  1. I dont think there is anything wrong with rotation, its worked wonders for Man Utd this season. Look at the likes of Park, Fletcher, Anderson Scholes and Giggs. Its all about the players who come in and arent up to the level. If Liverpools squad players were better then nobody would question the rotation. The other factor about Benitez in the summer is he surely knows Arsenal and Chelsea will spend to improve and Man Utd may get Ribery so if Liverpool dont get a world class player or 2 to go with Gerrard and Torres then he might not have a chance of the league.
  2. Yeah i see what your saying and it should be done more often when expectations are high and multi-million pound players dont perform. But Hull were on a great run, and in a position that they couldnt dream. Brown acted like they were a team of superstars not pulling their weight. And he kept his silly microphone on to make him look important.
  3. One thing about Lafferty is that was his best performance on the left wing. Id still prefer him upfront next season but he did well on yesterday.
  4. With City it will depend on the owners and the signings. But agree Hughes may start the season but i cant see him finishing it. I think Levein wants a crack at England again, he has admitted that. And with not qualifying for europe he may move on. As long as he isnt the next Gers boss i dont care. With Benitez it will depend if he is in full control and has money to spend. If he doesnt get 3 world class players then he may move on. Madrid will have an open cheque book for him.
  5. I disagree Jon, at the time they were flying and in the top 8 in the league. They had won at Arsenal and Spurs amoungst other places. He forgot that they were a championship team punching above their weight. It seemed to all be about him. The game at Man City was their first bad performance and maybe a one-off plus Man City were on fire that day. He shouldnt have embarrassed the players like that for one bad first half performance and it almost cost them. Since then they got beat almost every week.
  6. Whats the opinions on Brown?? After embarassing his team they have been awful. Now he is taking plaudits like this! Ok he will be happy to stay up but its due to Newcastle being so poor. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/h/hull_city/8066339.stm
  7. Hope Burnley go up today rather than Sheff Utd. That would top of a nice weekend of results
  8. Some comeback, i checked the score at 2-1 then flicked over at the end and saw they won 3-2. Cant stand Millwall
  9. Just wondering who will come and go after a hectic season. Aberdeen and Sunderland the first to announce changes yesterday. I can see the following clubs have changes: Newcastle Chelsea Man City Portsmouth Hearts Dundee Utd And I wouldnt be surprised to see Liverpool have a change with Benitez going to Real Madrid.
  10. I think its great he walked away. He will be turning round to the fans and saying Ive got you in europe again and you want me out. They were always flirting in the bottom half before he arrived. Calderwood is a decent manager, you could see that with Dunfermline and look at them now! He will pick up a job in England and do ok in the Championship. Good luck to him and John - yes he is a Gers fan.
  11. Newcastle, Boro and West brom all down in the end. You would have to say West brom are probably the best equipped to get back up next season. They know what that league is all about and they will be prepared financially. Sunderland will have a new manager, that Ricky Scrabgia or whatever quit after the game. Niall Quinn as to be the biggest patroniser in the game with his words after it. I just dont ever see Sunderland being a top 8 club despite having a good stadium, big fan base and some money. Well done Zola at West Ham and Steve Clarke deserves plaudits aswell. Those 2 started slowly but for once I see stability with West Ham rather than a team who could win 5-0 one week then get beat 5-0 the next. Arsenal looked amazing in the first half against Stoke, if they add a top keeper, top defender and top holding / tough tackling midfielder then they will challenge next season.
  12. I thought they would somehow get out of it but they are absolutely rank and deserve to go down. Their players are just finished: Owen - been past it for years now. Viduka - Overweight, overpaid, useless lump Duff - Has never been the same player since going there Smith - That leg break finished him Barton - Idiot Butt - Past it Nolan - had one good season at Bolton, well out his depth at NUFC As John says their wage bill is ridiculous and they will have to sell off half the squad and replace with cheaper players. The Championship is going to be tough for them to get out of. They are the biggest team to go down since Leeds and West Ham. Leeds went into free fall and are still in league one while West Ham went about it the right way and 2 seasons out the top flight has done them wonders. Again, agree with John that Shearer isnt the man to lead them. He has all the passion and knows his football but I dont think he is ready to be a top manager. They need a full overhaul at that club from top to bottom. Ive no idea who would be the right man to take them forward.
  13. Good opening post Calscot and cant add anything to it. Like you Ive been totally confident all season and I agree on WS. WS gave me some of my best Rangers moments in the 90s so regardless of what he did in this spell he would always have my support even though I have made a few comments about his selections and tactics this season. But the fact is this time next week we should be sitting on a double with auto entry to the CL. He has earned that so deserves a crack at it.
  14. He seemed genuinely delighted after all. I did wonder how he would react but fair play to him. I think the majority will admit its time for BF to move on. But I think he plays better when he isnt the main man or captain so it will be interesting to see if he stays and gets a good pre-season under him.
  15. Surely Webster didnt get one???
  16. Walter found a gem in Cuellar, Ive no idea how he managed to do the same again with Bougherra! If only he could get 1 more to partner Bougherra and build a defensive partnership, Weir's legs are about done and we cant rely on him for another full season with CL games coming up. Weir should be used for big important matches only.
  17. Tough to pick a MOTM out of that lot yesterday. Bougherra is just immense though!
  18. Couldnt agree more Kyle, that was in the top 3 performances of the season along with Celtic 4-2 and Hibs 3-0.
  19. Walter has delivered, and if he adds the Scottish Cup next week then he has given us a very succesful season. As Gav says his tactics were spot on yesterday and thats the type of performance a Rangers team should be coming out to do every week. Utd couldnt get a sniff of the ball. That team yesterday showed there is potential if they raise their game. Its a huge psychological lift for us over Celtic aswell.
  20. Papac played superbly especially in the first half, as you say John that block was proper defending. He and Bougherra are key parts of the defence. Bougherra is just immense!
  21. I also meant like Hearts having to go to Ibrox 3 times and us going to Easter Rd 3 times, that needs balanced out.
  22. Ive noticed Utd havent been that great at all at home however their record against us in the last few years has been strong. It used to be Aberdeen who really raised their game against us but it seems to be Utd now. But as i mentioned on another thread the SPL sides seem to have a go in general now. Its made a great end to the season, but its still unfair and imbalanced and should be scrapped if they cant sort ot out to make teams play the same amount of home and away games.
  23. Only todays matches plus the cup finals to go before a summer saving few months. Few tough matches to predict today. But one bet that jumped out at me was the 4 relegation threatened teams in the Premier League all to draw is 150/1 Villa v Newcastle (id go for a draw here anyway) Hull v Man Utd (If its Man Utd reserves then a draw is on the cards) Sunderland v Chelsea (Chelsea players will be on the beach already) West Ham v Boro (Boro will fight for everything, WH on the beach already) Worth a quid or 2!
  24. Gribz

    Nerves

Your right there, especially with mine and SAlly's picks! One more round of games today to try get some cash back, im well down this season!
  25. Quite ironic/appropriate you have Bougherra in the background there! Those 2 could be the key men to win it!
