He does look a heavy / strong runner which makes his pace deceiving. Im not sure if it was the St Johnstone or Hamilton game where I thought the same thing but then I realised he cant be that slow when he still won the race he was in.
-
As mentioned in another thread he could be the man to fire us to the title....2 pieces of sublime quality have kept us in the title race, but a shout goes to McGregor at the other of the park also. They are the 2 key men who are worth 10 million.
-
I thought Chelsea would beat Man U over the 2 legs but fair play to Man U. Semi's. Man Utd v Schalke....wont be easy for Man U but they couldnt ask for a better draw. Barcelona v Real Madrid.....these 2 games should be brilliant.
-
Title of the thread...we have a couple of good lads here like Frankie and Johnny who will Sub Ian the pint. Frankie will buy it or Johnny will home grow it with those fresh tomatoes Minced on a Wed afternoon is great!

Predictions: Im going for a good win, we're due to give someone a dooing. Aberdeen 0-3 Rangers. Jelavic 2 and Diouf. C'mon Walter, play a good line up and get stuck into this lot.

Bougherra and Diouf escape bans for Old Firm flashpoint
Gribz replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Diouf was right, it was the worst ref anyone has ever seen. -
The timing does stink but Id wish Bougherra well. Next season doesnt look good at all for numbers especially in defence. We need everyone to get together and drive towards winning the title this season....and if this takeover can ever be concluded it would help!

Allan McGregor - courting consistency instead of controversy
Gribz replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Maybe he wasnt on the POTY list as it would have embarrassed the rest. How can Whittaker make the list but Mcgregor cant. -
Ive always said our awful opposition / standard in the SPL is as much to blame, the football isnt worth watching. At the same time we are not pretty at all and the management has to take part of the blame there, no more so than the stubborness not to change things and play fresh youngsters like Hutton, Ness and Kerkar who cant do any worse than some of the players on show.

Stacks of missed opportunites along with mistakes which have been discussed in the past. The big screens was an error, they could easily have been built into the club deck stairways which may have looked ok. But the capacity would have been 57000 if seats had been put in the corners.

I'll be happy when (or if) the deal is ever concluded. It was supposed to be done and dusted by Thursday yet still no confirmation. Once it is concluded then can we start seeing how much McCoist has to spend when he has BEEN GIVEN the funds.

Yip getting him back would be terrific. As it stands we are going to be desperate for a centre half in the summer and Bartley would be near top of the list for me.
-
Same here. Cant be good days when we are counting on McCulloch and Broadfoot.
-
19 goals in the 4 quarter finals. 1 more than the CL quarters. Looks like Portugal will dominate the Semi finals. Porto and Benfica are already there bar a miracle and Braga have the advantage against Kiev.
-
Im sure we had a keeper called Lindsay in the late 80s also....Lindsay Hamilton

Allan McGregor - courting consistency instead of controversy
Gribz replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
He really came good in 2008 before his injury which ruled him out of the UEFA cup final. Some of his saves that season notably against Bremen and Celtic away were out of this world and Goram esk. When he started off in 2007 I had my doubts but along with Alan Hutton he is the most improved player we have had at the club in the last 10 years or even longer. I also cant believe he hasnt been snapped up, he is in the top 5 keepers in Britain and if Van Der Sar is retiring at the end of the season Mcgregor is more than capable as a replacement. -
17 goals in 3 of the semi finals alone. Real v Barca should be a cracking semi. Schalke awaiting Man U or Chelsea. So either Real or Barca against Man U is likely. But Id like to see Schalke win it.
-
Most welcoming news for me is the saga which has been going on for years could finally be over and it will put stability into the club. Big timly boost to go and get 3 points tonight.

By the time the split comes we will have held a slight disadvantage to Celtic as we would have played 1 less home game. So far both have played 15 at home and 13 away. We have 5 games left before the split, 4 of which are away (St Johnstone, Hamilton, Aberdeen, Dundee Utd) which will give us a split total of P33 Home 16 Away 17. Celtic have 5 games left with only 3 away (Inverness, Kilmarnock, St Johnstone) which will give them a split total of P33 Home 17 Away 16. Obviously the final OF game will be at Ibrox to even things up but then there is no guarantee the remaining 4 games will be divided to 2 at home and 2 away....thus showing that the split can cause a terrible disadvantage. So assuming both with remaining games before the split then going into the final fixtures 2 points behind isnt that bad and keeps the title in our hands if we win all our games.

I think he is using a bit of reverse psychology here by making a point we were close to being in that situation again this season but no help was offered, so it will be interesting to see what those genuises at the SPL do to assist Celtic. Id love to see them play 4 games in a week and blow both league and cup.

Lafferty and Cole Fit For Saints Trip
Gribz replied to Rangers Football Club's topic in Rangers Chat
Obviously the more players available the better but we still had a few attacking options on the bench on Saturday who never got used. Its the defence and centre midfield that is the concern. Weir is the only natural centre back, unless Papac goes back to his original position - which Id possible go for tonight and put Whittaker to LB. Edu is absolutely awful and surely cant start. -
That worked. your not just a pretty face!

Yip, I posted he got in the way because it was simple on the eye to see this. The problem is Edu (and Whittaker) have 6 or 7 stinkers then 1 good game, therefore the 1 good game gives them another 7 starts straight away.
