  1. I was hoping 'Jelavic on target' meant he had scored in a bounce match Agree with metlika, a extra few weeks wont do any harm if it means he comes back 100% rather than pick up a recurrance.
  2. Was surprised to see such a strong line up plus even the likes of Miller coming on in the 2nd half. What is up with Webster, thats ridiculous. As Gav says, I thought Beattie would have been a banker to play, is he going to be another who is never fit? Nice to be in the cup Semi finals but Id rather this trophy was done and dusted in this month so we dont have to wait until Feb by next time we play in it. Aberdeen in the Semi's would be nice then a win against Celtic in the final. Would be the nice start WS' send off.
  3. Of course all refs can make mistakes, but having an outside Ref will be under a bit less pressure IMO and they wont be thinking "if i give this decision does that mean I'll get death threats" like the mhanks so often do after poor decisions. Im not thinking about what Celtic fans want, I couldnt give a toss, I just want Refs to get decisions right and want them to go home happily to their families rather than endure death threats. Saying an outside Ref is no good sounds like we are scared they will come here and give Celtic all the decisions! I cant see why is it only Celtic fans who would want this, I remember listening to a caller after a match between Dundee Utd and Kilmarnock last season saying the same thing that outside refs should come until our own refs stop ruining matches. Are we saying an outside ref is going to give them all decisions? FFS a strong ref would have sent Stokes off. We dont need a ref to win us the game, our football will do the talking but we do need a ref to be strong and fair.
  4. Whats it got to do with letting Celtic run the game? The refs in Scotland are absolute pish, end of and the OF derby needs a strong ref who is going to get the decisions right. Look down south last weekend, Mark Clattenburg sent off a Man City player against Arsenal in the 4th minute without hesitation, a strong ref would have had Celtic down to 10 men in the 2nd minute last Sunday.
  5. Perhaps its down to registerring your squad for the competition before hand therefore Aberdeen registerred him while we included Velicka?
  6. Some decent points from Chick. There isnt a Ref who gets respected in Scotland at the moment but some awful decisions in all games no matter who is playing doesnt help. Not since Dallas have we had a good ref. For OF games we should look at taking in a top ref from elsewhere, that way after the game they go back to their country and wont get bothered by mindless clowns who cant accept they lost a football match.
  7. 2-1 for me. With a few changes expected at the back we may concede but still fancy us to come through. A Beattie double for me. Hopefully we wrap things up in 90 mins as we dont need an extra 30 mins.
  8. Didnt realise Foster was cup tied. I'll still go 2-1 and Beattie can get a double rather than Foster getting one. Its about time we saw what he can do.
  9. Wondered where this thread was on Monday. Frankie, you been on a 2 day partying sesh after the game or something? Im with Ian, Naismith pips it for me.
  10. I'll go 2-1 Rangers for my prediction. Goals from Foster and Beattie.
  11. Would be fairly happy with that line up, but id probably play McCulloch rather than Edu and maybe start Fleck rather than Wylde.
  12. That game was brilliant, arguably better than the 3-2 Cup final the year before. Klos, Ricksen, Moore, Amoruso, Bonnissel, Caniggia, Ferguson, Arteta, Lovenkrands, De Boer, Mols. Seeing that line up, it is a pretty much awesome looking team. Around that time I thought we were on the down after selling off Albertz, Gio, Reyna, Tugay a few seasons before that, but looking at it now it looks so attacking. Maybe says McLeish didnt get some credit he deserved on occassion, although its hard to believe that team scored 102 goals one season then were rank the next. If Prso had signed a bit earlier and been added to that then it would be been cracking. The only thing I suppose was Caniggia, De Boer and Mols were coming to the end of careers (Mols due to injury) and Arteta hadnt fully blossomed yet. Lovenkrands was always superb at nipping in and scoring like that. A player i wished we kept for a few more years.
  13. Where you not going to do the preview for this yesterday? Would be good to see a change of line up including Alexander, Webster, Broadfoot, Hutton, Fleck, Beattie.
  14. Well said.
  15. They should just go ahead with the redevelopment of the main stand. Tynecastle is capable of a good atmosphere due to the stands being right on top of you.
  16. Think your missing the point. Where did I say Boyd didnt score? Im saying whoever said 'No Boyd = No goals" is a myth because as far as I can see No Boyd = Rangers still scoring Goals.
  17. I'll be picky, I can already say half of it....The 'no goals' is a myth as we are getting plenty
  18. The thread title is spot on though and this team is impressing me more and more. Its not just winning its the way we are playing. Its easily the best football we've played in years. We have almost a perfect balance and for once it seems we arent playing players out of position. The likes of McCulloch is looking like he played centre midfield all his days along with Papac looking like he has always been a LB. I really wanted Novo to stay in the summer and had him down as one of the first on the team sheet last season but cant see where he would fit in at the moment. Considering our financial situation our striking options are fantastic when Jelavic is back and that includes the attacking wider players like Naismith and Weiss. I still slightly worry about Bougherra or Weir picking up an injury until Webster shows he is match fit.
  19. The only thing that Boyd is proving now is we are a better team without him (and the others who left) and the saying "No Boyd = No goals = No title" was a myth.
  20. I did like the bit where he said he was playing hide'n'seek upfront on his own....couldnt have said it better myself
  21. Thats hilarious!
  22. Correct....Im beginning to lose count
  23. Certainly a player who is winning me over. Didnt rate him at all in the last few years, saw him against Blackburn pre season and wondered who the hell he was as he was terrific....he has carried it onto the season and looks like top new signing. The lad must keep it up though. As Gav says: Miller, McGregor, Bougherra and Weir (Majority of the spine) would be in first for me also.
  24. Was thinking about this on Sunday aswell. I can see the 100% going in one of those games with a dodgy draw but cant see a defeat in any of those games. One thing that is giving me confidence is the team will have belief in them that they can still win the game even we go behind which we have done in our last 4 games. The players surely also will have an inner hunger to keep it going. Valencia away is a different story, a draw there would be the best result so far IMO.
  25. I dont think ive wanted to win a title as much since 1997 as I do this year. It would be a crime for WS not to bow out with 3 in a row. He really deserves this to be 4 in a row but the fixture pile up was a joke in 2008 and cost us. Plue we havent done 3 in a row since the 90s and its about time we marched on. Celtic are absolute rank and we possibly have our best team in the last 6 years or so. Its still early in the season but if we are still winning as much then there has to be a campaign to get WS to stay on.
