If you are running a 400m race and it stops at the last bend has the leader won. Usain Bolt was always a slow starter. It cant ever be described as a title win. End of.

Castore Announced As Rangers Official Kit and Retail Partner
Gribz replied to blueflag's topic in Rangers Chat
Again agree. Could be a kit version of Setanta. Are they not both Scoucers? Any of them go to school with Gerrard? What was the link between them and Rangers? Its a gamble at a stage where we shouldnt be taking gambles. We should have went for the tried and trusted (Adidas). -
After post the other day I looked at Hamburgs and Schalkes stadiums. When there was the discussion about Ibrox being revamped then these two are the ones we should "copy". Especially Schalke. 62000 but deep close stands. Obviously we are a million miles away from that now and we cant do anything to a listed building in the main stand but the other 3 could be similar. One thing I like about Schalke stadium is the front row is a good 10 feet about pitch level. Ive never thought being pitch level gives you a good view (hence Walter Smith probably didnt either the amout of time he sat in the stand). I sat in the East enclosure front row once (McLeish last game) and could barely see what was going on. An Elevated position is far better. - Sorry just went off topice a touch.

Considering lockdown perhaps we might even accept Navaratilova doing a wee cat walk ? -

Got to agree with you on this, something doesnt sit right. to drive this club forward and help bring trophies back to Ibrox How exactly will they do that? Was hoping we would revert to Adidas. For me football kits were best in the 90s and Adidas started it all off. Now kits quality and shapes have dropped massively in standard yet prices have went up and they are every year rather than 2-3 seasons. Yet they are probably produced for half the cost from a load of poor people in 3rd world countries. However I will reserve final judgement until I see the new strip and quality. -
Yeah it was very flat and sounded like a 5 a side game when you hear the shots etc. But still way better then no games at all. They could go down the vintage and legendary Mega Drive Sensible Soccer route and have fan noise in the background. Dortmund are a good side and I hope Union Berlin get something today from bayern so the title race makes it interesting.

I dont think the conversation would be so closely discussed had we not had a bad winter break. Its been a collapse on the pitch this season which has seen sloppy seconds again. Not showing up against Hearts (A 2-1), St Johnstone (A 2-2), Kilmarnock (A 2-1), Aberdeen (H 0-0) and Hamilton (H 0-1) is where its gone wrong. That would have been 13 more points on the board, then add our game in hand we could have been 3 ahead. Granted we may not have won every game but even say 8 points in those games and our 3 in hand would be a gap of 2 with two more OF games to play. So IMO its been a footballing reason for letting it go this season rather than behind the scenes. I have been impressed with our boards stances and responses in the last 12 months and long may that continue while there is yes men running the league. But football goes in cycles. It took the Souness era to win a title for the first time in 9 years back in 1987. Then when we were scooping all in the 90s Celtic almost had their doors closed. The 2000s were pretty even now Celtic have had their decade for obvious reasons. So Id say we are on the right path, it was always going to take 3-5 years due to climbing the ladder again. With a few tweaks there is no reason we wont win the next league when the season starts. As horrid as them getting 10 would be I think the bigger aim is to remain on top for most titles won.

I had a look at the league table for half of my scores.

SPFL Season declaration challenged legally (ongoing discussion)
Gribz replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Finding out the percentage is another thing. Like I asked - how is the voting process done and will it be made public who voted what way? They could easily sweep it under the carpet if its not transparent. The SPFL shot themselves in the foot with Aberdeen - seems they have morals at Pittodrie. If I was told my vote (previously) was irrelevant Id be skeptical of the SPFL straight away. Inverness is a breath of fresh air and likes of Falkirk, Raith, Cove etc should all be voting for it. For reconstruction to not even make Hampden for consideration will piss off a good few clubs also. -

How does todays vote work? Is it a case of each club submitting their vote to the SPFL again? If so that needs an independent third party to view the votes. Its crazy to send in the vote to one of the parties that is involved in the subject matter. There has to be transparency in this one. -
Quality listen last night lads, really enjoyed that. Hit every nail on the head with the SPFL discussion to a Tee. RE the final topic on Gerrard - Not to much to disagree but I think Gerrard is still learning and the club is moving in the right direction. The Dubai break went wrong and derailed things on the park domestically, as to the reasons behind that then thats what SG has to resolve.

