I fancy us to go up and win, its overdue. In fact we havent won at Pittodrie since I was last there...Im the jinx! Aberdeen 0-2 Rangers Miller and Jelavic :spl:
-
Never seen the lad play. Is he more of a holding midfielder? Someone who puts tackles in? Creative?
-
The english media were doing their usual drewlling over Berbatov's overhead kick on Sunday against Liverpool, which was almost in slow motion. Jelavic's was much better. That was absolutely different class! Easily a contender for goal of the season.

Yip great news. I however was one who was happy he was signing. His energy and pace and work rate was always going to be good for team. Even if he has a bad game you can never say he hasnt gave 100%. Barring an injury Miller will pass 20 goals this season.

Depends what Competition you want us to do better in - Europe or SPL. I tend to think its better to have the domestic home game BEFORE the champions league matches so we are better prepared for them, if that leaves us away matches in the SPL after CL so be it, we are capable of winning those matches. What we expect from SPL is help to prepare on the Euro circuit as we are the sole Rep's and that would mean having home games played on saturdays. I havent looked at our fixture list before our next CL games but looking at the 5 aways it may be possible we have 5 homes. EDIT: Aberdeen (a) on a sunday followed by Bursaspor (h) - the Aberdeen game should be played on Saturday. Motherwell (h) on a Sat followed by Valencia (h) Inverness (h) on a Sat followed by Valencia (a) - This is perfect, if it was only Celtic away in between Valencia we'd be complaining. Kilmarnock (a) on Sat 12pm followed by Man Utd (h) - Early Sat k/o helps. Hearts (h) on Sat followed by Bursaspor (a)

Just wondering if any of the 6 players who left in the summer are regreting the decision after watching us in champions league action during the week. They might be realising the grass isnt greener on the other side. Obviously there was those who chose to leave and those who were released. Danny Wilson - Hasnt kicked a ball for Liverpool. Didnt even make the bench for their weakened team last night. IMO he should have went somewhere where he woudl be getting regular football. He is only 18 so needs to be playing or he will fizzle down the leagues. He wasnt even a 1 season wonder, he probably had 15 good games playing next to a master at the back. DeMarcus Beasley - Dont know where he is. Steven Smith - Who is he playing for? Nacho Novo - I dont think anyone will grudge Nacho anything, he wanted a 2 year deal. Id say 100% of fans want him to have a good season in Spain. Kevin Thomson - Boro have been awful so far and he is crocked for a while. Kris Boyd - 1 goal so far and 5 poor performances has the pressure on him.
-
Im expecting a good performance from Jelavic tomorrow and for him to get on the score sheet.
-
Thats what Ive been thinking since he signed, he hasnt impressed me until the preseason games in Australia where he looked a different player. He has started this season a bit better but we are only 5 games into it so he still has it to prove for me.

Yip agreed, i thought Edu had a nightmare in patches especially in the first half. His simple passing was non existant. McCulloch did a 2 man job IMO.

This weakened team stuff is turning out to be a load of nonsense. There is rules in place that a club names a 25 man squad before a deadline. After that the manager can pick any 11 to start any match. Are people saying the other 14 arent good enough? Of course there will be a core of 4 or 5 who are the better players but they cant play consistantly in 4 competitions or it will pan out like Aston Villa have in the last 2 seasons where Martin O Neill played the same team from Aug to March and they ran out of steam. You have to prepare to last until the final ball is kicked in May.

I was going to post something on Webster this week. How on earth can he play for everyone but Rangers. He comes to us and doesnt play...he goes on loan and plays. Comes back and doesnt play...goes on loan to Dundee Utd and is their best player...comes back and doesnt play. He surely has to go into the top 5 of injury jinx's we've had. He's making Prodan look a legend!

Real people in the game such as Sir Alex Ferguson and Rio Ferdinand have opinions which count. SAF said "we have to give credit to Rangers" and Rio said "most english teams to go Old Trafford and play one upfront". Our Asian media has all changed this year - English nobodies who didnt even play at a top level. I couldnt listen to them at full time, they were bad enough at half time...total twats @ media
-
Broadfoot does deserve additional credit for not fainting when looking at Valencia's ankle.....and then he continued to play well. I was almost passing out looking on the telly.

Jose Mourinho parked the bus at Nou Camp last season with a defensive display and got called a tactical genius. Funny how the game suits certain people. fair play to Rio for coming out with that, its true though. Liverpool will go there on Sunday with Torres upfront alone. But they wont play 5 at the back )

:lm: For me. Threw himself infront of everything, won lots of balls, passing was quite good. I felt Edu struggled at times but LM did enough for 2 people.

"You only score in a brothel" to Rooney had me chuckling. At the end "Who the F*** are Man Utd, when the Gers go marching on on on..." was great.

Id say we are being underestimated, as I said Wigan, West Brom, Blackpool, Sunderland, Blackburn are just 5 teams who dont have as good as a starting XI as we do. Id also say Arsenal, Man Utd and Chelsea would fancy taking 3 points off Wolves away more so than getting a win at Ibrox. I looked at Middlesboro' last line up and they have players who are not Premier League class and players who I wouldnt have in our starting XI. It could also be said that Strachan has lost the plot and if Southgate for EG had the same team Boro might be top of the that league!!
-
Thats what I think. Id rather we go down and press and get in about them rather than be cagey and let them have possession. Id rather get beat 5-0 with having a go than 5-0 by not even trying. Bougherra played a stormer against England at the WC so we might still get a performance out of him yet.

I dont think we would struggle as much as some think. We regularly play Premier League teams in pre season friendlies and come out on top albeit a friendly. But the likes of Blackburn, Sunderland and Fulham wouldnt scare me at all right now, so the teams worse than them like Stoke, West Ham, West Brom and Wigan would pose even less of a threat IMO. We might get stream rolled by the likes of Arsenal and Man U (tomorrow will give a good indication), and we would probably lose the odd game at Anfield, Goodison and White Hart Lane. The Championship might even be a more difficult league than the Premier League in some cases. the football is uglier and its a tough division to get out of it. So often in recent seasons we have seen teams come up from that league and hold their own in the top flight. I dont think Middlesboro have signed the best of the OF at all, if anything the players mentioned were actually poorer players from the OF IMO.

So whats the rules here?....is that a goal???

Yip. Before Levein was appointed I was saying this. Why dont we look south of the border? I dont think an english manager would be bad for Scotland in the same way a Scottish or British manager wouldnt be bad for england. I bet any England fan would have had Alex Ferguson or Martin O Neill after the world cup. Its not about the nationality its about knowing the players and leagues etc. Berti Vogts wasnt a bad coach, he won Euro 96 which proves he cant be bad, he just wasnt right for our country. Id have had no problem if we approached Terry Venebles, Glenn Hoddle or Kevin Keegan to name a few. As for Scots, id have been going for a set up of 2 from Joe Jordan, Dalglish, George Graham, Gary McAllister, Souness, Strachan way ahead of Levein.
