Id probably take Strachan over McCoist at the moment but the thoughts on McCoist are guess work at the moment. He might end up being good. But agree with Juffery, Willkins along side him would be a cracking appointment. However fresh faces would be my preference. Michael Laudrup or Martin Jol are pipe dreams.

The worst thing is WS will continue to play him for the rest of the season expecting him to get better. The guy is finished and suffering burn out due to so many games.
-
Played 1 season too much mate. Would have retired an absolute star last summer but this year has caught up on him. Probably not his fault as WS has used him as if he is 19 plus Andy Webster couldnt manage to pull on a jersey. Weir needed to be used sparingly like Alex ferguson uses Giggs and Scholes but Weir has played almost every game.

There is a few guys in England who just pop up everywhere, have a nightmare then get jobs elsewhere. Micky Adams is probably the top candidate. Aidy boothroyd Paul Jewell (although has had the odd decent run with a club) Gary Megson (started off rank at Sheff Wed) Ian Dowie - maybe knocks Micky Adams off top spot. Paul Hart Any others?

Cracking end to the match yesterday, 119th min equilizer for Everton with a cracking free kick then Everton go on and win on pens with Ashley Cole missing. Anelka showing his mood swings again with a pass back of a pen.
-
A Diouf hatrick is 100/1 BTW.
-
For those who like a flutter like myself. Selected odds. Davis and Whittaker first goal attractive seen as Whittaker is on pens. Although 18/1 could also be the price of us getting a pen today - long shot! but Im going for Diouf first goal. Celtic 11/10 Rangers win 12/5 Draw 12/5 First Goalscorer Jelavic 11/2 Healy 7/1 Lafferty 7/1 (not sure how they work that one out) Naismith 8/1 Diouf 9/1 Weiss 10/1 Whittaker 18/1 (should be on pens) Davis 20/1 Bougherra 28/1 (always worth a quid or 2) Correct score (Rangers win only) 0-1 7/1 0-2 11/1 1-2 10/1 0-3 33/1 1-3 28/1 (repeat of last away OF game) 2-3 25/1 0-0 8/1 1-1 11/2 2-2 14/1 3-3 50/1

I was supposed to be on a flight but as soon as I knew it was during OF it got knocked back 24 hours.
-
Thats what I fogot to add to my post. In saying that I just know WS will go with the usual players who are struggling ahead of the inform ones so yes its massive the likes of Weir, Whittaker and Davis play well.
-
Agreed that we should be setting out to go there and win. If we sit back and allow them to play and end up losing then its pointless. We have the players who can hurt them - Jelavic, Diouf and Weiss so if he sets up a system to allow those 3 freedom then I can only see an away victory.
-
Id say if there was one thing about Lafferty its he has never had a run of games in the position where he would do best. Id say this is like the old No.10 playing off the main striker. He has always been used as a winger or the front man albeit very poorly.

Ive got it at the moment on the Walter Smith thread when clicking on page 2.

Ness (if fit) and Weiss have to play for me. There always seems to be a bit of space at Parkhead games and Weiss' pace and skill could exploit that and than have the classy Jelavic up with him. Ness doesnt deserve to be dropped again if fit. It would be Edu and Naismith making way from Frankies team. Naismith probably not fully fit plus has a bad OF game last week and could have been sent off. :sw::mb::sp: :ehd::sd::kbartley::jn::vw: :nj:

Agree with Frankie, not underwhelmed for any OF game. Often can be disappointed with a poor match on show but always looking out for the next fixture.
-
One of the more frustrating things about this is that our best form of defence is attack when playing weaker opposition. I still firmly believe our XI is stronger than theirs, I think the 4-2 and 3-1 wins at parkhead this season and last prove that. We would have killed the cup game off if we went for it. Bit of pressure is off us as we are the away side and as you say a draw maybe suits us better so I hope we punish them on the counter when they have to come and have a go at us.
-
Yeah I know but Im into Fri evening and fed up waiting on an OF thread

Heart says 1-0 Gers with Diouf scoring but head says 1-1.
-
OF preview???
-
Diouf is a must for Sunday. Just turning up with wind them up. He will relish going there and getting the abuse and hopefully sticks it up them with a top performance.
-
Been impressed with Diouf since he signed. Was totally expecting trouble but he seems like he might want to stay on. His performances have been good. Lets hope he keeps it up.
-
A lot will depend how much the players want this and how much thoughts are already thinking about Sunday. 1-0 Healy

Just because PLG failed doesnt mean we shouldnt not be looking abroad again. Its more about the individual and how good he is plus the club / players should adjust to that persons way. Michael Laudrup has been 1 guy Ive wanted for years. Someone mentioned Holloway the other day and that wouldnt be a bad shout, i like his style of play. Its a bit like Keegans style where he goes after a win rather than setting out not to lose. If anything its entertaining.
-
And that should end any imagination that Chelsea could still win the league...thank feck. Its a 2 horse race now. Would love to see Arsenal win it as I feel Wenger has been better than 3 titles in his 15 years but at the same time Id still like to see Sir Alexs face when he gets No.19 and knocks Liverpool off the perch. As long as West Ham stay up now we're all good.

Certainly a top 10 of all time. He couldnt lace Maradonas boots so cant be the all time best, but an absolute cracking player.
