I felt thats a bit unfair on Novo, he would have signed for a slight increase plus a longer deal yet would still have been a low earner. Not sure on Thomson, I get the feeling he wasnt looking for a move, can anyone shed light on that?? Thats concerning considering we cant offer deals to anyone and only have a small budget for new players. Thats depressing!

Loans depend on if they player is looking for a contract after the spell then you see them give their all. Holman might be a decent addition short term but a permanent signing would be more appealing.

I suppose looking at the other names like Ajax, Kiev and Zenit we were hoping for one of them and showed Braga looked weaker on paper

I kinda hope they do quite well also. Despite Strachan managing Celtic I actually quite like him. But 1 or 2 of his signings like Flood and Miller arent top Scottish players IMO.

Debut against Spurs! Should be interesting! Wenger doesnt half know when to sell a player though does he! Henry started ok at barca but has been average since! Henry could still do a job in any top league in Europe so its a surprising move but he must fancy the nice pension. Plus he wouldnt want to play for any other club in England other than Arsenal. Certainly in the top 10 of all time Premiership players but its probably the end we will see of one of Europes best. Terrific player and good luck to him in the US.

Was away to post this. If the avoid Braga and Fenerbache then they have a tough match. Hopefully they get Kiev, Zenit or Ajax.

Not for me. McGregors form pre UEFA cup final was outstanding and he got back to near his best last season, that save in the OF game at parkhead was incredible. Id rather off load Alexander for maybe 1.5 million and get another back up keeper than sell mcgregor.

Im going to check if they are playing any games so I can go along and watch him to see how good / poor he is.

Mcgregor moving wouldnt surprise me as we would get a decent fee plus its been speculation all summer. However Id be very surprised to see Miller leave. I hope they both stay though, both are key players.

RE the Thomson sale, its a surprising one that I didnt think would happen. I know quite a few on here rated him and like him but he didnt over impress me but I still thought he would improve. Its just concerning how low our numbers are, if Edu, Davis or McCulloch pick up a knock or are suspended then we have nobody! Im hoping Bougherra doesnt move on and I could see a place for him in the midfield if need be. Weir, Webster and possibly Wilson are fine at the back so Bougherra in midfield is an option, he is capable of driving runs.

This is the sort of move which actually wouldnt surprise me, the only thing that doesnt add up would be the wages. Perhaps Bullard didnt fancy Celtic at all but saw the class of Ibrox and Murray Park and it took to his liking. Bullard can be a decent player, he has had a couple of terrible injuries rather then being injury prone - similar to Thomson. He gets about the park and can score some crackers.

Why didnt we keep Novo??!!! Small increase in wages yet would still have been lower than what we offered Boyd and Eagles yet a good all round player who would always give 110%. Baffling!

Considering the amount of quality coaches, managers, assistants and Ex pro's we have this is a pure lack of ambition.

I thought Fleck look very promising but then got a ridiculous amount of hype placed on him then his next game was at parkhead and WS played him on the wing where he was lost. It could have set the guy back a season! He is 18 or 19 now so age is no issue, this season is big for Fleck to make an impact but he needs to play in his strongest position.

I saw the headline and assumed Eric Black and thought that would have been a good scoop but the national team relies on someone who got airdrie relegated!! Im concerned about the upcoming Euro qualifiers before a ball has been kicked.

But isnt the amount the important thing? For EG, I wonder how much Eagles has been offered, its certainly going to be a lot more than Novo was offered yet Id have rather kept Nacho as at least we know what we had in the wee man.

Agree with this, id have Edu in the the team next to Davis ahead of Thomson. The most corcerning thing for me is that our squad number is dropping lower and lower with no better or even equivalent replacement coming in. It would seem WS's plans are to have Davis, Edu, McCulloch and Fleck as his central options - thats not bad but low in numbers. Eagles wouldnt be a bad shout and to be honest we are desperate for width.
