  1. Tip of the weekend - Newcastle to beat Liverpool!
  2. Seems to be doing well at Blackpool but they can keep him IMO. Adam showed glimpes of skill but was generally awful IMO. Id rather see Gow tried on the left than Adam.

    Predictions

    Rangers 2-0 Hearts Miller, Davis
  4. You make me feel good after some of the bets ive had! Today: West Ham Scunthorpe St Mirren 16/1
  5. To be fair to beckham he was receiving death threats and had idiots shouting at him wishing horrible things happening to his family.
  6. Agree with that, however Id love to try entice Bougherra to stay and if than means give him the captaincy then so be it. I do think he might be the sort of player who wouldnt perform aswell with the armband though. But he is a key man to keep!
  7. What the club needs is a drinking session somewhere Seriously I think morale will be fine
  8. Cheers Chick
  9. Nilis was a 5 star striker in 1 of the old Championship manager game. Was surprised to see his name against us for PSV...quality striker on his day and got a shocking injury at Villa.
  10. Hands down Bougherra for me. - Consistant all year and easily our best player. Mendes was great first few months but had a quiet lot of games. Davis shows potential but does he raise eyebrows??? not for me. Must be moved inside now that ferguson is dropped. Boyd - Cant work out why he gets in the squad never mind shortlisted for POTY Weir - Consistant and reliable. But could blow a tire at any time. What does it say about our play when for the second year in a row our POTY is a defender....and before that it was a defensive midfielder (Hemdani). The last REAL POTY for me was Prso. No disrespect to Bougherra and Cuellar but Prso won the title.

  13. Obviously nobody else bothered to enter
  14. A bit start and stop as its sent from my mobile: Amougst others and against some, I think i can 110% share the sentiments of my fellow poster - Pete - that an elephant came off the shoulders of many a man at Ibrox yesterday. FINALLY Walter Smith showed some ruthless-ness (if thats a word) in dealing with a couple of men who think they are head and shoulders above 10000s of true Rangers men and women! Barry Ferguson and Allan McGregor have it all. Fat paychecks with no need to worry about any gas bill and employment within the GREATEST 4 walls of Great Britain! Thats right folks - Ibrox is up there with the very best when it comes to stadia - if it wasnt for the the silly Euro money going to England we would still oust Old Trafford IMO. These guys pulled on the blue jersey thinking of nothing but themselves. Ferguson and McGregor got to pull the on shirt in week in week out but this went to there heads thinking they couldnt ever be brought back to life - How Walter Smith turned the clock back in style to put the stuffin into that then!!! Personally I am a Walter fan and 1 who tends to lean towards his 9IAR achievments - however i had been questioning his mentality for the past 2-3 months about his desire for Rangers and bizarre tactics! - The Past 24 hours have shown and proved to me that the MAN is still there!!!! He has shown up George Burley on how to deal with a man! IMO if the 7 particapants walked in protest last weekend then id have paid for everyone of there taxis home! If thats what playing for Scotland means these days then call up 11 hard working men who WANT to be there. I really dont know if Walter rubbed his hands at this weeks event to get rid of the bad apple in the side! I actually still think WS thought deep down BF could still be a player for Rangers like most of us hope. On a side note, Only an Excuse must be sending thank you cards to Ibrox right now for giving them the material for the next show! But at the same time Paul Le Guen must be break dancing at the latest show to come from Ibrox. For me we have taken a huge step in the RIGHT direction this week. For 1 - Neil Alexander will deservedly be between the sticks from now on. Allan McGregor hand the world at his feet but blew it! I went as far as saying we lost the SPL last season due his injury but he turning into a loose cannon who would rather thnk of himself rather than what he was actyally achieving in life - Andy Goram must be shaking his head! Noboody liked a drink more than The Goalie but the legend knew his priorities! I firmly believe we will start seeing players come out there shell's now that Ferguson is dropped. I think he is the worst Rangers captain in my lifetime and defines everything that is wrong with the club right now. His negativity shows throughout the whole team. Now is the time to seen Davis and Mendes tick! Rangers have proved onces again that WE are bigger than anyone! Thanks to Walter for that!! I firmly believe this weeks events are a boost to the club and can see us booming onto the title!! Dear Barry and Allan - I feel embarrassed even thinking about what you did to the cameras - I have no idea how embarrassed you will personally feel! The word that defines you is idiot! You graced the tru colours of Rangers and Scotland and turned it into a laughing stock! Justice will be served if we go onto win the SPL title while you watch in the stands with your 2 middle fingers....and even better if Scotland go onto the World Cup! Step forward Davie Weir! You will wear the captains armband with proud and be a stop gap for the Queens 11. But you know yourself Weir will retire soon meandin one Magic Bougherra can step forward and become Rangers next captain!!!!
