  1. I wouldnt entertain anything less than 11 or 12 million. I dont give a monkeys if clubs in England or Spain think they can get him on the cheap because he is playing in Scotland, a keeper's value should be seperate. Id put McGregor up there in the top 5 keepers in Britain and the likes of Petr Cech would go for 18 million upwards. The guy could walk into Man Utd or Arsenal (not tricky, Im probably better than Almunia) and be their No.1
  2. I was close to putting a similar defence to Frankie i.e. Foster RB, Broadfoot and Bougherra in the middle with Papac LB. Both Bougherra and Weir could be done with a rest, Bougherra due to looking jaded and Weir because we are going to need him to last the season. Webster really needs to shake a leg and make himself available. Weir has missed less games than Webster has played for Gers in the last 3 years which is almost disgusting. But id like to see the trio I put in the middle. I think Davis plays better in a inside right role, and with McCulloch sitting infront of the back 4 young Hutton could get about the park. Cant see why Beattie isnt fit, he hasnt done anything to get an injury. Cant wait for big Jelavic to get back but in the meantime Lafferty is still an good option plus Fleck could be done with getting some match time.
  3. Agreed a few changes in the team would be refreshing. Would prefer to do that at Ibrox all the same as tight wee grounds like St Mirren are always tricky. Id like to see something like 4-3-3 / 4-5-1 with this liine up and with Fleck (if fit) getting some game time also. Or perhaps possibly resting Papac who is a key player and playing Foster. Miller has been superb this season with a cracking goal ratio but could be done with the first hour on the bench: :kb::mb::sp: :sd::lm::kh: :sn::kl::vw:
  4. Agree with you except the bold bit...Dens Park is a dump. If the SPL got their finger out and just increased the number in each league and reduced the amount of divisions then good sized clubs like Dunfermline, Dundee, Falkirk and Partick would be in better positions, in fact all clubs could be in a better position. There is no need for 4 divisions.
  5. It rotates, in the 90s Serie A was by far the best standard then La Liga came strong. In the last 5 years the English Premier has been strong with 3 or 4 clubs regularly getting to at least the semi's and the so called big 4 all being in the final for 5 years running (Liverpool 05, Arsenal 06, liverpool 07, Man Utd / Chelsea 08, Man Utd 09) but now it seems to be a bit more even with the Spanish and Italians getting stronger again. Personally Id rather watch the Bundesliga ahead of la Liga unless its Barca v Real. I find the German league entertaining and some good football on show. Chelsea are the strongest at the moment in EPL and agree with the opening post Man Utd are on a bit of a decline (although it could be a rebuild), had they got a player like Van Der Vaart, Kaka, Sneijder, Ozil then they would be a different team. Arsenal for me are a keeper, top defender and a bit of good luck with injuries away from easily being the best side in England.
  6. I think he'd be a decent addition, especially on a free.
  7. I was wrong to say 2-0 Valencia last time so I'll not do the same again. 0-0 for me.
  8. 25 points is a but much they have no chance of staying up now. Why 25 anyway? Dundee are 1 of the SFL's larger clubs and would be a shame to see them go to the wall, if the structure was set up properly then things like this wouldnt happen.
  9. My folks are visiting this month and I asked my Mum to bring over a medium in the home and away kit but JJB aberdeen out of stock also and nowhere else sells it. The large was like a tent. Its by far the best Scotland kit in a while so thought Id go for it for a change. Let me know how you get on SA.
  10. Davie Weir. Didnt play for a big club until he was 37. Stuart Pearce and Ian Wright are another 2.
  11. I like him and he can get box to box. His best games have been in the CL this season. Id rest him for Caley and keep him for Valencia.
  12. Hateley spot on again. 2 starts in almost 4 years says it all especially when he played over 30 games for Utd and was their best player last season. The only thing Webster has got on his side is he wouldnt be the first to have the Ibrox injury jinx.
  13. He was a bit of a gamble, would have been a better loan signing IMO. Id imagine he is one of the higher earners too.
  14. Depends what way you look at it. Hearts have around the same level of debt as us and Hibs might be in the black. See your point though, in assets, size, potential and turnover terms. We maybe have a T/O more than 10 times the others.
  15. Games are coming thick and fast but I dont see us slowing down in this one. Rangers 3 - Bougherra, Miller, Naismith Caley 0
  16. I was hoping 'Jelavic on target' meant he had scored in a bounce match Agree with metlika, a extra few weeks wont do any harm if it means he comes back 100% rather than pick up a recurrance.
  17. Was surprised to see such a strong line up plus even the likes of Miller coming on in the 2nd half. What is up with Webster, thats ridiculous. As Gav says, I thought Beattie would have been a banker to play, is he going to be another who is never fit? Nice to be in the cup Semi finals but Id rather this trophy was done and dusted in this month so we dont have to wait until Feb by next time we play in it. Aberdeen in the Semi's would be nice then a win against Celtic in the final. Would be the nice start WS' send off.
  18. Of course all refs can make mistakes, but having an outside Ref will be under a bit less pressure IMO and they wont be thinking "if i give this decision does that mean I'll get death threats" like the mhanks so often do after poor decisions. Im not thinking about what Celtic fans want, I couldnt give a toss, I just want Refs to get decisions right and want them to go home happily to their families rather than endure death threats. Saying an outside Ref is no good sounds like we are scared they will come here and give Celtic all the decisions! I cant see why is it only Celtic fans who would want this, I remember listening to a caller after a match between Dundee Utd and Kilmarnock last season saying the same thing that outside refs should come until our own refs stop ruining matches. Are we saying an outside ref is going to give them all decisions? FFS a strong ref would have sent Stokes off. We dont need a ref to win us the game, our football will do the talking but we do need a ref to be strong and fair.
  19. Whats it got to do with letting Celtic run the game? The refs in Scotland are absolute pish, end of and the OF derby needs a strong ref who is going to get the decisions right. Look down south last weekend, Mark Clattenburg sent off a Man City player against Arsenal in the 4th minute without hesitation, a strong ref would have had Celtic down to 10 men in the 2nd minute last Sunday.
  20. Perhaps its down to registerring your squad for the competition before hand therefore Aberdeen registerred him while we included Velicka?
  21. Some decent points from Chick. There isnt a Ref who gets respected in Scotland at the moment but some awful decisions in all games no matter who is playing doesnt help. Not since Dallas have we had a good ref. For OF games we should look at taking in a top ref from elsewhere, that way after the game they go back to their country and wont get bothered by mindless clowns who cant accept they lost a football match.
  22. 2-1 for me. With a few changes expected at the back we may concede but still fancy us to come through. A Beattie double for me. Hopefully we wrap things up in 90 mins as we dont need an extra 30 mins.
  23. Didnt realise Foster was cup tied. I'll still go 2-1 and Beattie can get a double rather than Foster getting one. Its about time we saw what he can do.
  24. Wondered where this thread was on Monday. Frankie, you been on a 2 day partying sesh after the game or something? Im with Ian, Naismith pips it for me.
  25. I'll go 2-1 Rangers for my prediction. Goals from Foster and Beattie.
