  1. Yup Im with you there. Wrong game for him to start. Who am I to question SG but that XI was too easy to pick - it therefore means they all go on the front foot and play 100%.
  2. Wouldnt disagree with that. Its maybe something SG will leave until 60-70 minutes depending on the score and how we are playing though. I cant see him going away from a midfield trio of Davis, Kamara and Aribo with Arfield, Kent and Morelos. Going forward in a game where can experiment a bit Id like to see how a 4-5-1 (4-2-3-1) would look with the 3 being Wright on the right, Hagi in the centre and Kent out left.
  3. Agree going all out attack, and I think we can afford to as our defense and keeper are rock solid anyway. The League was top priority and the balance of power has swung so we should be going all out. Line up will be interesting but Id like to see Hagi start. I always like the look of us when both Hagi and Kent are on the park.
  4. I dont think Ive seen a good game at the new Wembley yet. Keys and Gray were discussing it last night and it doesnt have a Wembley feeling about it compared to the old ground which I fully agree. Foden has taken Silva place in the line up but a different player altogether, Foden is direct and takes on players but Silva was a genius who could unlock a defence with a pass. Gundogan has done well but not in the same bracket as Silva. Kane or Haaland would fit right into that side - probably more so Kane who is proven in the Premier League.
  5. Not a bad days action. The Blades relegation is confirmed. I think I had them around 15th at the start of the season, didnt think they would be as good as previous season but didnt expect them to go down. Its a bit of good riddance for me as its a club I dont like too much. And Norwich return is confirmed. Id imagine Watford will be joining them after Swansea were held at home by Wycombe. But it looks like both Sheffield clubs will face relegation with Wednesday unfortunately going back to League one. Newcastle 3-2 West Ham - the scoreline should have been a gimmie but a bizarre couple of minutes saw Newcastle two up with some horrendous West Ham mistakes only for it to be 2-2 out of nothing. Then WH collapsed after getting level. Thats CL over for West Ham IMO, it was a must win game. But Id take Europa. And Chelsea keep going with Man City Quadruple over. Here is fact / stat of the day - Tuchel has outwitted Mourinho, Klopp, Ancelotti, Guardiola and Simeone (twice) this calendar year without conceding a goal. The shrewd move from Roman is well paying off.
  6. Good game at Goodison even though Everton only deserve credit for trying to play football. Spurs are going backwards fast. Kane took his goals very well, but its two mistakes at the back. Everton still need 3-4 players to have a charge at being a top 6 side.
  7. Would have been a good Friday night game under the lights if there was a full house inside Goodison. There is at least one Premier game for the next 10 days due to rearranged matches, Ive gone with my predictions until this Monday: Everton 1-1 Tottenham Newcastle 2-2 West Ham Wolves 2-0 Sheff Utd Arsenal 3-0 Fulham Man Utd 2-0 Burnley Leeds 2-2 Liverpool FA CUP Brucie Bonuses: Chelsea 2-1 Man City aet Leicester 3-1 Southampton
  8. I had no idea Stein even went to Leeds. Was this around the time Brian Clough went there for about 40 days or something like that? In reverse, it makes you wonder what how good managers who punch above their weight on tight budgets would be like with an open Cheque book. Dyche and Howe are examples of this - but they are not fashionable enough. I think Moyes is an exempt example from his Man Utd time as the footsteps he had to follow were too big and the Man Utd fans took years to get over him and the board room change at the time also rocked the club - but this season at West Ham running things HIS way has put his stock right back up their.
  9. Good comeback from Man City after an early scare with the pressure on as they had to score. Id fancy City over PSG more so than against Bayern for some reason even though Mbappe is the best player from either squad. Madrid got the job done but disappointing to see the Real bus getting a smashed window with a bottle upon arriving to the ground. The Liverpool "fans" seem to think this lining the streets for the oppositions bus is a good thing. It might have worked first time but since then there has just been silliness. Semi line up: Man City v PSG Real Madrid v Chelsea Im sticking with Man City to reach the final. The Real v Chelsea one is tough to call. Madrid are the competition experts while Chelsea are looking strong.

    Brandon Barker

I was randomly going through all the league tables this morning and saw Oxford are only 3 pts off the play offs and wondered where that came from as they were nowhere near it last time I checked. Glad to know Barker is performing. He kinda splits the support but I quite liked him and think he has something in him.