  15. The way this season is panning out has similarites to Smiths final season in the 90s. A team running out of fuel fast! He continues to play guys who have nothing in the tank and players out of position. Although the quality of this team cant be compared to one in the 90s. But silly defeats like at home to Inverness remind me too much of Rugby Park and Pittodrie in 1998. McCulloch, Ferguson and Dailly all on the park/squad ahead of younger and fresher players like Aaron, Edu, Fleck is mind blowing. Ferguson along with Davie Weir is playing too much games. Everyman and his dog can see they arent fit to play every game so should be being used sparingly to get the best out of them, then we might see some better performances from BF rather than someone who isnt even a shadow of what he did 7 years ago. BF should start thinking about Rangers first rather than be an auto pick every game. Surely he must know he is struggling to run games these days. Celtic are no great shakes and I firmly believe if we had Davis and Mendes in the centre midfield they would have pulled the strings a lot better. Novo should have been on the right rather than coming wide left and Dailly coming on is an embarrassment after he hasnt kicked a ball all season. Lee McCulloch continues to be selected in every postion available. He does a ok job defensively by breaking up the odd opposition move but offensively and technically he offers nothing. The league and Scottish cup double is still firmly in our sights but if WS doesnt start to set his teams out with a hint of common sense then we will be runners up all on fronts. He needs to start playing to our strengths and forgetting about the opposition. Right now if we meet Aberdeen in the Scottish cup final id be surprised if WS made any changes from yesterdays 16 players. Next season we need to rid the dead wood once and for all. Mendes is suffering with 'past it' players next to him. He should be the focal point along with Davis, Thomson, Bougherra, Novo, McGregor and Papac for me. The rest aren't at the races. To think we started the season with about 9 strikers but WS still doesnt know who / want to play is concerning. Miller shows promise in some games but thats not good enough, his problem is when he has 1 bad game he will suffer more than the rest. Lafferty is the same, he shows glimpes of skill then shows he has no end product. But i dont think WS is doing any of our strikers favours by switching personnel and formation on a weekly basis. Young Fleck and Aaron are potentially good enough but the way they have been introduced is all wrong and the pressure on them could affect the way they develop. After 3 appearances each, both of these young players are expected to be match winners! Edu and Velicka continue to not feature in games but id rather see these two given some match time before judging. They deserve it more than half the team. We cant win every tournament but id rather see us lose after having a good go at the opposition, then we could hold our hands up and say there wasnt anything else we could do rather then picking the obvious errors that continue to baffle the fans.
  16. Agree with Gisabeer.... I hope Miller signs a contract extenstion. He has been carrying an injury for weeks hence his poor form. Ws should never have played him. This did damage to BF also. Didnt anyone notice how much we improved when he came on against Celtic?? Some of his touches were delightful!!! Yet too many fans simply saw him wearing a hooped jersey - wake up
  17. hey, i didnt play for West Ham U12s for nothing!!!! A paper round cut my career short :fish: Mate, this is the main point that we dont need to worry about. If the team is good enough then we will win games. His goals dont guarentee anything until we have wrapped 3 pts - if he is the weekly matchwinner then your right. We won many titles before without worrying if McCoist would be fit etc. We used to worry about Laudrup being out the team from 94-97 but can you honestly compare Boyd to Laudrup?????
