  1. I put Bergkamp on my list in the other thread before I even saw this thread Awesome awesome player! Cool as a cucumber! Do you think the commentator got the goalscorer right in the opening goal though??? The music is alright actually..typical Euro dance music! Pete probably has that album. EDIT - i still cant get my head round that goal at Newcastle! Utter brilliance!
  2. Agreed, definatly not a step forward at the moment. I think he realised he wouldnt be a definate first pick at Liverpool so had to move to the likes of Man City. From Man Citys point of view its a good signing, he is a solid player who adds to their squad.
  3. Maradona Roberto Baggio Dennis Bergkamp Ryan Giggs
  4. But you can bet (although you would probably lose :fish:) that if Coyle made his interest to them he would have been appointed by now.
  5. Ive never even heard of the 2 St Mirren players or Lee Wallace of Hearts. Langfield in goal???????? Is he having a laugh?!!
  6. Im in the Novo must stay camp! He leads by example attitude wise and i think he has impacts starting some games aswell. He is the classic player to bring on and remind the team when they are taking the foot off the peddle a bit as he ups the tempo straight away. If only he could finish!!
  7. Not sure. Did they make an official approach for him??
  8. As Johnny says they will claim it was there first choice, but the new man will feel about 5th choice. Now that 3 have been linked (Moyes, Martinez, Coyle) they will start to get desperate and I can then see McGhee coming in.
  9. Losing Ferguson and Mendes would mean we lack a bit of pressance and experience. Edu is still new and Thomson is still young and we dont know how fit he will be. I know we like an older player or 2 but if we are skint then why not ask Tugay to play on for 1 year if only for experience? He has just left Blackburn and played well all season.
  10. Agree with Calscots list and agree with Gav. I dont see the point in Aaron sitting on the bench every week without fail and getting about 97 minutes the whole season. That has a knock on effect and deprives another youngster the chance to sit on the bench.
  11. How many cases in Scotland / UK is it at now anyway??
  12. Definate wind up then!
  13. Almost agree. All footballers who earn silly money should be able to adjust to most positions on the park. But they will always have a 'best' and 'favoured' position. If a pro footballer cant fit in at a position then what is he doing on the pitch in the first place? Ive played the game to an amatuer level and so has many on here and we would know what we are supposed to do anywhere on the park and im sure if we were at it full time we would improve. Some footballers are just lazy and complain they arent a full back or a winger. Of course they wont be at their best but thats no excuse for not trying.
  14. Again agree with Jon, if we got a decent offer for a 30 year old then we should take it. But I worry about selling off too many central midfielders and going back to a few seasons ago when we were well short in that department. Especially from an attacking / creative sense. Ferguson is probably for the off, Hemdani has gone, McCulloch should be for the off even though he isnt near a central midfielder. That would leave Edu and Thomson plus possibly Davis playing in his natural postion.
  15. Thats the most accurate thing you have said all year
  16. Seconded from Craigs post. Surprising choice but he has done well at Swansea. Again doesnt scare me at all though, he is still relatively in experienced and the gold fish bowl of Glasgow will be a different level for him. If he turns it down it will make things interesting. The next choice will feel he wasnt the top man from the board and is 2nd best - thats when they end up going for a Levein or McGhee who will be out of their depth.
  17. I share the thoughts, Weir is a good addition to keep on. He wont manage 40+ games but will be a key player. I possibly thought the opposite of Frankie, have him more so for the CL games. If he is 100% for these matches then this is where his quality will show through. All depends who the new centre half would be.
  18. He gets credit where credit is due and well done to him for finally putting in a few shifts that should be the expected thing in a Gers shirt anyway! But next season i want to see a team who gives 100% in every game, we might not necessarily get a 10/10 from them but at least the effort is there! Under Boyd we wont get that and from a team point of view it would be better he moved on.
  19. Under the circumstances of things the Mendes goal was fantastic and the most enjoyable for me, but comparing the strikes then i say Novo's goal was top top notch!
  20. Not ridiculous for me. IMO we will get the same Boyd next season who blows hot and cold. We need consistancy in the team and Boyd is not consistant. We can use the cash we get for him to buy the replacement. Agree on Naismith. He has done nothing whenever he has been involved. I quite like Beasley in certain games. He is more suited at home where he has more space and time and doesnt get kicked about as much. But again he is inconsistant and injury prone. Ferguson must leave for me. Mendes should stay as his quality may shine in the champions league. If we could get him and Thomson back playing well toegther then id ba happy with that. Yip agreed on this. One minute he looks like a world beater goes on solo's, the next he gives balls away and falls over. I actually think he is better at Left back. Yeah centre half should be the priority. I cant see Davie Weir playing 40+ games next season and Id be nervousif Broadfoot was at centre half in the champions league. I dont even want to think about McCulloch in that position. Ive no idea what we will do with Andy Webster! Back up for Papac only for me. He wasnt good in midfield at all. Yip, both need more match time.
  21. We know the likes of Hemdani, Dailly, Gow and maybe Adam will move on. But what about players who are still contracted? Id like to see the following moved on: Ferguson - Past it! Definatly cant run a game anymore and is more of a passanger / liability than effective. He can look back at his Ibrox time with a fine record though! McCulloch - Shocking player. His game is so flat its unbelievable. Boyd does more work than him. I cant work out how he manages to get so many games in different positions. Thats what having a false attitude in training does! Boyd - This will kick off the Boyd debate again but i think he needs a fresh challenge. He had a good run of games at the end of the season but that doesnt cut it for me. Is it true he said he was too hot to play at half time? McGregor - This is a tough one and im split on it. If we could get 5-7million then id take it. He is a quality keeper on his day but he has went backwards on and off the park in the last 12 months. Possibly deserves one last chance. Velicka - Not too sure what the purpose of his season was. If he stays he has a lot to prove. I think the squad needs freshened up in general with some ego's and dead wood moving on.
  22. Nacho's cup final strike moves ahead of Mendes goal at Parkhead for me! What a goal! Delighted for the wee man to get it aswell. If that was Lampard or Gerrard then people would be wetting themselves over it. I didnt see the cup final but it sounded utter dross. I was getting updates and heard Falkirk were the better team but i wasnt surprised with Ferguson and McCulloch in the midfield. I saw bits of the celebrations after and McCulloch was embarrassing after what i read about him - as someone else said on another thread he is an imposter! He is a player who went from being a decent signing to one of the worst signings.
  23. I can arrange for one of them for you :fish:
  24. Gribz

    Taxi

Me and Gav's material isnt scripted and its our own words. Pete needs to sit and write his for a week before posting Anyway Jon, your used to having no taxis in your neck of the woods....cant you google only an excuse of something :fish:
  25. That goal took a wicked deflection off one of our defenders (John Brown IIRC) or we wouldnt have conceded that day!
