A players remaining contract length has to be taken into consideration when selling. Does anyone know how long Adam had left on his last contract? -
I think 90MOM was looking for comments rather than a spell check But yeah, good piece that I dont disagree with. I just wonder where our width is going to come from on both sides next season. Full backs are full backs and we shouldnt rely on them getting forward in the attacks everytime. Hutton was a different class and was our best attacker before going to Spurs but Whittaker and Papac dont have that ability. But once again its the midfield wide areas concerning me. Steven Davis will likely be first choice RM from the off next season but he is better as an inside right or centre midfielder. Id rather we signed a natural winger if possible. It all depends on what formation WS plays though. If its a 4-4-2 then we need a wide player. but if we go with 4-3-3 that Frankie's thread last week suggested, then we currently have the personnel to play that. 4-3-3 takes 3 central midfielders (we have Davis, thomson, Mendes and Edu to start with) and 3 forwards and its the forwards who provide a bit of width - Lafferty, Miller and Novo are all mobile enough to do that.

Its scary to think a player cant go into a chemist and buy cough mixture! What if you wake up around 1am with a stinking cough, cold or flu and you need to take to help you sleep!! If this is the truth and he did only buy for a cough then its shocking if he gets a ban even if he does play for Sheff Utd! Is that because there is something in the product that an athelete (not that Kenny is an athelete) shouldnt take? or was that due to overdose?

That shirt has the 3 things i said to improve the current one - round neck, straight logo and the words umbro under their logo! That shirt 87-90 was a cracker! It was the first top i bought plus we had some class players who went on wear it!

Id be gutted if Novo is sold. He is our best impact player (whether he starts or is a sub) and gives 200% every time he takes to the field. He is effective on the right and upfront. He should start every game. He is a big game player aswell in the OF and Euro matches. Personally i wouldnt grudge the wee man a crack at the premier league and a good last pay day but id im hoping he stays with us for another 2 seasons.

Yip this is globalisation mate, on all walks of life! Dont get me wrong id love to see us playing the big boys every week but id rather see it in Euro comps only - thats what the CL is for. What our game needs in Scotland is for someone with a brain to get into the SPL and SFA and revamp the league system. What is Perez on about! How much more help does he want from UEFA?. They already allow the top 4 from England, Spain and Italy entry to the CL as it is, then once the tournament starts they get favoured by seedings. If he wants to be playing the best all throughout the tournament then scrap the seedings rule and they could play someone like AC Milan in the first round. But then he wouldnt be happy as they would go out. What happens when they play Man u, Barca, Inter etc weekly and they lose. What changes will he want then! You should make yourself a success rather than be given it! As the saying goes, you dont fix what isnt broken. Football is almost the perfect game, all it needs is a few minor changes like goal line technology for those decisions only.

As Robert says I dont think we could have got much more, Id have thought 750k would have been about it, but then again Hibs just sold Fletcher for 3 million. Adam wouldnt have ever been more than a squad player. Its one of those sales that we wont notice on par with burke, S Thompson, Hughes, Malcolm etc. -
Good read. Nice to see he is hungry and I liked the comments about if he walked out its like leaving other people the problems. That says a lot when he didnt really create any of the cash problems. That does make impressive reading!!! Like SAlly says, interesting he thought Whittaker was the most consistant player since january. He wouldnt have been my pick. Mind you he doesnt say the best player since January!

He is basically asking teams to come in and bid for a player or 2. I think we will see movements this week now that pre season starts. Can see Ferguson being the first out. -

Not sure, but back in 1997-98 season we were due to realise our new kits on August 1st, yet on July 30th me and my mate were heading to France and stopped over in London. We were annoyed we wouldnt get the new top for our trip to france, but went into a football shop near Leicester Square and saw the new Gers home and away for sale! We couldnt believe it! We bought it and it was genuine. So they have to get out somehow!

Marlon Harewood isnt as bad as people make out! As I said he was key for West Ham a few years ago. He has went downhill a bit but i can think of far worse players. Its a bit like Dailly. Dailly wasnt a bad signing and came with a worse reputation than anything else. But as a stop gap for centre half he was a decent signing. Playing him RB and upfront is a bit of a joke though! Id rather Dailly stayed than McCulloch TBH. He had a decent first few months with us but has now turned into one of the worst players we've got. But he still gets played if available in ANY position! The guy played left mid, centre half and centre midfield last season yet I think he is a striker!

Same, it does look better seeing the actual top. Still not a fan of umbro and V necks but this looks ok. Still, 40 quid for one season is poor from the club (and all clubs), i much prefer tops lasting 2 seasons. EDIT Random Comment - the first top I can think of that we had for 1 season was in 1996-97, 9IAR - the top that looked similar to the France shirt! That was one of the only tops i liked with a collar.

Cant believe Man U have signed this imposter! He is finshed! Ronaldo and Tevez out.....Owen and Valencia In....Thats definatly weakened the team. Valencia is a good player but nothing like Ronaldo, and Tevez is far more effective than Owen. Owen and Berbatov upfront wont scare any teams next season!! Sir Awex likes a gamble but he going to have to go get someone else if he wants to retain the title. The title is going to the Emirates!!! 8/1 is a steal!!

To improve it, id have a round neck and umbro written under their logo, the umbro logo looks strange on its own for some reason unlike adidas and nike. I know the carling logo is slanted but it would look better straight also

About time!! Not too keen on that TBH, no offence on your drawing Frankie The squares reminds me in the kit from 87-90 with McEwans lager! But that was a quality kit - my first Gers top!

I agree with this. I tend to hope Scottish teams do well in europe for the fact they are Scottish anyway. I just wouldnt want to see Celtic win a trophy or Aberdeen for that matter either. Id much rather see Motherwell beating a welsh side but its embarrassing if they dont. With Celtic its a win win situation. If they win its good for the SPL and our ranking points but if they lose then its great to see them get beat.

Tonel and Hutton would be terrific signings. We'd probably have out best defence in a long time if we got those 2. Kevin Kyle has to be the biggest joke ever! Id rather give Dailly a 5 year extension than sign Kyle! Harewood has went downhill. He was a key part of the West Ham team that got back up to the Premiership in 2005 by playing upfront with Sheringham. He scored plenty and was a workhorse. He would be a Darcheville type player now. Not really seen much of the others.