  18. Final comment on Boyd for me. The guy is lazy and moody and is fitting into the "Barry Ferguson mind" of thinking he is Mr Rangers and deserves a place in the team rather than earning it. These are a few of the reasons i dont like him playing as it effects the team all over. His mood spread throughout the team. Not to mention the fact it is like playing with 10 men when he plays. I flash back to Motherwell away when Ferguson was dropped and he pointed the number 6 to Ferguson in the stand after Le Guen had the guts to drop Ferguson. This to me was totally disrespectful and showed an opinion that being a rangers fan to these players meant more than PLAYING for Rangers. There is no doubt that the guy can find the back of the net - yet so can i if you give me a ball and set me up 50 times. Also if you gave me 10000 pounds a week you would see me running my bollocks off in the gym and getting myself in great shape so i could give my all for the team. It wouldnt take George Burley to play a couple of other players ahead of me to kick start my Rangers career!!! Im sorry but Boyd is childish and he carries a depressing attitude onto the park for simply not getting a game!!! We dont need this attitude at Rangers. Id love to see what the likes of Sir Alex would do with a sulker like this!! The sooner Rangers get rid of negativeness like this then we will start winning again!!!.
  19. Pretty much agree with Cammy here. I was a huge critic of McLeish yet looking back now i didnt appreciate the tough times Rangers were dealt with. McLeishs biggest problem was he was coming in on the back of a hugely succesful Rangers era where trophies were as common as muck but he had to tighten the shoe laces. He did inherit a wonderful group of players and got them working well. His team had is scoring 93 goals 1 season from all over the park which won us the title. But his later days had too many fans scratching there heads, he defined the words 'baffling tactics'. McLeish was also the start of a bad trend of siging run of the mill SPL players. He also picked players out of reputation rather than form. Whether this was down to his thoughts of the game or our budget is down to opinion. His career at Birmingham will give evidence on this. As for next Gers boss - Steve Bruce would be a great shout!!!
  20. You get paid for being a copper in Glasgow???? :fish: I know what you mean chief. I had a season ticket holder and the thought of getting up at 7am to go to a Dunfermline game wasnt appealing anymore compared to when i was 15 or 16 in the 90s and couldnt sleep on a friday night with the excitement of getting on a train and going to Rangers for a day out. Changed days!!!! Ibrox has lost its touch!! The club dont help this at all! They cant even play decent pre match music to try and excite the fans. As you say Gav, the purchase of a ST is to cover Celtic games.
  21. Fuck this. I give up.
  22. I get slated for not rating boyd and get called anti Boyd yet the abuse Miller gets is way above what i say about Boyd. At least I stick to the football side of things. And Im not saying I rate Miller highly, i think he is going through a bad patch at the moment but he isnt overall useless.
  23. Thats our opinion and thats what we are debating. We dont beleive in his abilites. You cant debate if you dont allow someone to have an opinion. If we all agreed then the forums would be filled with posts saying "i agree" Twisted in your view maybe, personally i think thats an extreme comment to think its twisted when we simply what better for our team. And I think you will find the Rangers fans are split on the mans game. Until we got a poll from a fair number of fans you cant claim fans or others in the game agree. WS happens to be more knowledgable than some fans yet he seems to agree Boyd is very limited. I dont see debate being impossible at all, those who think Boyd is limited have stated there reason - simple debate IMO. Your thinking its impossible simply because we dont agree with your opinion.
  24. Any bets this weekend chaps?? I'll bet having a few on the OF game. Was so close at parkhead last time with having miller as last scorer until that Nakamura scored.
  25. Ian, I was just glad to see Craig continue it well after a few other comments about people being unreasonable and timposters for having an opinion.
