Like the way they show Owen and Alumina first. I thought it was supposed to the best players availlable

What playing positions would you like to see supplemented?
Gribz replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
Agree with Stewarty, we need to strengthen all over the park bar in goal. If we hold onto Foster it would help. Perhaps Whittaker could be a centre half more often as he was arguably better there than at RB. In centre mid if Ness and Hutton come on another season then fitting them in with McCulloch and Davis is ok but we would still be short there. Edu is hit or miss but more so tha latter. Id like to see Weiss back, that would solve a lot but one other wide guy is needed. A mixture of quality and quantity is needed, we need to boost the squad by AT LEAST 3 so we can field subs next season!! But half of the signings should be in like Jelavic who can walk straight into the first team. -
12m for the two, then it should be 11m for McGregor and 1m for Adam. Yes Adam had a good season but I did see a few games where he was at his old self and tripping over the ball on occasion. I feel he'll get found out if he moves to a bigger club. At Blackpool its like playground football, Holloway allows people to go and express themselves, at Villa he'll need to fit into a system of a sort. As much as I want Mcgregor to stay, I wouldnt grudge him a big move with a big pay as he is in the the top 5 keepers in the UK but it has to be nothing short of 10m.

What's your predictions for the Champions league final tonight?
Gribz replied to Bears's topic in General Football Chat
Possibly the best club performance Ive ever seen, it was on the highest stage too. People were saying it was men against boys, i found that unfair as it was more like Supermen. To call Man U boys was unfair because any other team in the world would have been in the same boat. Id struggle to name a World XI that could beat Barca at the moment when they play like that. They even had 5 ft 8" midefielder Mascherano at centre half and you wouldnt have been able to tell. Utd need a few signings to compete. Sneijder would be a start. -
I was looking forward to this tournament when it started up but the organisation has been messed up. 1 game in Feb during a busy period of when club footballs best part of the season starts, then the remaining games squeezed in at the end of the season. It should all be played in June or July when all fans are in need of some games and just before players go back for pre season. Having a slight competitive edge to it would give our players a head start for the season plus Euro qualifiers. I dont mind if all the games are played in one country but having a 50000 ground with only 6000 fans is again silly. Hopefully when the games are played in scotland they use the likes of Tynecastle, Easter Road or pittordrie to get full houses and a good atmosphere. With the bad organisation of this the FA and English will be thankful they didnt agree to take part.

Possible CL qualifying opponents for Scottish champions
Gribz replied to calscot's topic in Rangers Chat
Thats just getting silly. This is reason the UEFA cup has went backwards. 3 qualifying rounds then if they do make it in there is about 40 games to even win it. -
Bobby Carlos is still playing? I thought he retired years ago.

Im all for playing a big EPL side in a friendly but 3 weeks into the season and having a 'protocol' to postpone 1 game shows how laughable the SPL are. Fixture pile ups has been a problem for the last few years due to the winter plus heavy schedule after Xmas yet we are going to cancel a week in the summer? Strange one. Dado....yes we won 2-0 last time out, Sebo and Novo scored.

Carlo Ancelotti is sacked as Chelsea manager
Gribz replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
Stab in the dark here but could Wenger be next up at Chelsea?? Abramovic wants the Arsenal way of playing while winning things so could offer Wenger a silly amount of money to take over. -
Cant play it overseas, whats the just of it? Dodds is a Gers fan. Spoke to him a few times when he played for Aberdeen. I remember talking to him in a bar after he scored against us at ibrox to nick a 2-2 draw in the 90s and we had a joke about what was he thought he was doing!!
-
Always thought he had a bit of talent but was absolutely wasted on the left and he cant play their to save his life. Play him through the middle and we have a decent striker on our hands. Him and jelavic have looked to strike up a real decent partnership. Lafferty is capable of 20 goals a season if he stays sensible off the park and plays upfront. He has been a bit similar to Daniel Cousin....both are capable of good stuff upfront but the attitude has never been right, but Lafferty seems to have got a 2nd chance and he should grab it. A stay for me.
-
For me, I include the scarpy wins at Hamilton, St Johnstone and Aberdeen. Hamilton away was 0-0 bar a quality piece of jelavic magic. Individual class from McGregor and Jelavic probably won us the title.....2 players i wouldnt swap at all
-
We could mate, because Weiss is a right winger....WS played him on the left.

