    Beasley

Did we sell him in the transfer window or is he still injured?
  2. This guy hasnt a clue, he goes on about WS needing more players. IMO the only position we needed cover for was centre half, and once we have everyone fit we will have decent cover all over the pitch. I didnt think id ever hear myself say this but i am looking forward to Broadfoot being fit again. Its not so much our squad size, its the way we set out our stall. Lee McCulloch still gets a game for some bizarre reason when kevin Thomson should be the sole player sitting in the defensive role in midfield which would allow mendes and Davis to do the creating. Once Lafferty is back he will offer us something different upfront. The last 5 games have been terrible but we are notorious for having a poor early season run - i remember the Laudrup video and when he signed we lost to AEK Athens (Europe), Falkirk (League cup) and Celtic (league) in the space of a week and his words were peopl coming up to come and saying it will get better, its just a spell. TBH I see a weaker Celtic team this season than last. Therefore Im very confident about a home victory on Sunday. But WS MUST MUST MUST start playing a more attacking line up and play to OUR strengths.
  3. Crazy time to be going all the way out there. I was going to go up for the match but prices were ridiculous for a 3 day trip. Miller is overdue a rest as he has been playing 2 games per week for the last 5 weeks.
  4. I agree, these things are becoming blatent and obvious recently in all leagues. The Man U v Man C added time was a joke then later in the day Robbie Keane wasnt given a blatent penalty. A few weeks ago Arshavin was hacked in the box by Fletcher and the ref said play on but 2 mins later Van Persie did the same thing on Giggs and was booked.
  5. Terrible decision overall. But the good thing is Gary McAllister is favourite to take over from Pressley.
  6. Ive no idea where that 7 mins came from, but how good was Giggs' pass for the winner - and he was awesome all game. Bellamys goals were superb despite him being a rat. His pace is unreal. The most annoying thing was owen getting the winner - he fluffed his shot and was so lucky yet now everyone is saying thats what he can do and he has answered his critics. Also, refs are buggering up everywhere, Robbie Keane had a stonewall pen turned down at Chelsea
  7. Id say Motherwell and Killie away are tricky games early on in the season especially when we have CL games and a few players had internationals also. Yet the Motherwell and Killie players are still pretty fresh. I do agree we should be coming out the blocks a bit faster and playing a higher tempo - which we can do! But if we get 2 wins against Aberdeen and Celtic then these draws will be forgotten about
  8. Its a nice dream, and throw Hutton in at RB as well and Whittaker at LB (where i think he is better). Hutton______Bougherra_____Cuellar_____Whittaker = some defence!!
  9. Went into my first bookies in over a year yesterday and backed: Liverpool Seville Olympiakos Kiev 20 quid returned 95
  10. Agreed, if he was going to be removed it would have been done by now. The plums at the SFA need 6 or 7 meetings to discuss it. You just know the excuse is going to be along the lines of "we want to see come continunity (sp) and removing someone doesnt achieve that"....well if thats the case get the right man and give him a chance.

  12. TBH I can see the Premier League breaking up in the next 5 years and this will see the forming of a Euro super league. Money with the top clubs is going to keep on going up and their debts will increase also which means the will be looking for more revenue and playing in a Euro super league will give that. Premier League clubs already have the problem of having to pay higher wages than on the continent due to the 50p in the pound tax compared to about 20p in Spain. The real power and ability to control this is at the bottom of the triangle with the fans. If people stopped going to football matches for a period then clubs would collapse. I just wish those multi million pound primadonas would realise that sometimes!

I just realised this game is Wed and not tonight which is a boost as Im flying tonight. Its a tricky game so Im going for a 0-0 draw.
  14. Thats a joke if true. He has actually done worse than Vogts, at least Berti got us to the play offs. I cant really think of 1 good thing about Burley as manager. He lost the dressing room, he hands out caps to anyone, plays players out of position (we've seen that before though), has muppets as his background team and most importantly cant get results! Terrible terrible decision if he stays on.
  15. Absolute bollocks, I cant see Keane going to the SPL as there would be a lot of EPL clubs after him first. TBH id be gutted if they did get him, he is a cracking player.
  16. Anyone who boo's their own players and blames players from certain clubs isnt fit to call themselves a fan or in the Tartan Army. They are bitter sad people who are living in a timewarp - let them be like that and have pity on them rather than hatred. The 'real' tartan army are those who support the team and all the players. So I disagree with those who sing stick the TA up your ass. They are as bad as the others who boo the players and obviously have an agenda also and cant concentrate fully on football matters.
  17. Man U were superb and brought Spurs back to earth. Giggs free kick was brilliant. Arsenal cost my coupon, i thought they would go to Man City and give them a lesson like Man U did to Spurs. How fuckin lucky are Chelsea! 93rd min winner against Hull and now a 94th min against Stoke! They are becoming the Man U of the 90s. Some good games next week also Man U v Man C and Chelsea v Spurs. Arsenal need to beat Wigan at home plus win there game in hand against Bolton or they are out the race already despite being the most impressive side so far (bar yesterday). The destroyed Everton and portsmouth and played Man U off the park yet they find themselves struggling. if they can just get injury free then it would help - Arshavin, Narsi and Walcott all out now.
  18. Wanker! I hope he gets a ban for kicking Van Persie. At first I didnt think it was intentional but after seeing it a few times you can see his leg kicks out. Arsenal have the worst keeper in the league. If they had a strong keeper they wouldnt lose games like this or the one at old trafford 2 weeks ago.

Yeah Ive a feeling Rothen will make a good start and we have a good record of players scoring in their debuts.
  20. I was going to say the only thing I could think of was he is new to the league and Walter has so much experience so they gave it for that, but he was Hibs manager so knows what the leagues all about. Never mind, his honeymoon period comes to an end in a few weeks time when he gets gubbed in the first OF game.
  21. I totally cant see WS returning to Scotland manager, even after he ends this spell as Gers boss. The article has some decent points but you can tell its from SA with the pro Boyd comments about him being the star player I think we should put Chris Iwelumos howler to bed. Lots of players have missed sitters over the years, so we shouldnt dwell on these things and instead we should just look forward. Dont get me wrong I agree that Boyd should have been brought on ahead of 2 uncapped players in this game. To try out uncapped players in an important game (Norway at home was probably the most important game to get 3 points) was crazy as these players should be tried in friendlies. But I think Burley is going to get backed by the SFA else he would probably have been sacked by now. This is a major boob by the SFA. I cant see how Burley and Butcher can turn things around for the next campaign and that means yet another tournament we have to miss out on. Why cant the SFA just be simple and go get the right available man for the job - in this case it has to be Strachan. He is out of work and will be fresh and ready to take over.
  22. It would sound better if you replaced Boyd with Lafferty And with Mendes, Rothen and Novo not getting a mention, nor the promising Fleck, then our attacking options look great.
  23. Strachan did say he wanted to manage Scotland at some part of his career. But after 4 years at Celtic and witnessing how bad the media pressure is he might prefer a move back down south - who could blame him! but he is a stronger character than that and will talk to Walter Smith who did wonders in the job. However I have a sneaky feeling Burley will be backed aswell and he will stay on....but I hope im totally wrong.

    Predictions

    Motherwell 0-2 Rangers (Rothen, Mendes)
  25. The midfield one is going to be interesting. I cant see McCulloch being dropped as WS seems to favour him. I havent seen his performances but with 2 goals in 3 games does he not start tomorrow on merit??
