  1. The thread title is spot on though and this team is impressing me more and more. Its not just winning its the way we are playing. Its easily the best football we've played in years. We have almost a perfect balance and for once it seems we arent playing players out of position. The likes of McCulloch is looking like he played centre midfield all his days along with Papac looking like he has always been a LB. I really wanted Novo to stay in the summer and had him down as one of the first on the team sheet last season but cant see where he would fit in at the moment. Considering our financial situation our striking options are fantastic when Jelavic is back and that includes the attacking wider players like Naismith and Weiss. I still slightly worry about Bougherra or Weir picking up an injury until Webster shows he is match fit.
  2. The only thing that Boyd is proving now is we are a better team without him (and the others who left) and the saying "No Boyd = No goals = No title" was a myth.
  3. I did like the bit where he said he was playing hide'n'seek upfront on his own....couldnt have said it better myself
  4. Thats hilarious!
  5. Correct....Im beginning to lose count
  6. Certainly a player who is winning me over. Didnt rate him at all in the last few years, saw him against Blackburn pre season and wondered who the hell he was as he was terrific....he has carried it onto the season and looks like top new signing. The lad must keep it up though. As Gav says: Miller, McGregor, Bougherra and Weir (Majority of the spine) would be in first for me also.
  7. Was thinking about this on Sunday aswell. I can see the 100% going in one of those games with a dodgy draw but cant see a defeat in any of those games. One thing that is giving me confidence is the team will have belief in them that they can still win the game even we go behind which we have done in our last 4 games. The players surely also will have an inner hunger to keep it going. Valencia away is a different story, a draw there would be the best result so far IMO.
  8. I dont think ive wanted to win a title as much since 1997 as I do this year. It would be a crime for WS not to bow out with 3 in a row. He really deserves this to be 4 in a row but the fixture pile up was a joke in 2008 and cost us. Plue we havent done 3 in a row since the 90s and its about time we marched on. Celtic are absolute rank and we possibly have our best team in the last 6 years or so. Its still early in the season but if we are still winning as much then there has to be a campaign to get WS to stay on.
  9. SFA say its no violent conduct?? Surely it should be whether there was intent or not which is plainly obvious.
  10. What has to be mentioned about this 9 wins is 4 of them have been AWAY games against Celtic, Hearts, Hibs and Aberdeen and we came from behind in 3 of them. In seasons gone by we would could have lost at least 2 of them. So it shows there is somthing about this team and its no a fluke we picked up wins. Arguable it means the next round of fixtures could be even easier as we have these teams at home and the tricky away games would be Tannadice and Fir Park.
  11. My only disappointment was it wasnt 0-5. The sending off took a sting out of Man Citys game and gave Arsenal a lift but if they had went out to play like that from the off I dont think it would have made a difference. How many times did they get into the box and just not shoot!!! Arshavin has a wicked shot so needs to use it more. Some of the football was sublime. And Fabianski had some cracking saves, no way can Almunia be picked ahead of him. 2/1 was a given :spl:
  12. We need to sign Miller up! 12 goals in 9 games and some terrific performances and finishes. That goal yesterday was a beauty. To hit it on the volley at pace to the exact correct place takes a lot of skill. Provan may have made a good point, Miller is a better finisher when he doesnt have time to think about things.
  13. As per Metlika post in the betting thread, 10-0 to PSV. Thats unreal. It was 2-0 at half time. Pete, did u see any of that??
  14. Samaras for sure should have been sent off, he had a few bookable offences, the knee into McGregors head was clear and Davie Provan said he doesnt know what he is thinking. It is the most unrecognisable Celtic team Ive seen, couldnt name at least 8 of them and their play reflects it. How they have won 8 games shows how poor the rest of the league is. We are miles ahead of them. Imagine Jelavic was playing today, it would have been even more convincing.
  15. The man needs a new 3 year contract.
  16. Easy easy easy. Total different 2nd half. Dont know why WS gave them so much respect in the first place, we are man for man better. The 2nd half was a stroll. Should have been 5-1. Lafferty needed to show a bit more composure. Miller's volley was stunning! Absolute stonewall penalty BTW
  17. YESSSSSSSSS yesss yesssss..... See...have a go at them and they are their for the taking. :robbo:
  18. I think both are comfortable in their own box. When we get forward we dont have enough support. Lafferty in the middle would make a difference. McCulloch has to be careful, he has had a yellow and a warning so perhaps take him off soon.
  19. Disappointing performance, we need to get stuck in a bit more and support Miller. Weiss would be tearing them apart on that wing. What part of 'Lafferty is shit on the left' does WS not get? Whittakers final ball and pass is still awful.
  20. Lafferty and McCulloch in. Weiss and Foster out. 4-5-1 with Lafferty on the left which is disappointing. Would rather have seen him upfront in a 4-4-2 or Weiss on the left. But in WS we trust. Mcgregor Whittaker Bougherra Weir Papac Naismith Davis Edu McCulloch Lafferty Miller Subs: Alexander, Broadfoot, Fleck, Foster, Weiss, Hutton C'mon the Gers
  21. Cant be far off from hearing the line ups. I think WS is going to go 4-5-1 with Broadfoot at RB and Whittaker in midfield but I hope not. Id put Whittaker on the bench and play Broadfoot RB with Weiss in.
  22. 11/1 for 2-0 is more for me. I also like Gers to 'win to nil' which is 4/1. Just need to win and not concede.
  23. Ladbrokes avoiding that bet Ian, maybe they know something! The only mention to a Pen is a Pen to be scored (either end) is 2/1. To be missed 9/1. The 9/1 is well worth a bet, I fancy them to get a pen and McGregor to save it.
  24. Celtic 5/4 Draw 12/5 Rangers 21/10 Correct Score 0-1 Rangers 7/1 0-2 Rangers 11/1 1-2 Rangers 10/1 0-3 Rangers 33/1 1-3 Rangers 28/1 2-3 Rangers 28/1 2-4 Rangers 100/1 Frankies 2-2 is 14/1 First Goalscorer: Miller 11/2 Lafferty 7/1 Beattie 7/1 Naismith 8/1 Weiss 14/1 Davis 16/1 Bougherra 40/1

    Gazza

One thing Gazza is lacking is not knowing how lucky he is. George Best eventually died due to drink, the Great Brian Laudrup who is a gent and hasnt abused any substance in his life gets cancer yet Gazza continues to abuse himself. I love Gazza to bits but I think he is beyond helping himself.
