  1. Im petrifed about the World Cup qualifying campaign with this joker in charge. There is 1 or 2 decent players in the squad and with the right manager in place (Bring back Walter) we'd qualify for the WC as Croatia and Serbia are the 2 top seeds who are beatable.
  2. Yip they just did today. Hull job is available, thats were McLeish could go....in saying that West Brom is available also LOL.
  3. Just a thought, wouldnt the winner of this game lose parachute payments? Wonder how much that it.
  4. Good post Zappa. Pretty much agree with all you have put down there. But would also think Ortiz would be one away for sure.
  5. Nothing but admire what McCoist has done, shown his qualitites as a man in the last few months. Results wise has been wierd, some good results and some poor ones. I still think he has suffered due to not having a good No.2. Think he more than deserves a full crack at it again though. But Im wary about some of his tactical faults....Bring in Ray Wilkins as No.2 and I think it would work wonders.
  6. Wonder what game is worth more value wise: Blackpool v West Ham or Munich v Chelsea. I'll be backing a West Ham and Bayern double anyway. And I'll throw Hertz into the mix in the SFA cup final seen as I was due to back them in october!
  7. Id have Rino miles ahead of the likes of Ferguson coming back, now that would be a bad move. I think Ness and Hutton would benefit hugely with someone of the calibre of Gattuso. But as Gav says all will depend on the transfer ban.
  8. Only says he's in talks with the board. He could be next up at Wolves
  9. Do you think this would have been the same for any preferred bidder? Bill Ng said today 'an observer' has told him for his own sanity to stay away. You wonder which side these comments are coming from.
  10. Im considering it also, bit of a long trek for me but West Ham dont get to Wembley often so have a few people looking for tickets...if I successful Im on a flight!
  11. As Frankie has said Ng has never pulled out but any deal has to be realistic. He first backed away due to administrators moving the goalposts too often during negotiations. He is still in the hunt however his bid is now 50% less than previous. Initial offer was 20m, since Miller pulled out and Duff and Phelps have said they are willing to talk to Ng with less than the 11.6M Miller offered. From the man himself:
  12. Of the high earners Id let Whittaker, Edu and possibly Davis away. Davis blows hot and cold. On his day he is class but he doesnt perform on that level enough. I liked Papac but Wallace should fit into the LB slot. Healy should have been released in January. Building a new team around Perry, Little, McCabe, Hutton, Ness and Fleck isnt too bad when fitting them in with Bocanegra, Goian, McGregor, Wallace, Naismith and Aluko. We'd soon make up any 10 pt deduction on most SPL clubs.
  13. Why on earth not? Id have been delighted if we got Miller back for a 3rd spell last year, he shouldnt have left 2nd time round anyway.
  14. Ive seriously got to ask the question are the other clubs chairmen fit and proper. 1 or 2 of them have even admitted they are taking their own financial concerns into consideration on todays meetings. People like that shouldnt be allowed to enter the discussions. Its obvious there is going to be the agenda purely to benefit the other clubs rather than anyone else, therefore the outcome I can see if Rangers remaining in the SPL but penalised as much as possible by fines and point deduction. The knock on effect will even go into the Scottish national team as its been Rangers who have won Scotland most co-efficent points. There is a lot of bridges gone beyond repair...Really think that any Newco or current Co just applies to enter the English league.
  15. That was the scenario I thought could happen a few weeks ago, would be brilliant if QPR go there and get a point and Utd sneak the title. In saying that City looked like Champions yesterday, Yaya Toure is world class and was the difference. Without him they would have drew a blank yesterday. Wasnt a good game but the best thing to come out of it is Arsenal still being 3rd....
  16. If Newcastle get a draw or win then the Man Utd game becomes good. Pity the goal difference wasnt closer, had Man Utd been looking to score 3-0 or 4-0 then would set it up nicely but realistically they'd need to hit 8 or 9 today if City win.
  17. Could be magic game, hoping the Toon at least get a draw. Atmosphere will be great. Spurs go to Villa also and if Spurs win then Villa are really in the relegation battle if Bolton and QPR win!
  18. Has there been a good game at Wembley since its been renovated? I cant think of one.
  19. Thats it....fancied us to win in Cardiff as we have a cracking record there. A home draw on Monday is welcome this time!!. Surely cant blow a 2 goal lead. Get passed this and Im on route to Wembley!!!!
  20. No but id be up for renaming it to I-brox sponsored by Apple.
  21. The old Alex Higgins! Fine servant to the club. Hope he gets a good deal / club....would imagine he would slot into the Premier League no problem.
  22. Overrated manager. Won his early Liverpool titles with the best team at the time. Won Blackburn their title with money galore. Failed at Newcastle. Failed at Celtic. Failed again at Liverpool. He brought morale back into the team when he came back but I cant stand watching them play. Im glad they are doing so poor at home. But I expected them to be outside the top 6 when his signings were Carroll, Henderson and Charlie Adam. He should have fought tooth and nail to keep Torres and still bought Suarez, that 2 upfront would be brilliant. Dont like Chelsea but I hope they stuff Liverpool on Satuday.
  23. Seems like he would be easier for the FA to control, more of a yes man than Harry. Also by far the cheaper option. It just shows you those people running the game dont have a clue nor the countrys best interests in mind. As Gav says, done well at Fulham and WBA but just decent every where else bar Liverpool. Baffled why Redknapp didnt get it. The FA might not like his antics or tricks at times, and thought thats not their type of person. In a way its similar to Clough not getting the job all those years ago.....not on same scale as Clough was a better manager but there is similarities. Saying that, this is the FA. It wouldnt surprise me if this is a short term appointment for the Euros only then Harry gets it for the WC.
  24. None of Man Utds big players had an impact. Not one spark from Rooney, Giggs, Scholes, Nani, Valencia or Young. I thought they should have brought on Berbatov to hold it up a bit more with his strength as the others seemed to be eased off it. Newcastle away could be easier than people think, Newcastle like to have a go at teams which could open them up and City could score a few. I hope Im wrong though. Another factor could be Mark Hughes going back to his old club with QPR on the last day and ruining the party for his other old club! Thats very unlikely given how bad QPR can be but if they are fighting to stay in the league then who knows. So many twists this season I wouldnt say its over yet.
  25. I can see a draw. Im hoping Man Utd win or at least get a point. Really dont want to see Man City win the league. Should be a cracker anyway.
