  1. Something will crack at Man City. Hughes mext few results will determine whether it will be him or not. I think signing the likes of Bridge and bellamy are better than world stars for Hughes to handle so Kaka not going may have done him a favour. Robinho is obviously wanted the fook out of there though. Manchester cant be his cup of tea at all.
  2. Yeah I can see the pattern of heading back to the same as Vogts days. And I just cant see it getting better under Burley. He has shot himself in the foot a few times by handing out bizarre caps along with a few strange decisions. Taking Butcher and Pressley on as his No.2 and 3 havent helped 1 bit. I was probably 60/40 in Burleys favour when he took the job but im certainly around 20/80 against now. His team makes the Craig Brown days look marvellous. Looking back I was never a Brown fan but the squads he had were superb and he didnt have too bad a record for us! Maybe start another thread in footie chat about Burley.
  3. I dont think he will be made a scapegoat at all. Burley is doing a bad enough job to show its his fault. If Burley picks Boyd for the squads yet not the starting line up then thats Burleys call again. It will be interesting to see Boyds reaction if Scotland do qualify for the World Cup! He will be itching to go! Yet that Norway game has stacked all the odds against us and i cant see it now.
  4. Is Burley not man enough to call up Boyd and say he wants him to play for Scotland rather than this chinese whispers through the media! Burley is employed by the SFA to do the best for his country yet he isnt doing so. Im far from Boyds biggest fan but i maintain he should easy have been played before 2 debutants in the Norway game although his attitude maybe have what left him out. This situation has made Boyd a better player so he should be the 1 with a smile on his face and be ready to return for Scotland. He has to remember he is also representing his country and not Burley alone. The situation stinks from both ends for me.
  5. More than Boyd?? Im maybe in a minority here but Thomson hasnt ever impressed me that much whenever ive seen him. He has had a few good games but thats it. Its maybe due to the fact I see selected games and have missed out on him at his best as everyone here seems to rave about him. He did seem to be striking up a good partnership with Mendes, so as said previously getting an injury has saved WS a huge headache to allow BF back in the team. RE Davis, he is by far a different player when playing in a more free central role. WS is ruining him by playing right wing. Id rather he sit on the bench and wait until BF moves on than be picked for the sake of getting in the team. Novo and Aaron are our only natural players for right wing at the moment, plus Fleck could play there. Davis and Thomson are both approx 23 years old so both are long term future midfielders for us and must stay.
  6. I thought Chimbonda was a LB. Hutton is easy there best option when fit but Harry obviously doesnt fancy him. He started at Spurs well but had a bad game in the 4-4 at Arsenal which was when Redknapp arrived. The boy Bale is crap and I dont think Redknapp was impressed. I think HR just wants his own squad in.
  7. I fancy a go at this seen as i cant win with accumulators!
  8. Yeah I heard that which baffled me! He has been awful at Wycombe and now Portsmouth.
  9. This could make Boumsong look a good signing! Ian Crocker could have a field day if Newcastle got their way and signed all this OF players. Crocker is forever mentioning when teams play "The Old Firm". This does my head in as its either Rangers or Celtic playing! Ive never seen the OF play in the same team before and he mentions it EVERY game "when teams are playing the OF". We dont want to be classed with them...:box:
  10. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/portsmouth/7850798.stm Pele and Mullins. Mullins is a player ive raved about for a while who is well underrated. Id have loved Rangers to sign him and Etherington. Both have now gone for a combined fee of 3 million - less than we paid for Lafferty and only 500k for than Edu yet both would have been 10 times better. Seems Adams wont be sacked then
  11. Brilliant stuff. Loving the 1994 picture, i had a huge version of that on my wall. Only thing buggin me is the name of the 3rd keeper in that picture. Im sure its Sandy or Scott something????
  12. Id like to think if we got such billionnaire coming in then there would be a plan laid out so if they up and left then we wouldnt be in a mess. Id also rather gradually build the team not going after the best players in the world but by good players who would become a good team i.e. look what Advocaat almost achieved on Murrays budget. A upgraded stadium would be a must, even in the current situation we need to gain more income especially if we can win the title and get into the CL proper. We need at least another 10,000 seats.
  13. The usual shit for me!:box: Dundee utd - won Fulham - won Hull - won Chelsea - won Aston Villa - drew and West Ham - won Celtic - won Hearts - won Man Utd - won Motherwell - drew
  14. Hope he does well. We'll maybe get him in the summer once we've sold off a few players.
  15. Gives them another option going forward and Heskey and Carew will be a nightmare for defenders especually with Young and Agbonlahor down the wings. Villa are very impressive but they fucked my coupon on Saturday with that draw at Doncaster. Means they will probably free up Marlon Harewood, who isnt a bad player but just not good enough for a high flying team.
  16. Good idea, lets play that one
  17. How sad are you?? Why dont you pick out the other 15 posts where i raved about him. So i left him out of 1 thread by mistake! :box:
  18. Its probably worth a fiver to stick Coyle on to be the next Celtic boss. Beattie, whats the odds???
  19. Cheers Craig, seems a tough bet to win then. The bookies giving Hull 50 points is a bit generous. Ok they are in free fall at the moment but if they find there form again they will climb. Villa on 26 is good but 6/5 is low odds.
  20. Its gone all quiet at the moment since Burke moved on. No more news about Boyd leaving. Anyone have any info???
  21. Good point! I wonder if he actually meant position or grounds! When i first read the title of the thread I was wondering who Strong was :fish:
  22. How does this bet work again? Do you add these amount of points onto everyones real tally and the end, but the team you have selected still has to be on top of everyone for a pay out???
  23. Thats still a neighbour up your way though
  24. What was the odds??? Thats a great bet. It does have away goals but in the extra time which makes absolute no sense as it gives the away side an advantage of an additional amount of time to score
