Good luck to Dundee Utd. Cant see them going through over 2 games but Tannadice might have a good atmosphere which would be an 12th man for Utd. However AEK are a good side. Hope Motherwell go through also. Would chuckle to see Utrecht win....is their any cups left for Celtic to drop into after this one? Johnstones Paint trophy maybe??? Only consolations of celtic going through would be a seedings boost for the SPL and if they had no European campaign they would be able to fully concentrate on the league...so either way for me. Villa, Liverpool and Man City should all go through.

http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/spl/rangers/2010/08/13/rangers-set-to-tie-up-new-deals-for-mcgregor-miller-and-papac-86908-22484396/ All 3 signing up would be good IMO.

I read he is a right winger....left midfield problem is sorted then!
-
Didnt McGregor just sign a new contact??
-
Or he signs and is croked in his first 5 mins of training during a 50/50 with Weiss putting them both out for the season.......oh no Rozental and Prodan still have ghosts on the training pitch!
-
Miller and Jelavic for me also although Id be happy to see a front 3 with Lafferty added also. Will be very interesting to see the formation. Although isnt Ally a fan of 4-4-2 (we seemed to always play that in cups games he was in charge off). It could be he has a strong influence on the formation as he inherits this squad next summer.

Harsh overall post. quite frankly as long as we win the league I dont care. Singling out Weiss like that isnt fair either. Man City have got something like 40 players battling to get in the squad and arguably their best last season Bellamy cant get in either.

Would certainly complete the defence. Throw in a solid centre midfielder and that 10/11 odds for title No.54 is very tasty!
-
They are dreaming. David James Sol Campbell Jimmy Bullard Craig Bellamy Robbie Keane - manager Martin O neill. But all they got was Charlie Mulgrew and a host of players Ive never heard of. :fish:

Assuming Jelavic and Weiss sign on the dotted line: Jelavic - WS been chasing him since the World Cup ended. Looks a find and will probably be a starter. Weiss - Impressive at the WC. Provides much needed creativity and width. Beattie - Poacher but has to win a lot of fans over that he isnt past it. Webster - returning from a successful loan spell where he was one of the best defenders in the SPL for Dundee Utd. v Novo - Was Rangers through and through but never guarenteed a start. Big match player. He's the one Im most gutted about losing but if Weiss and Jelavic perform he wont be overly missed! Boyd - split the fans down the middle. Slow? Lazy? poor ball control? Overweight? Never did it against bigger teams / rarely picked against bigger teams? But a insanely good scoring record! Thomson - Hot and cold, was decent when he took the games by scrub of the next but didnt do it near often enough. Smith - Injury practically ended his career a few years back. Was nothing more of a squad player. Beasley - spent more time on the treatment table than in the team. Wilson - One season wonder yet didnt play in most games. Was mentored by Weir IMO and may struggle at Liverpool. Overall our squad is down in numbers by 3 but we have 3 players who will look to get into the first team on a weekly basis while 3 or 4 of those who left werent guarenteed a game on a weekly basis. Sometimes less is more.

Havent read the article but surely part of the 4 million relates to add ons?? But FINALLY WS has got his man. Adding Weiss to this then we are looking a lot better. 2 really good signings IMO.

Yes amen to that along with Whittaker as a wide midfielder. It has ruined Naismith and Lafferty careers so far at Ibrox. Id still keep Lafferty, its going to be a long season and Miller wont play 45 games in 4 competitions. Lafferty could be the good option upfront on his own if we go 4-5-1 in CL. But Weiss and jelavic give us a lot more options. But I still think we are light in the centre of midfield. We could possibly be done with a full back but we do have options of swapping players about with Broadfoot, Whittaker and Bougherra being able to play RB and Papac and Whittaker at LB.
-
I hope its us also. Celtic have signed a few defenders so not sure if it would be them. Yobo and Bougherra together would be very very solid.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1304277/Rangers-join-Celtic-race-sign-Manchester-City-winger-Vladimir-Weiss.html None who played to be offered a deal! Welcome seemed to have a good game but I dont think we are short of strikers but Barazite is a shock, I thought he could have been a good addition for a season.
-
I thought Barazite might have been offered a deal.
-
Agreed, city have went backwards a little bit. Eriksson and Hughes were taking it slowly and building a team aswell as a squad, now they have just went mental and have a mass squad of new individuals. Stephen Ireland was their best player during 08/09 and id say bellamy was their best player last season. Bellamys 2 goals in the 4-3 game with Man U last season spoke for themselves, 1 absolute screamer and 1 terrific solo which made Ferdinand look like a statue. Villa have got a good deal out of this. Pressure is on Mancini to gel them!
-
And out of them Ive only heard of Mulgrew and Ledley. SSN showing Lennon wants Shay Given on loan! Arsenal should nip in there and get him, he is worth 8 pts a season.
-
He could always make up for it by creating and assisting 10 goals or so
-
I disagree, i think Rapid are purely holding off for their Villa game. If they go out then they will want to sell and might even drop the fee by 500k or they risk not getting anything for him. We have persevered this long so I think will wait until its either impossible to sign him or we get the go ahead.
-
I think its safe to say this wont be concluded until after the Rapid v Villa game.
-
Like everyone else Barazite sounds very appealing, rarely does a Arsenal youngster not have potential. Welcome seems like a Darcheville kind of player. Add Jelavic in and we are looking much stronger.
-
Id still rather be going into September with more players than not although Im not sure we need Welcome when we already have Miller, Lafferty, Beattie, Naismith, Velicka, Fleck and possibly Jelavic. Wingers are priority followed by another central player. I really dont want to see Naismith, Lafferty or Whittaker be the planned wingers for the season so lets hope this guy follows in Bougherras footsteps. The arsenal kid could be good a for a year also.

That would be a magic place to go. The size of that standing section is massive. Quality stadium in general, certainly one of the most impossing places. The depth of the single tier stand is unreal. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Suedtribuene.jpg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:S%C3%BCdtrib%C3%BCne.jpg

Its each to theor own but I cant work out why there would be "so many" quiet voices at games. Ok some go to just watch and arent singers in general which is fine but its seems to be a majority at some home games. It just seems people can only get excited depending on the opponent and competiton as the CL games are a different place. The Copland and the enclosures used to easily have the most singing when I was going to regular games. What we need is a few more sections spread out over the ground so singing isnt just coming from one area like TBO at the moment. Bring back terracing in the enclosures!!! I mainly prefer to stand watching games whether it be at the ground or in a pub. Ive even seen myself standing at home watching matches if Ive got a carryout But then you cant have it for all, a 79 year old geezer needs a seat and doesnt want loud ones jumping infront of him, same for a young kid with their dad.
