  1. You wonder why Wenger persists with Arshavin on the left wing for Arsenal when he has always been a player who plays behind the main striker. On his day playing behind Van Persie they could be unstoppable.
  2. Just to be a pedantic sod (Craig isnt online so I'll do the honours ) A few hundred out of 80000 full San Siro is still less than 1%.
  3. Defintely right in saying the Russians are a dark horse. Banker for the group. But problem is they face someone from Group B. But the fact they are playing practically in their own back yard gives them a chance. Still early days though. The Czech's are a poor side at the moment. Looking forward to tonights matches. Will show us all about this group of death.
  4. Someone to give everyone a lift on and off the park. Obviously has huge desire for Rangers. He'll inject a huge spark into the midfield, is far more mobile than McCulloch and a better tackler than Edu. If he gives us an hour every week then Id be delighted. Likes of Hutton and Ness will only improve and thrive next to Rino. An absolute yes from me!
  5. TBH it was the first thing I wondered when I saw the thread on the opening day. I was wondering when was the last time the Queen pulled on the Rangers shirt and ran out the tunnel.
  6. From my first post the only different one I had was England to go through in runners up spot.....they always seem to get out their group.
  7. Thierry Henry springs to mind.
  8. On another thread he says he doesnt know what league we'll be in. Dont think a trip to Germany would be necessary if we are in Div 3. Id have thought an Ibrox glamour tournament as a fund raiser would have been a better option. Or is this already in the plans???
  9. Probably someone who failed on the right!!! But nothing class since McCann or Albertz. Lovenkrands on his game was good but was also better through the middle
  10. It comes down to the colour and if it has any relevance. Im sure a large element of our support would have no problem wearing orange for a season The Malaysian guys seem to think putting red into it will raise the Cardiff brand in SE Asia. I cant see why they dont keep a bit of blue though as Malaysias flag has red white and blue. It can go down well popular if its a one off like what Arsenal did one season wearing their original maroon shirt for centenary season or something.
  11. TBH I didnt hear anything of his form at Blackpool. I was just going by his Ibrox days so far. Putting him out on the left in an OF game when his reputation was sky high was the worst thing that could have happened to him, its ruined him since. But if he still has the talent in the locker then we need to give him a run upfront and time will tell. Would like to see him come good but I agree with you time is running out.
  12. Yip, Blanc seems to have rebuilt them and got rid of their ego's. Many a tournament too soon though. The French have always been good at rebuilding....I remember Euro 96 when people couldnt believe Cantona and Ginola werent included but then they went onto win WC 98 and Euro 2000.
  13. Good luck to him. Seemed to start brightly in his first few appreances but probably came to Rangers 3 years too late. Still, he's a legend compared to James Beattie!! Im hoping Hemmings shakes off his injury problems. Perhaps it is time to go with the youth. Hemmings and Fleck upfront with Naismith and Aluko in free roles behind them might work.
  14. There is always a dark horse. My 2 outside tips would Croatia and Russia. Croatia have some cracking players, with the turmoil surrounding Italys match fixing I can see them beating Italy and Ireland and going through, then they play the runners up in Englands group which is winnable. With Balotelli in the Italy team anything could happen. Then again the Italians are capable of winning it! But the Russians are practically playing in their own back yard, have a good group and I can see them doing well. 20/1 is worth a fiver.
  15. What about the other 125000? But TBH Im thinking that was one of the main reasons he'd have been dismissed.
  16. That is very key point and I hope FIFA have been supplied with this fact already. SFA are in a mess!
  17. I think a 'buy now, pay later' scheme on the season tickets would be more fair to fans and a more sensible approach from whoever is making the decision.
  18. Lennon wouldnt last 6 months in the Premier League. And TBH what neutral chairman would want him....all they need to do is watch a few minutes on Youtube and see what a pratt he can act. That 3-3 away to Killie last season when they were 3-0 saved his job. Then he has won the title in a 1 league team situation, he couldnt lose!
  19. I thought England would make it out of their group but Im beginning to doubt that now. The squad isnt good enough and with no Rooney in the first few games they could easily have another repeat of WC 2010 and struggle. 6 Liverpool players in the squad now which says it all. They have been rank this season. Barry centre midfielder out so Woy pulls in a defender - Jagielka. Lampard pulls out and he brings in Henderson (should have been Carrick IMO). Cahill out so he brings in a full back Kelly. The last one is a huge snub to Ferdinand. But Micah Richards is the one I cant work out. He'd be in my starting XI ahead of Glen Johnson. Maybe just means we'll get to enjoy England getting gubbed.
  20. If we see the same German team from 2010 WC then I cant see anyone beating them, I thought they were the best side in South Africa. They battered England and Argentina. If Moeller wasnt suspended in the semi against Spain I think they'd have won. Portugal need Ronaldo to be on top form else cant see them getting much.
  21. Looking forward to this starting next week. Fancy Germany to win it but Spain and Holland will be there also. Should be some cracking games in the group stages. Teams in bold to go through. Group A: Russia Czech Rep Poland Greece Group B: Holland Germany Portugal Denmark Group C: Spain Italy Rep Ireland Croatia Group D: England France Ukraine Sweden
  22. Rodgers to Liverpool. Lambert to Villa. Norwich, Swansea, West Brom and Chelsea still to appoint now. Im surprised about the Rodgers move. I thought Liverpool would went for a big name like Deschamps, Guardiola or Van Gaal. Lambert has obviously been promised some money but Villa have been a selling club for a few seasons. He did wonders with Norwich and deserves a crack at a big club.
  23. I'd buy Leeds United  Time for a
  24. Considering the costs and only McGregor and Hutton are worthy then its been a complete waist of resources. Cant speak highly enough of McGregor and Hutton though, 2 absolute gems.
  25. See how much's offered first! 150m fee plus 300k / week....id say he will go.
