  1. We should be doing everything to keep McGregor. Most improved player in the last 20 years, he's gone past Hutton's level of improvement for me. If he wants 25k then surely a deal could be reach where he gets a lower basic but gets bonuses for clean sheets and match winning saves which he has done this season.
  2. Common sense in the championship. Ive always thought the same for Champions league and UEFA cup matches also. After 90 mins of the 2nd leg the away goal rule should be scrapped as it does give the away team an extra 30 mins to score. In fact away goals should be scrapped altogether. The first leg could be played in pissing down rain on a terrible pitch but the 2nd game could be played on a sunny night with a smooth pitch given the away team an advantage again.
  3. Fixed that for you I want the winners of this game to go up. Ive had a sneaky feeling Swansea would go up for weeks but it would be nice to see Forest back in the top flight. Do away goals count in the play offs?? If so its a decent 0-0 for Forest as they can score at Swansea who would then need 2. An interesting final would be Cardiff v Swansea. I wonder if that would be switched to Millenium stadium or kept at Wembley.
  4. Crikey, the thought of that makes me nervous. Sack waiting 76 mins!!!
  5. Kilmarnock 0-4 Rangers Jelavic (2), Lafferty, Davis
  6. Well done McGregor. Could only be: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/13367355.stm
  7. Im a bit more nervous today than I was starting this thread yesterday!!
  8. That would be the kick Alan Thompson gave the guy. The idiot must be use to be arrested, look at 1min into the clip - his hands are together already waiting for the cuffs.
  9. Terrible situation. Lennon has a mouth on him but this is a low level which nobody deserves. As said the idiot could have had anything in his hands. Hearts will get hammered but it will have a knock on effect for the rest of the SPL and I can see serious things taken here like closed door games. There is already an agenda against the OF with bigotry etc and this is going to implement strong changes. Its a difficult one for the stewards. There is maybe 1 or 2 stewards around each exit looking after a section of perhaps 50-100 fans, they cant expect this sort of thing to happen, the guy could have been standing up to go for a pie or to the toilet, yet when its too late the steward cant stop him accessing the pitch which is easy to access anyway. Stewards going to have to be robots and have it drilled into them that everyone who now stands up is a potential threat. There is vigilance and there is over vigilant.
  10. .....Yip as he leads out Cardiff next season
  11. Easily worth a tenner. although Im liking the draw.
  12. The one I disagree with is Whittaker. No more than a 6 for me. Blew hot and cold but more often cold....when he was awful he was really awful, but was capable of good games also.
  13. And McCulloch and Hutton.....
  14. The only SPL players id consider adding would be Eremenko and Templeton. Was quite impressed with the latter last Saturday. Goodwillie has a bit of talent so could be another.
  15. Dont disagree with much of that.
  16. What is refreshing is Hutton, Ness and Wylde are like 3 new signings. They have all established themselves in the matchday squad. A solid centre half and centre midfielder would be on top of my list.
  17. You cant beat the feeling of a final day win as we know too well in 2003 and 2005, but its a bit like when England are in the World cup, i often dont mind seeing them get to the quarters then go out: But I always say while they are in it, they can win it so the sooner they are out the better. Hence if its wrapped up tonight it would be equally sweet.
  18. Remember we have Beattie to come back, and possibly Velicka?? A lot will depend on the loans. Would like Weiss and Bartley back for another season. Foster did ok when called upon so wouldnt be bad cover, and Healy would be a better squad player than Diouf. Naming new signings will be tough to say until we know the budget. I wouldnt do any knee jerk reations especially with the likes of Edu. 3 good games out of 40 doesnt make him a good player, but he has shown he has the ability. Ive always said Lafferty has something in his locker and now he is playing through the middle with Jelavic we are seeing a good partnership developing, they are both big strong and quick.
  19. The thing is I think we have capable of that all season. Its just that in the last few games a sorted 4-4-2 with players in proper positions has clicked. We did have a few good games earlier in the season notiably Aberdeen and Celtic away, the goals at Pittodrie were good counter breaking stuff.
  20. 1) Hearts win tonight and Gers are champs? 2) Go to Kilmarnock on Sunday and win the title there? I would like to go and win it but certainly wouldnt argue with Hearts winning tonight and putting it the bag early.
  21. It makes you wonder how good we would have been if we had played the type of football we are playing now in the last 3-4 years. I felt it was wrong of WS to announce his retirement in advance, and during this season had so many reminders of 1998, but one more performance on Sunday lays all the ghosts of 1998 to rest. It would just be wrong if we didnt win on Sunday.
  22. They have given us an allocation almost the same amount as their biggest crowd of the season yet they are moaning that we could sell their ground out and given them a big pay day going into the summer. I was thinking about this watching the game on Sunday that the home stands had so many empty seats and that it only makes sense to allocated a section of those stands to Rangers fans.
  23. Its the only thing he'll win!! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/13344486.stm Really thought WS should have got this, our form has been superb. How many goals and wins of late!! I hope McGregor or Jelavic get Player of the month. McGregor has about 8 clean sheets out of 9 (Hamilton, St Johnstone, Aberdeen, Celtic, Dundee utd (a), Motherwell, Hearts, Dundee Utd (h))
  24. Really tough one to pick between Weir, Davis and Jelavic for me. But I'll give it to: :sd: I excluded him from my team of the season on another thread the other day as I feel he has been well below average, but last night he was everywhere and looked a new player.
  25. Well done. Cyber pint for you
