I think the bellamy deal will depend on McAvennie Jnr being sold. If that is the case i hope he doesnt go, Bellamy is far far a better player.

So, the Jig is in for a wee while longer..
Gribz replied to Rangers Football Club's topic in Rangers Chat
McCulloch improved last season as the games went on and had a few good games in the midfield. I sense that once a player reaches the 30 mark they appreicate what they have more and dont jump ship like a few other so called players who were supposedly been happy at Ibrox. McCulloch isnt my favourtie player but I think he will be quite important this season as long as he isnt centre half. Id like to see him pay further forward again, his best games for Wigan, Scotland and his first since months at Rangers were easily as an attacking left midfielder. -
An Audi! Surely Lafferty will look down at that :fish: It would be nice to see the odd player giving away a free car to charity or walking into a supporters bar and doing a raffle and then giving it to the winner. You dont hear about these things anymore, money has gone to players heads. Despite being in our worst financial position of recent years some of our players are still taking 60k home a month!!!

Bellamy is a cracking player on his day but he can easily sulk and be sent off. There isnt much between Bellamy and Keane - 2 quality strikers but Keane has the temperment.
-
Beattie makes boyd look like Usain Bolt But that aside, he is a decent striker but I dont think he will start the game.
-
I'll be having a bit of 3-0 aswell. Miller, Davis, Whittaker.
-
Young fraser got his for 15 quid somewhere.
-
I think an improved lafferty (attitude) is capable of 15-20 goals through the middle. Miller will get the same if he stays injury free. If we get Naismith chipping in with 10 plus jelavic (should he sign) gets double figures we are on course. The likes of Davis and Edu are capable of a few plus Whittaker and McCulloch get the odd screamer.
-
He is linked with both us and QPR hence the confusion

Havent seen the guy play but the SPL may suit him. I remember Steven Davis not exciting me too much either as he was moved on from Villa but has turned out to be a terrific player.

Isnt opinions a great thing! Myself along with a few others (probably minority in this forum) wouldnt have had Boyd in their first XI last season yet others had him down as their first name. Lafferty seems to be spliting the support also. I definatly think he has hidden talent and to get it out of him he needs 3 things 1) To remember he isnt bigger than the club and that it would be downhill career wise after Rangers. 2) Played as a striker or an inside left striker of a front three (not a winger) 3) He needs to mature quite a bit (remember he is only 22). If we got these 3 things I think he have a player who can get 20 goals a season. Whilst I want Jelavic to sign Im not a fan of using Lafferty and Naismith for that matter as wingers. Id definatly have them as part of a front 3 though.

Cheers Craig. Easier if everyone just drops there name in here and it can be allocated. Needs names folks...first game coming up shortly.....

As Juffery says we cant sell anyone else. Id put Miller in the must keep bracket at the moment, certainly one of the better performers since he came back.
-
I thought Hemdani was one of our better players of recent seasons, he was a clever player who controlled play well with good passing and vision. Wasnt world class but certainly a good player.
-
I bet Mark Hughes is kicking himself for taking over at Fulham. I wouldnt be surprised to see him be in the running and jump ship. I think Jol would fancy it with Villa being a more attractive club than Fulham. West Ham's odds should shorten at the weekend then
-
Is the Goncalves deal still alive? We have 4 and half days until the season starts and we are waiting on Jelavic's decision. If that doesnt go through then I cant see a new face arriving. Welcome would need a work permit and I dont fancy giving Utd cash plus Webster for Oorwillie.
-
If they get 9.5M for him then that puts Davis and Bougherras value above 12 million IMO. Crikey Broadfoot has got the better of Mcgeady on a few occassions.
-
I see what you are saying and agree its about preparing for the season. But Its confusing why we play a certain way of attacking football even against good teams in pre-season (Man City and emirates cup last year, Sydney Cup and Newcastle this year) then when the season starts we dont carry it over and a different system comes in to play.
-
Expectations = SPL title. Our starting XI is easily the strongest in the league but the squad numbers are low I worry about injuries. 2 signings and possibly a 3rd would give me much more confidence. There is no reason a cup shouldnt be added. In Europe I hope we hold our and dont be getting beat 4-1 by a team I cant pronounce. We seem to play better in europe as the underdog. If we avoid finishing 4th in the group stages and continue being in Europe after Xmas then thats a good run.
-
Nope and Im a big fan of Miller but he is going to pick up the odd injury, Im not sure this shin split problem has cleared up either.
-
Was about to say the same thing, we have done this i a few pre seasons recently then as soon as the season starts the cautiousness comes back into our game. I said a week or 2 ago if we go into the season playing free flow football like the Blackburn game then we could hump SPL teams every week.
-
Thats a good sign, we beat Blackburn comfortably (2-1 doesnt say so but had Miller made it 3-0 it would have been more), Hearts drew with them 1-1 and the ever improving Celtic get beat

It isnt being sarcastic. Ok Jelavic and Gudjohnsen aren't Torres and Van Persie, but considering what our financial situation is, to possibly of had a young fit Prso-esk player with someone like Gudjohnsen couldnt have got much better for me. Shame Gudjohnsen's wage is so high but you cant blame him to be looking at a possible Premier League move.
-
Goodwillie for Webster....no thanks, Id rather keep the latter. Pity we couldnt have done a deal with Monaco over Gudjohnsens wages. But if we tie up Jelavic and Welcome then our numbers looks a bit better. Still ultra low in midfield though.
