McDonald is fast becoming 1 of these celtic players who get on my tits something rotten. I just cant stand his face and his expressions when he scores.

Aye very good! Lost in the wash, did it go through the back of the machine and up through the pipes?? More like nicked and sold by his friends mother

Id start with a stronger team then make a few changes tonight just to give players a run out and get them sharp to play against Forfar on Saturday which allows us to leave some key players out so they are fresh for the OF game. __________________Alexander_________________ Whittaker_____Webster_____Broadfoot______Smith Aaron________Ferguson______Mendes_______Fleck ____________Naismith______Velicka_____________ HT Subs: Edu for Ferguson Davis for Mendes Lafferty for Naismith Boyf for Velicka Beasley for Fleck

Was just thinking about the income we will get from tonights game then thought about how much it could actually cost us long term. Im thinking back to the Liverpool friendly in the summer and how we were battered on the day so it not only turned out to be a pointless match but it was sandwiched in between the Kanuas CL qualifier. Rather than preparing for a huge 2nd leg we risked players getting injured for the sake of a money maker which ended up playing a part in not qualifying for the CL - how costly was that! So Im looking towards tonights game against Milan. On one hand the revenue from this game will be helpful and we are likely to rake in about 30% of what we wanted from the sale of a player in January. But on the other hand do we really need a friendly during a busy period on a cold night when we are still going for the 3 domestic trophies? Shouldnt we be resting players with an ugly tie at Forfar coming up at the weekend followed by a massive Old Firm match!!! After all , what happens if we get freak injury to a key player which puts a dent in our title bid? Winning the title is a must this season for 1) financial reasons as we gain auto entry to the CL and 2) Because Rangers shouldnt go 4 in a row without a title.

Im sure its play a competitive game

He is 33. No way is he worth 14 million!! But he will bring money in commerical things so his value goes up due to that. Becks is a good player but nothing more, certainly isnt near world class

Imagine that - last game of the season Spurs need a win to stay up and Liverpool need to win for the title and Keane gets the winner - Ooomphhhhh Not sure what scenario id prefer, maybe a draw so Spurs go down and Liverpool dont win the league. However Gav's point is spot on if he played for Spurs already this season. Thats 2 moves in a season and if defy's the rule a bit

We played 3-5-2 under WS sometimes in the 90s but he had the likes of Craig Moore in midfield. Teams have now opted for a flat 4-4-2 or the Mourinho style 4-5-1 which makes teams much harder to break down. Im still a fan of 3-5-2 if its worked properly but the problem is having defensive cover in the wide areas. You need a workhorse to sit infront of the defence to cover each side, or to cover the centre half who moves wide.

Yeah not only can you not fit 3 into 2 but you cant put square pegs into round holes. - Something WS doesnt know. To fit 3 central players in a system you need to pick a formation that allows it like 3-5-2 or 4-3-3 then you can still have wider players. But to throw a central player on the wing isnt right. I genuinely believe we have the squad capable of going on and walking the league but WS needs to stop being scared of opposition and being positive with the cards he has been dealt with

If 35k tickets are sold then thats a great money maker. Thats 875k in tickets sales alone (going on 25 quid a ticket).

Fergie wouldnt play for me. But Davis would still have a part to play somewhere, possibly next to Mendes as the Gordon Durie is still out on Edu. But this is what WS does, he accomodates players just to give them a game which upsets a system. And until this changes we wont see good flowing football

The only bad thing about this is its a loan. But as Craig says at least we dont have to worry about him playing at Parkhead. Its not nice to belittle a player but Adam is awful and someone who wouldnt be near my team.

The thought of Fleck and Aaron actually excite me again as a fan. Its been a long time since we had a few players who can get the ball and do something different. Mendes possibly fits the bill aswell. But a team with those 3 pulling the strings appeals to me hugely. If we can get Edu fit and playing then he could do a job sitting and allowing those 3 to play there game.

Have to say im delighted Mendes and Bougherra didnt move on. Didnt expect Fleck to even debate a move. Also happy Mcgregor didnt move on as he is getting better again. These 4 are the players we should be building the team around. Add Thomson (when fit), Davis, Aaron and a good new centre half and we have the basis of a fine side!
-
Yip Fleck looks to me Rooney-Esk. Same build, same aggresive play, he is direct, fast, skillful. The kid has all the ingredients to go on and be a star, but he could be done with a similar player in the team to take pressure and expectation off him. Step forward Aaron!!! I think Aaron could be every bits as good as Fleck has been, so Imagine how good these 2 could be in the same team on either flank!!

Fair play to the poster, he is certainly optimistic. But does he really think WS will use those 4 players like new signings and start playing attractive football??? I think this run-in is going to be a bit of a slog with much more twists

This Arshavin deal is a bizarre one. Its either on or off!

Benitez has obviously seem something he doesnt like that everyone else cant. You just wonder if moving back to Spurs so soon will be a good thing or a bad thing. Im hoping they get relegated but cant see it with Keane and Defoe.
-
Aye there was a picture of him the other day somewhere in jeans and a jumper and he looked homeless

Isnt the transfer window a UEFA thing though? So if it gets extended somewhere it has to other places also????
-
You should have left out the wink there mate to see how many people didnt know you were joking. Jon will still say he couldnt agree more tho!

Without getting into a political debate why should millions 'around the world' have trust in the 'American' President. I dont have any trust in Obama as he isnt the 1 actually making the decisions.

Its a bit late to do this deal but a good move for Keane and Spurs if it goes through. Keane and Defoe back upfront toegther within 13 months, i wonder what odds that would have been
