Cant see that one. Dont think Cuellar is that type of guy. Plus Villa wouldnt have accepted the offer if he wasnt willing to come back. Im sure he has sat down with Mcleish and spoke about it. The only strange one is how other EPL teams havent bid for him. He'd improve most defences down there and 2m is a snip in their market.
-
Normally Im not for players returning but if its out better previous ones who have either a) went onto better things and b) would improve the team then Ive no problem with them coming back. Id take Hutton, Gattuso, Miller and Cuellar in an instant. How could anyone prefer Whittaker, McCulloch, Lafferty and Broadfoot to the first 4 names?
-
Yeah was wondering that. Perhaps a generous but affordable signing on fee also?
-
He would be a welcome signing for numbers but if we get Cuellar and then bougherra signed a new deal it would makes things better as then we have Weir and Broadfoot as cover plus Papac and Whittaker can play there. Would still prefer Bartley back.
-
Will wait until he has signed but cant say Im not excited. Well done Big Eck on accepting 2m.
-
Is this a thank you match for taking Beattie away last season?
-
I thought Weiss was terrific. Players cant be like Maradona every week and will have the odd quiet game. But for a right winger he did very well for us on the left and Id be delighted to see him back.
-
What a dope the guy is. Im quite pleased with Ortiz, seems a promising signing.

Miller, Cuellar, Goodwillie, Davis, Bougherra, Weir...
Gribz replied to Danny's topic in Rangers Chat
Not too bothered about Goodwillie, Id much rather Miller resigned. But top priority should be Cuellar, we should be doing everything to sign him. And if we got Bougherra on a new deal then those 2 at the back would suit me perfect with Weir as back up. -
If it had been 1 bad result id not been concerned but to come away with 3 defeats and no goals scored has to raise an eyebrow. Its nothing major but you wonder how the players feel coming away from a trip to Germany having not scored a goal and having defensive errors. Fitness will be up which is the good thing but organisation and tactics will be up in the air and any new signing will now have to fit it straight away in competitive matches.
-
I would guess it was Weir or Ehiogu.
-
Saying all the right things there, but we need to see the signature. Absolutely need strengthening at centre half and players who go straight into the team.

Salmond setting up a spy network? Scotsman July 12.

You have a point that it might have struck Ally he needs at least 2 more first teamers. I think everything knew this pre-season though. The other blessing in disguise might be that things have went wrong in friendlies rather than during the season.

Lucky Shag is a cracking bar except it closes early.

We're 850 grand better off after Adam signs for Liverpool
Gribz replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
Mancini inherited ego's and just added to them with bigger ego's buy over paying players who think they dont need to get out of first gear. If he gets his signings right and gets the players in the right of frame of mind they will be closer. But you need that strong mentality to drive it and it doesnt get stronger than Alex Ferguson. Dalglish is mentally strong also and bought winners at Blackburn like Shearer. -
We're 850 grand better off after Adam signs for Liverpool
Gribz replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
Agree Dado. Didnt see where the media were coming from with Adam's performances. He was their 2nd best performer in a Championship level team. (Vaughan was the better player). Man Utd are going after Modric, Nasi and Sneijder but Liverpool snap up Henderson and Adam. I know who my money would be on winning the title. -
Thats unbelievable, for the roof on a whole stand / section says something was well wrong and should have been prevented. Not to take away this being a tradegy with 1 guy dying and others injured, but as Craig says its scary to think if that happened during a match.
-
Jog on, thats my job. :box: but the standard here isnt the greatest, I'll take Japan and Korea which is pretty decent. I often watch some of the games from their leagues, the crowds are massive.
-
For a minute there I thought Alan Hutton was thrown into the deal aswell. Good signing though, looking forward to seeing him play although Ive no idea where he will play yet.
-
Well, we're not the Real Sociadad

Antti Niemi? Quality keeper but wrong time as we had Charbonnier and Klos yet just came of the back of an era from Goram.
-
Taking on from the Stuart Munro comments on other thread, just wondered if we have a list of unsung hero's. First one that springs to my mind is Gordon Durie. Always thought Durie was bit underrated and was a quality alround striker.
-
Good stuff. Happy with this, get a good feeling about Ortiz. Total freshness in the middle of the park and will bring flair into the team.
-
Agree with that. Papac is a good performer but if there is a better option Id go for it. He is steady and doesnt let us down and does come out with the odd top performance. But 5 years down the line he will fit into the 'ok' bracket of former LB's like the 3 V's - Vidmar, Vanoli and Vignal. Davie Robertson, Arthur Numan and maybe even Frankies old fave Stuart Munro have set the standards for LB.