Fully agree and not just with regards to football - there is an official narrative to stick to. Punditry personnel gives a huge clue as to where they want the football agenda to go. -

It was a refreshing article for once. However given this line - I hope the club rejects away tickets for the foreseeable future. I know it was suggested when we were climbing through the leagues but now its time to take a stand. Very early days and Im getting ahead of myself - but we should be secretly begging the English leagues for us to take Bury's spot and start in League 2. Within one year we could be playing Sunderland, Ipswich, Coventry etc - imagine the figures for those games and the income it would give back to the rest of the League clubs when they need it most! Never a better time! -
I used to look out for Hamburg scores also due to the Albertz connection. Both Schalke and Hamburg stadiums are pretty awesome also. German efficiency - they do things right. Even though I prefer Dortmund, I have respect for Bayern. A top elite European club and a fantastic set up.

One of the best things about living overseas for 15 years has been avoiding Scottish punditry. For some reason a internet program The Football Show popped up on my recommended list on youtube with a bloke Peter Martin who Ive never heard of. I had a listen to that this morning and it may aswell be an unofficial CFC channel. He contradicted himself 3 times and on each occasion it was seconds after a supposed balance comment. That Tam Cowan was on it - Id forgotten about him! He was looking rough and of course came out with nonsense. It was utter scripted junk and there is no way they could have dissolved Rangers Dossier in that time. -

Balanced journalism as usual, I cant believe this plonker is still on the go. As soon as ridicule or words like "tosh" come in from a supposed neutral party you know its denial. Although at least he admits he needed half a day to go through it while other parties managed it within 2 hours. -
Always liked the Bundesliga since it was screened around 2006-07 season overseas. I dont have a German team as such but I do like Dortmund. If I could pick a stadium to visit in Europe it would be Dortmund to see that Yellow wall. Ive a soft spot for Schalke. And of course these two are the kick off fixture. It will be good to see a game back on the TV at last and very interesting to see how it pans out behind closed doors. Im sure all of Europe will be looking on to see how it works out and base their own domestic leagues on how this goes.

Its staggering how many 3rd party experts there seems to be in reaction to this (i.e the media). Cammy is spot on asking how they all managed to obtain a copy so soon (although not rocket science), but never mind respond to 200 pages. There is a lack of response from 40 clubs so far - hence they will all still be reading and reviewing it over and over between their Boards and legal teams - and quite rightly so - yet the geniuses within the SPFL and media swallowed the document instantly. I did wonder at the start if some of our evidence we have may have been received verbally, so not been able to convert to hard evidence. The media like kids are jumping on the word "Bullying". But bullying doesn't have to be physical, it can be used in various terms. Perhaps manipulation / a form of blackmail is the choice of wording we could have used with hindsight. The idiots in the press were expecting "Hollywood" style headlines rather than what we presented. I actually think the document is way too clever for the majority of people to grasp especially RE the 10m Liability - Ive not read a word about this point from skimming through their responses this morning (unfortunately having to go on various media sites to review). It would be nice to get a balanced view from a neutral media outlet perhaps from England on everything. Ive never hoped the club act so strongly as they do now with this going forward. -
Scotty / Compo - still think you have a few XI's to catch up on. Will look into a South Amercian squad, wondering if Brazil have enough players to do their own though.
-
Absolutely Brillant. Missed this on the box last night. been watching it most days. Its filmed in Grays balcony most days. Great watch.
-
Thread has drifted. World XI - holy batman Buffon Adams Gough Maldini Messi Maradona Rivaldo Vieira Ronaldo Ronaldo Henry Thats the real Ronaldo upfront.
-
I think we did something similar on this thread, 1 player from each club. Granted not multiple clubs - that would be very tough to do. WOuld probably need to provide a squad list.
