  1. Agreed Gav, Wenger said he has more hopes for this team than any other but i was thinking last night that the team of 2004 would destroy the team right now. They 2004 team would also stroll the league again. Selling Gilberto was an error. Hleb was replaced by Nasri fair enough. Flamini wanted to go so let him, but he could have been done with Gilberto this season. There first choice XI is awesome but with Fabregas, Walcott and Rosicky all injured the replacement players like Eboue Denilson Diaby and Song arent near good enough for long term. He needs Steel in that team. A Rino Gattuso type player would transform them
  2. Im really not sure about Arsenals finances but you would have to think they have SOME money to spend. If Hull can sign Bullard for 5 million then Arsenal surely can spend 10 million on the odd player. It just seems Wenger is reluctant to buy anyone older than 25. He has spend big on Walcott and Ramsay who are talents only. They get 60,000 every week so the mortgage on the Emirates surely has to be covered and they are regularly in the CL until the later stages.
  3. I can see this also. Too many clubs are raising the bar with wages, eventually it will spread out and staying in the top league will be the only means of survival yet 3 HAVE to go down every year. And its not easy getting straight back up. Also the likes of Chelsea and Man City could make Leeds look a success if the owners walk away. liverpool are in a mess also, they have a 350million loan to the RBS who have just lost billions. I dont know where Newcastle and Spurs keep finding 10-20 million here and there. There will be a few good exceptions of well run clubs and Wengers policy of not spending might not look too bad after all.
  4. Fuckin Blackburn!!!
  5. Flood doing his next employers a favour! Id rather an OF final anyway, we are well due 1. 19,000 - shocking!
  6. 2000 Dundee Utd fans outside the ground 15 mins into the game due to only a few turnstiles being opened. Also buses turned away from the car park despite having passes. Hampden Pitch in a messy state. Yet another call for summer football. It really sickens me how so much brainless idiots are running a top level football organisation. Its gone beyond embarrassing, they just cant get anything right. 2000 fans travelling down on a cold midweek night and they cant get into the National Stadium!!!!
  7. Got a 20 quid treble on which isnt looking too good at half time Blackburn (losing 2-0 at home to Bolton) Chelsea (drawing 0-0 at home to Boro) West Ham (winning 1-0 at home to Hull)
  8. Watching Everton v Arsenal and bits of Wigan v Liverpool. but the highlight of these games so far was the Mcdonald delivery guy knocking on my door with breakfast! Poor games. Arsenal have to win. But I cant understand why Wenger refuses to sign. He has Walcott Rosicky Eduardo and Fabregas out so needs a big name in there or they wont have a chance of the title. Arshavin and Micah Richards are rumoured and would be 2 good signings.
  9. Gav is right, there is plenty of girls who see this as an attention seeker when it comes to players. Girls like this should be locked up for trying to make a quid at the expense of a mans life. On the same token players cant use there superstar status to get themselves in situations. Girls can be insecure and can give out the wrong vibes to players with a drink in them. If players do carry out such thing then they should be hung like the rest of rapists. Every situation has to be taken seperatly on this.
  10. Getting first team football will help him but i just get the feeling we wont see the best of Smith again, he has had a tough time. Hope im wrong though
  11. Next week then! Too soon for me, im looking towards then end of Feb. Il have a look at our fixture card to see how we have in the league
  12. What date is the game? Im planning a trip over Feb/March so want to take a game in.
  13. What was the crowd last night? By going to the semi final does it mean you get a final ticket? or how does it work?
  14. Id say there is a shout for Novo, Boyd and Miller to be in the team or swap Miller with Fleck. That way WS gets his 4-5-1 / 4-3-3 with proper players in the wider positions and Davis benefits by moving in one.
  15. You enjoy it! You've been so use to smoke signals and birds flying in with the messages in recent times
  16. Robinho is making a mockery of things, he'll end up getting Hughes the sack. If i was Hughes id be trying to punt him to Chelsea in a deal for Malouda even if they made a loss on him
  17. Aye, then he held the ball before it went out for a throwing to get his 2nd card - silly guy! Portsmouth board are still willing to fund Adams though, they are linked with a few players today
  18. That thought would never cross my mind either except if your name is Jon
  19. Novo is a must for the remainder of the season - a true attack minded player with talent. He can score when playing upfront! Ibrox used to be a lot wider IIRC but we narrowed it about 10 years ago. If you look at clips from the mid 90s its much wider.
  20. Is that a 24 hour outcall contact Frankie??? Remember Im 8 hours ahead and need my daily dose of Gersnet with my coffee in the morning ;)
  21. I wasnt close last night: Rangers - Won Spurs - Won Birmingham - Won Peterboro - Won Mk Dons - Lost Sheff U - Lost
  22. Me also, but i managed to catch the final whistle
  23. Portsmouth fans chanting "you dont know what your doing" to Adams
  24. LOL But totally agree, I cant think of 2 bigger failures at managerial level. Butcher has been rank rotten at Coventry, Sunderland, Brentford, Sydney and Motherwell. Malpas was worse at Motherwell and Swindon. Gretna had a better chance of survival last season than Inverness have now!
  25. Strange decision, his managerial career has been shocking. Yet they had a few decent people interested. Hopefully he quits the Scotland set up aswell. That may do the national team a favour. Get Gary McAllister in there as No.2.