Honestly, the last 4 weeks has been the best football Ive seen from a Rangers team since Advocaats first 2 years. I do not think its a coincidence that: 1) We have set out to WIN games 2) Have a settled team (no changes in 4 or 5 games) 3) Not just a settled team but players playing in their natural positions. Ive always said if we play to our strengths then we are capable of blowing teams away.....the evidence of this is 5-0 at Fir park, 4-0 at tannadice, 5-1 at rugby park, 4-0 v Hearts. Fair play to the team for spirit also, they dig deep and dragged out ugly wins at Hamilton, St Johnstone and Aberdeen before the good run began. Its a bit like the 2003 team who scored over 100 goals from all over the place. Myself and Pete have always said this when Boyd was playing that we were capable of getting goals from all over rather than a slow poacher. No Boyd = No Goals = No title = hahaha  From a personal point of view: Allan Mcgregor...cant speak highly enough of him. this season Ive said he is in the top 5 keepers in the UK, i wouldnt swap him for any keeper in the Premier League in England. He is the most improved player in SPL history. Top man! Kenny Miller - I was gutted Miller left in january. I was happy he signed 3 years ago much to some Bears dismae, but his work ethic and pace was always going to be an asset, he finally came good with his finishing this season and then we sold him. Kenny deserves a huge mention to this title...and he is still the SPL top scorer this season. Jelavic - A Dado Prso in the making?? Thats a complement enough! Vlad Weiss - Probably my fave player this year, I really liked him and the way he just gets the ball and has a go. He has caught the Rangers bug and I hope we get him signed up. The Youngsters - Hutton, Ness, Wylde! Showing the likes of Fleck and Wilson how its done.....Brilliant contribution from these 3.

Holy shit Ive no idea how I managed to get home and post this..... but what a party we had at the Rangers Bar in Singapore. A great turnout, not mobbed or over busy but just perfect.....The songs were blasting from the off....it felt like we were in the away end at an OF game. Thats as good a sing song and bounce Ive ever had....we sang the full 90 mins and everyone was well behaved....guys ranging from 20 to 75 were there. Me being the local dragged 4 guys who were passing through or working and took them onto a pub crawl after the game.....and the Rangers were in town.....we upset a few Aussies who were out celebrating some shite game and we took over their party Ohhh...time for a beer.
-
Ive been up for 6 hours. Dare say if the folks werent here Id have cracked open the first can of laga laga laga at 7am but must remain sensible. Heading out shortly for a small lunch then let the festivities begin! Absolute scorthing day of 36oC so its the old shorts n t-shirt....just need a Gers win to top everything off.
-
Its went a bit quiet in the last year or 2 mate as the owner passed away. His wife is still keeping it going. Their is still a group of regulars who go. OF games are busy but I admit I dont go their regularly for games as I am not out on Sunday nights (if we are playing sunday afternoons), so tend to watch at home. I expect a big turnout tomorrow though.
-
Yeah scrap friendlies apart from testimonials. Tournaments like Emirates tournament before the season have much more about them. This is why I liked the return of the home nations plus Ireland as it should have a bit of competition. Scotland v England would be a welcome return friendly as it wouldnt exactly be a friendly.

Seen as the bird and my mum are tagging along with me and my Dad we will have to keep them half happy so the plan is Raffles hotel for Singapore Slings at lunch time, then a quality German bar called Brewertz down by the river, which like Johnny brews all its own beer, until late afternoon. For the match it will either be the Sportsbar (Davie Cooper Memorial Bar) or grab a carry out and watch it in the comforts at home.

Great stuff Dan, That would be my top pick for a game to go to.

Havent decided where Im drinking yet, Ive got the folks over from UK. But it will be an early start around 1pm for a good 6 hours drinking before kick off. Im off Monday and tuesday so let the party continue.

I'll go one further and expect him to move to Liverpool first for about 7 million followed by a move to either Birmingham or Blackburn within 18 months for less than 4 million.
