  1. You've just put a fair dampener on things there BD But knowing our luck it will be Bougherra who makes way! If someone comes in with a 5million+ bid for McGregor then we should take it
  2. If Webster and Gow could be moved on permanently also it would help, Gow obviously wont get near the team and Webster is about as fit as a Daniel Prodan ever was. Out of the list of players in the 2nd paragraph, only Beasley and S Smith would be the ones id like to stay. im sure we are all hoping for S Smith to get fit. Beasley for me still has something to offer. Hemdani is a quality player and someone will get a good deal there, but it makes sense to get him off the wage bill if he isnt to play.
  3. Have to say those 4 would be in my starting line up at the moment. Not so much Beasley in trickier tight pitches.
  4. Dipping your hand in and picking out a random post again mate?? Where are you coming from here? I didnt see me mentioning Boyd or Lafferty in this thread. Kindly explain
  5. Dunno if thats dig or not mate :box: i think its a good thing for the team, he is an attacking option and can play wide even though he is a striker....wont be worse than burke or adam
  6. Am I the only one who cant play the youtube clips that get posted? They dont load for me. It works ok on a different non rangers forum Im on. I have to open a new browser and go to youtube.com and play them from there. It used to be ok when the link was only posted
  7. Agree with Gav and YL...coming from a player who hasnt got any sort of form. Naismith coming back could be a good thing. I havent seen much of him but his Gers career has never really got going. I kinda have had hope for him. Will be interested to see how he does.
  8. Hypothetical question. Velicka and Lafferty are untried upfront. Yes i watched the game on saturday. If you read the other posts ive pot since the game you will see Boyd is FAR from being singled out. Erm...didnt i start a thread on Ferguson?? - Yes!. At half time i in the match thread i gave a view on every player and tore into others such as Adam. So no, Boyd isnt being singled out. And IF we are to discuss Boyd on his own then the argument about his goal ratio against better teams cant be a poor argument - its evidence of his level. Of course he needs to do this. Infact i remember you saying the same thing, so why go back and use this as an argument against me now? Are you saying consistancy and proven ability is not important?? Really?? I must get used to it then! No your putting words in my mouth. Quote me where i said i want him to be a role model. I said he showed the other strikers how to play the role fantastically well. The goal against Celtic was amazing which he created and scored. That what our strikers to be aspiring to. Again words in my mouth, i didnt specifically say Boyd, but its a possibility Boyd could make way. However with Miller going out injured it would have been the perfect chance. I dont even necessarily mean start Lafferty, bring him on for the last 30 mins for anyone of the strikers who is on the park. Thats wrong. He isnt top of the list. Adam is top of the list. Followed by Burke, Ferguson, McGregor etc....and even WS for playing horrendous tactics and decision making. But Boyd shoudlnt gain any praise for having a stinker.
  9. I thought he looked weak on saturday. maybe it is missing a pre-season as they do so much gym work. Ferguson on his day is a quality player - ive always said that. But in the last 18 months is been 1 great performance followed by 6 average/poor games. I really hope we get him fit and playing at a good level again but if he doesnt get near a decent standard in the next 4-6 games then surely WS has to try someone else.
  10. So your saying Boyd is the ONLY striker who will score for us?? I said we shouldnt have sold Cousin - he showed us what a striker should be doing! Id say only Miller and Novo could currently score a goal out of there own doing. With service then a few would score including Boyd. I dont want Lafferty to play upfront, i just want to see him before deciding - simple as! And your saying saying the Championship sides arent better teams then the rest of the SPL?? - Im sorry but teams like Wolves etc would wipe most of the SPL. That league has got lots of quality. In fact teams a few teams in League 1 down south would beat some SPL teams.
  11. Afriad not in some peoples views mate. He got his finger out and played well against a few lesser teams AFTER the Burley/Scotland thing. Then he has a few games against DUFC, Motherwell and Hearts and found the going tough - regardless of the service. I was the first to say he was beginning to play well in those other games and took a few of his goals superbly, but if cant do it week in week out then its obvious he cant cut it at the top level. To win the title we need a regular goalscorer in the tougher games. Thats ONE of the differences between Coisty and Boyd - McCoist popped up all the time. Agreed with Darcheville BTW - he was so poor towards the end of the season. Id still like to see Lafferty upfront - on the wing we already know how bad he is. And Velicka is a strange one - he was so promising in pre season.
