as it was a 3 stage process. But im swaying towards thinking he just cant deliver anymore. He has bought far too many signings and not played some (Edu, Velicka, Lafferty - upfront, Aaron), yet stuck with poor players and also denies players with talent a place on the bench (Hemdani) - you couldnt make all that up! As for who would replace him, Ascenders shout of Souness for a chairman appealed to me, but not as manager i dont think! Jons call for George Graham appealed - a manager ive always liked and who Scotland should have went out the way to get before Burley. El Tel is another. But im still a huge fan of Martin Jol for next Gers boss!

Agreed Craig, and this is down to discipline of the players and that comes down to the management. Too much diets of burgers and pizzas (i wouldnt deny players this too much but its probably daily with some of our players) and not enough pasta's etc. You just wonder what PLG would have done had the players listened!!

I think the thing with Adam is everyone knows how bad a player his has been in the last year, yet the manager has to take some flak for bringing him in. 1 of WS problems is he doesnt give anyone a decent run on the left, it may take 6 games to adjust and find some form. Going back to Maineflyer's last post, some of the players in Ecks reign would walk straight into the team now which proves we are being downsized by the season - we were on the downward spiral then and we are doing the same now. Id mention Peter Lovenkrands in that list aswell, and we had a chance to take him back - a player who proved it in big games. Give me him on the left anyday compared to our current options bar Aaron who i cant judge. Yet players like PL get shot down because they arent a Stuart McCall type player who will go in for every challenge at 100mph - we dont need 11 players like that, we need the odd player who can create and score out of nothing when the chips are down and the likes of PL, Novo can do that.

Been saying for 12 months that Novo would probably be the first name on the team sheet for me. An impact player doesnt just have to sit on the bench!! Not only is he an impact player but he has a bit of quality and always gives his all and has a bit of pace again. He is being wasted on the bench. He has proven it in big games. It wouldnt surprise me at all if WS purposely didnt bring him on sooner due to this Spanish game!

The memory of him picking his nose during the sky tv interview jumps out to me and reminds me how much of a joke he is! Im not 1 to boo our own players but i want Adam to Fuck off - Worst ever Ranger!! And want does WS see in him???

People assume his goals win us things - when his play etc is part of our downfall - as you say he isnt a main culprite - Adam, Broadfoot, Whittake, Burke, plus previous donkeys have done this!!!!
