  1. Of course he gets my backing if WS gives him the nod. But would i pick him to start in this game - no. But agree with his comment: WS doesnt seem to share this opinion though.
  2. Yeah help picking the team :fish: Thats not a yes Terry!!!! But there is no common sense with fixtures and there never has been. OF games are stuck roght after huge internationals etc. I agree the SPL should be prepared to move fixtures to assist the national team. Its sad when we have to debate such thing. What would be the SPL's problem - the fact they arent the ones making the decision ir came up with the idea!!!!?
  3. Pretty much agree with that Craig. If Rangers signed a player direct from Celtic Id have no problems with this if it improved the team. Its all about how you view the rivalry, if you see Celtic like you view suicide bombers then what hope does this world have. Yes, there support have its filth in numbers but the footballing side of it doesnt have to sink that low.
  4. He should certainly have an idea of who / what (formation) he intends to play and he has been helped with the Forfar game being called off IMO.
  5. I think its ok to have 2 formations to rotate to like he did for Europe. But he doesnt help by playing players out of positions. I dont think anyone on here would have a go if he was 1) a bit more positive 2) didnt set out his team worrying about the opposition (bar big CL teams) and 3) played players in proper positions. EDIT - he has his favourties aswell. To move McCulloch to 4 or 5 positions before playing a) other first teamers in their natural position and b) youngsters will have other players scratching there heads wondering what they have to do to get a try.
  6. Wasnt the renovation of the main stand at hampden to do with getting the CL final in 2002?
  7. Im talking about LA Galaxy, his move there was purely for money and fame. If it was a long term thing to bring in US soccer than why is he desperate to get away and join Milan.
  8. Beckham?? Kaka would be a better example turning down that Man City wage to stay at Milan.
  9. Not only does WS not know his best XI he has never settled on what formation to play. You need to choose your formation first IMO then get plays into your roles. The odd change here and there is ok, i.e. when we were playing Barca in the CL but to chop and change for Aberdeen and a poor Celtic team is a nonsense.
  10. Should we book a bed for you in Glasgow Royal Infirmary for monday now???
  11. Sorry but thats no reason for me not to pull on a Rangers shirt. Thats a victorian reason.
  12. Aaron or Beasley???
  13. The pendulum has swung a bit for OF games at parkhead since WS came back - we are now able to compete there again after a few shocking seasons were we were lucky to get a shot on goal. We've had 2 great wins there and IMO been unlucky in the 2 we lost. So I feel a lot more confident going to parkhead these days, its a big open pitch thats suits us more than them IMO. They have a shocking defence so if WS puts out an offensive team like the last game and has a go at them I fancy our chances
  14. The redevelopment was so the fat cats get nicer offices rather than the old worn down stand. There was no way they would swap that decision to put it into roots of the game. Have to say Im a fan of Hampden also from a traditional point of view, but just not the design and capacity. The ruined it when they made it an all seater, if they were doing this they should have thought about the design and future expansion. Its old design could easy hold double its capacity now and form an excellent atmosphere. Even the 1987 cup final between St Mirren and Dundee Utd pulled in 57,000 - there is no way they would fill hampden now due to the changes in the game. But IMO it definatly needs thought about. As i mentioned before Tynecastle will be able to hold semi finals between 2 non OF teams once there stand is done.
  15. Is there any underdogs left in the tournament, ive forgetten the draw. I hope a smaller team goes onto win it now. IIRC the draw for the next round is cracking
  16. Anyone lucky enough to be going on Sunday? I know Gisabeer has a ticket seen as he opens mail all day until he finds a ticket :fish: I'll be settling for the sofa but having an earlier K/O suits me. Craig you will have to get up early wont you?
  17. Thats how a 4-5-1 should be played so it turns into a 4-3-3 on attack. What a relief it is having Bougherra fit for this game. It should also mean Whittaker doesnt play. As Frankie says if we go 4-5-1 then we need 3 offensive players behind that. I just wonder if Edu will come in for this game. ____________________Mcgregor_______________ Broadfoot_____Bougherra_____Weir________Papac __________Ferguson___________Edu___________ ______Davis__________Mendes_________Fleck___ ____________________Lafferty________________
  18. I think he will stick, i cant see him thinking about defeat so that will be enough to make him go defensive. I also cant see him going 4-4-2 with wide players as Celtic are likely to pack the central midfield with Robson, Hartley and whoever else plays centre mid for them. BUT IF we had Ferguson on top of his game with Mendes then those 2 would be enough to handle that along with Davis on the right and Fleck on the left. But I can see a McCulloch or Edu coming in for this game, but if he goes with Davis aswell then that means Mendes, Ferguson, Davis and McCulloch/Edu all playing which is very narrow. Murray Park will be a interesting place this week to see what is being tried out.
  19. Thats a long read, will look forward to that tomorro morning with my coffee at work.
  20. Heart says Rangers, head says a draw. I cant remember the last OF draw, its been a while so i think we're due one. I think WS will set the team out not to lose and both sides will cancel each other out. But my heart over rules and il go: Celtic 0 Rangers 1 (Davis)
  21. Agree with Alan, he is on form and exactly the type of player Scotland needs. Id play him.
  22. I think if Murrayfield was used as the national stadium we wouldnt have a debate. Its got a fine capacity to host the bigger Scotland games and would allow an extra 15000 in for an OF derby. But i dont think Denmark has a team who could pull together a crowd like the OF can regardless of Copenhagens population. OF fans come from everywhere in the UK on a weekly basis.
  23. Id even settle for Boyd to net the winner
  24. Yip agree with the lads here. Hampden should have been built with further expansion in mind and should be at least be able to hold 65000. If Murrayfield can fill 67500 for the rugby then the football could easily be sold out for the big games. Having 3 govering bodies and 4 divisions is a joke aswell. Decisions and the set up are laughable. The SPL split is a joke aswell where a team finishing 7th can have enough points to qualify for europe but they cant leap the team in 6th!!!
  25. People will be getting put off by Abramovic ways in sacking managers so quickly. Ist like a game to him. Ranieri was sacked Jose was probably told to leave for some bizarre reason Grant Sacked Scolari sacked Read on BBC that Grant is a contender again!! - Bizarre if true. I think Zola will have to be mentioned along with Vialli and Di Matteo