  12. Yip i was just making the point that Ferguson got introduced rather quick, but someone mentioned it was unfair to play Fleck so soon. The fact Thomson got injured allowed Ferguson to come back, but as you say Cammy it was a great chance to play Edu. Also id try Davis in the centre and have Novo wide right. Personally Cammy, do you feel Ferguson is finished or can offer us more?
  13. Well the first 3 are a huge welcome back for me. 3 players id genuinely start every week at the moment. McGregors needs to get his head straight and get back to what he was last season. However Id start with Alexander this weekend.
  14. If a pro footballer cant learn to take a throw over the space of a year then he should be sent to the U16s to learn. Broadfoot is a trier but thats it! Id rather see him at Centre half first before deciding if he is good enough for rangers but i cant see it. Boyds all round play against Hearts was terrible. He resorted to elbows. He still looks like he is towing a caravan when running. His level is against Hamilton and St Mirren!
  15. He hasnt got anything to lose by taking a gamble. He is gambling with our titles chances playing: 1) An out of sorts and possibly finished Ferguson, 2) a keeper who is too busy checking out birds in the stands, 3) a 39 year old defender with the pace of a turtle 4) a centre half at RB who is a trier but cant take a throw 5) Charlie Adam - no discription needed 6) Chris Burke - ala Adam 7) A 3.5 million pound player who is being called Laugherty because he is that bad 8) A striker who can only score against the poorer teams We are missing Thomsons bite in the midfield and we have missed Millers work rate in the last few games.
  16. Whats the excuse for Ferguson? As Cotter said, we have 3 youngsters in Aaron, Fleck and Efrem who are genuinely exciting talent yet NONE of them get pitched in - this says something about WS to me.

    Barry Who

I agree about McGregor, he isnt a patch on last season. Was this just a 1 season wonder? And there was rumours about a 7 million pound move to Spurs! He needs a boot up the ass. And yes there could be a thread about him alone also. But Ferguson is the captain and hasnt done it on the pitch for a few years now. And im pretty disgusted with WS for bringing him back as an automatic choice. He is getting a game on reputation at the moment and in hope he performs. We've played poor in 4 games since he returned. And Mendes has went downhill since then also.
  18. West Ham battered them 0-0 :box: Get it up you Jon. Didnt we say we'd have a bet with West Ham getting a 1-0 head start Good round of weekend results for Arsenal and Man Utd. Same again next wekend hopefully to give us a real 4 horse race. Although Liverpool will slip away eventually
  19. Sorry Craig, i should have stated why id have brought Edu on also. This was to toughen up the midfield and win more balls or simply just to replace Ferguson.
  20. But whats baffling is he seemed to get tactics spot on with Scotland. I dont think its so much his thoughts on tactics, its more his loyality to shite players and his defensive approach, also the fear of taking attacking gambles by unleashing Fleck, Aaron and Novo upfront. I mean putting Burke on against Hearts ahead of Edu, Aaron or Novo!! :box: Burke gets blown on off the ball, what was he going to do in a match like that!
  21. You mean confident on getting a game Pete? Agreed if thats what your saying. The boy can probably run and beat 5 players therefore wont get a game because he doesnt just hit and hope long balls. If he is useless the he would play - Broadfoot cant even take a throw but plays. Lets at least see the kid Walter!!! And lets see Fleck also.
  22. Great stuff. I fancied the Goons to win aswell but to come from 1-0 down is superb. I fell asleep at 1-0 then woke up right as the Arsenal first came. They needed that! Now they need to go on a winning run and stop losing stupid games. If they cut out the silly games then they can win the title. Its Arsenal and Man Utds weekend. Liverpool will get stuffed 1-0 from West Ham tonight :box:
  23. 2nd Sunday in a row with a wee win. Had Rooney on to get first goal in City v Utd match! Well done Wayne!
  24. Yeah we do Mike, i suppose we just want the manager of Rangers to get the basics right and be fair rather than having preferences which arent good for the team. I think most rangers fans would accept defeat if the team gave 100% and the management put out a team with players in the right positions.
  25. Me too mate and when we dont win like last season and perhaps this season I see it being more a case of us losing the league more than them winning it.