  11. 2 out of 2 for me. I fancied Bayern to win on the night but not overturn the agg. Im still not a fan of away goals especially at this level. Fair play to PSG scoring 3 in Munich but overall the tie was a draw IMO and I would like to see away goals scrapped. I didnt realise both legs of the Chelsea Porto game was played in Seville - imagine that went down to away goals with both ties being played on a neutral ground! Tonight I'll stick with City and Real to go through. Out of the teams left in it I hope the winners of Dortmund v City go on and lift the trophy. I wouldnt want to see any of the others win it.
  12. Back to the second legs. Tuesday: Chelsea (2) v Porto (0). Id be very surprised if Chelsea throw this away, Porto did win in Turin so are a good side but Chelsea and looking good. Havertz is looking like a world beater. I still think Giroud is their best option upfront with Havertz behind him. PSG (3) v Bayern (2) - this could be another belter. Bayern have to come out and attack which could leave them open at the back. Bayern are the masters at this stage but they need to score at least twice so I think its a stretch to much. Wednesday: Dortmund (1) v Man City (2) - This one is wide open. City will bring 7 players back in who were on the bench against Leeds. Dortmund are not great in the Bundesliga this season but strong in the CL. This one is open but I fancy City to win the competition so will stick with them. Liverpool (1) v Real Madrid (3) - If there was a full 50000 packed Anfield Id be tipping Liverpool to go through but I can see Real scoring on the night meaning Liverpool may need 4 goals.
  13. Just a bit too late. If there was 10 games to go they would have a sniff but they only have 7 and its a tough run in. They have played very well last two games.
  14. Yeah - Didnt he put in a written request for a move to a Championship side down south? For me he has went past Shankland who I liked last season and thought he could do a job, that was when there was rumours about Dykes. Aside - another 3 points and the phenomenal 100% home record continues.
  15. The Hammers march on but they are making it a bit nervy. 3-3 with Arsenal, 3-2 at Wolves and another 3-0 lead against Leicester almost blown. I just feel goal difference and injuries are going to cost West Ham a first CL spot. Players are dropping like flies at the moment and the squad isnt big enough. Cresswell coming off yesterday was a huge loss, we were well in control until he went off. Rice is already out and Noble took a bad one to the arm and had to go off. Antonio is out for the season. But Jesse Lingard - outstanding. And J Bowen - what a first season in the top flight. I can also see Leicester dropping out again, Chelsea and Liverpool have momentum and will probably pass them. Man Utd continuing this amazing away record but I still dont see them long term becoming champs again, its almost just fell into place for them. Newcastle win has probably finalized relegation. What a turn around from Saint-Maximum when he came on.
  16. I think they can afford one slip up and would have thought they had enough on the pitch to get something. If Man Utd do win their games in hand the gap would still be 8 pts. Clearly the CL game against Dortmund was the priority along with the semi final against Chelsea next weekend.
  17. Aston Villa were unlucky to lose it so late especially after Martinez pulled off save of the season seconds before the winner. Man City v Leeds was a good game to watch with City looking for a goal but the Leeds winner was quality.
  18. Fulham 1-1 Wolves Man City 4-0 Leeds Liverpool 2-0 Aston Villa Crystal Palace 0-2 Chelsea Burnley 1-0 Newcastle West Ham 2-2 Leicester Tottenham 2-1 Man Utd Sheff Utd 1-1 Arsenal West Brom 2-1 Southampton Brighton 1-1 Everton
  19. I fancy Dortmund in the second leg. Fantastic result for PSG, didnt see that one coming. Chelsea quietly coming through. Thats the best result of the games.
  20. I cant recall a team scoring 5 in one game with all goals being top quality, the first one was route one but the lob finish was great. 3 good goals in a game has happened numerous occasions but not 5. Maybe the 1996 Laudrup and Durie Final v Hearts (Thats if Laudrups cross that went through the keepers legs was meant ? ) but Durie's second was almost fumbled in. The usual Arsenal are back, another humping from Liverpool for them. Top 4 blown wide open. if Tottenham, Everton and West Ham win then 5 teams will be separated by 3 points.
  21. Wow. Two sublime goals.
  22. Unreal turnaround at Stamford Bridge. And a good game. Chelsea go infront and you think its a routine home victory but Thiago daftly jumps in for no reason and is sent off. West Brom had wasted a couple of free kicks and didnt look like scoring then route one out of nothing they are level with a fine lob. They have another few chances missed then a well worked second goal. Tuchel got the sub wrong after going to 10 men, he has to just go with a back four with James and Alonso moving to be the full backs and leave the rest on the players on the field and play 4-4-1. Hope the Baggies can hold on.
