  1. Bougherra who??? Defence (without doubt includes McGregor) has probably went beyond expectations considering during the summer we were thinking it would maybe be Broadfoot and Papac lining up together, then there was the Cuellar "will he sign / wont he sign" debate. As Gav says the clean sheet stats are amazing. Still think Whittaker is a bombscare defending and careless all over the park. The only concern is the long term future of the defence. Bartley is on loan, Bocanegra is 33 (but probably has at least 2 years in him by the looks of things) and Weir is 41. Id say Goian will be one half of the centre partnership for the next 3-4 years but who with? Perhaps Papac can move into the centre again now we have Wallace and I have a feeling we will go back in for Cuellar at some stage. The other option of course is to put Whittaker into the middle, thats the only position he has impressed me but I wouldnt rule out the possibility of that success being down to playing next to Weir.
  2. Is that what those sports bra's are? I was maybe thinking it was a new design of bibs for 5-asides. Im hoping Hemmings can get 100% fit and we see him in action. With the striker dept being the area we are a bit short in Im looking forward to seeing him and think he has good potential. Quite an exciting prospect.
  3. My first thought was Albertz but I'll have a guess at someone who hasnt been named. Stuart Munro...(we know Frankie is a fan).....
  4. What is good about City right now is they have off field stuff with Tevez that they swept under the carpet and just got on with job in hand and showed no player is bigger than the club. Also Balotelli is a bit of a nutter off the park setting fireworks off in his house yet they play him and he scores. If Mancini holds that dressing room together they are going to take some stopping. This isnt a one of result, they went to Spurs and battered them 5-1 and I can only see Chelsea being capable of beating them at Stamford Bridge. Utd desperately need a world class midfielder. Once Vidic and Jones gel then their defence will be fine but Im still baffled about that 16 million quid goalkeeper who looks about as good as Massimo Taibi.
  5. Unbelievable scoreline. Man Utd's defence was appauling and I dont fancy being one of them this morning when they report for training. Fergusons selections have been a bit baffling in 2 massive games against Liverpool and Man City and its shown that they have only taken 1 point from 6 in those games. Cant work out why Evans was preferred to Jones, plus Vidic was reportedly dropped rather than injured. Rio Ferdinand is a shadow of his former self, he just doesnt look fit. The Man citys squad shown they are stronger than Utd all over the park. Better keeper, better defending and easily a better midfield. Bar Rooney Citys front line is miles better also. David Silva just oozes class. Was surprised that Milner was preferred to Nasri but it was a right decision then they have Toure, Barry and De Jong as holding players. I like Dzeko upfront he is like a young Shevchenko. Really cant see anyone stopping Man City to the title, Chelsea losing to QPR confirmed that to me. Arsenal gathering a bit of momentum now but still have a lot of work to do. Still think they are rocky at the back and missing a top midfielder....but what they do have is the best striker in Europe at the moment in Van Persie.
  6. Stats are no use for the current. I think Healy would do well if got a run in the team. He would probably have a Miller type record when he would score goals but not every game. Must admit, id like to see a bit more of the ulsterman.
  7. A season lasts until May and Jelavic is the key man, it was probably him that blasted us to the title last year when he came back, winner at Hamilton spring to mind. What gets to me is when players are not on form they are written off straight away....yet the likes of Naismith is being bummed up right now. Naismith took 4 years to get going and even last season he was hot for 2 months then faded a bit while Jelavic proved his quality throughout. Lets get off Jelavics back at the moment, he is the best striker in the SPL by a country mile hot or cold.
  8. Well Done Whyte. BBC are corrupt to the core and establishment fed from the very top. Biggest Manuipultive party in the country.
  9. Well there you go. Just put a coach up after the Hearts game and be very blunt.
  10. Alex Ferguson has ignored the BBC for years and only just started to talk to them again in the last few weeks. Id be doing something similar if there is a contract saying we must talk to them. Id send Durrant or McDowall to do all interviews and just do simple yes no answers or nod the head to every question.
  11. Id say we are as strong as we've been for a few years, I cant recall having 2 sets of XI who we could field in an SPL game and still be favourites with either side. Compare that to last season when there was a run of 4 or 5 games when we couldnt fill the bench and you have to say credit to McCoist for getting the squad up. We are still lacking a bit upfront though. But if Hemmings comes back and shows his promise it solves a few questions.
  12. Surprising! He is still a good age actually at 28 so hopefully he can get himself back to playing like was pre-injury which will be good for the national side.
  13. Welcome to the New World Order folks.
  14. Pretty sure it was Advocaat said that a number of players wouldnt feature in his plans after the summer and Gazza was one of them. Boro came in with an offer and he decided to take it although he regreted it and remember him saying he was in tears driving down the motorway and wanted to turn back. He could have stayed until the end of that season, Goram has said a few times that a half fit Gazza would have clinched 10IAR that season.
  15. This thread comes to haunt us.... I forgot Thompson even played for us, but he was decent at best. Flo's goal record was good, its just he was a different player to what he done at Chelsea probably due to the SPL style of play. At Chelsea he was very neat and skilful but had more time on the ball there. When signing a 12m player at the time we expected ability like a Laudrup
  16. Would have been happy with a mhanky draw before kick off but to see them come back from 3-0 down feels like they have won....still 3 points at Ibrox today and a 12 point gap is massive.
  17. I really need a read of their forum....where is Ian?
  18. I thought you were taking the piss....another beer for me
  19. Haha...Lennon....
  20. Brilliant....Im just pissed off I never backed something in Killie.
  21. Nice reading from Beeb:
  22. Killie v Celtic - 0-0 so far Liverpool v Man Utd 0-0 so far Man U start with a lot of changes, midfield of Jones, Fletcher and Park with Giggs and Young supporting Welbeck. Rooney on bench. Still think they wont lose.
  23. Always wanted McFadden at Ibrox in the past and would have part dreaded him going to Celtic about 4 years ago. But doesnt seem to have been the same player in the last 2 years so wouldnt be worried about Celtic signing him now.
  24. Gribz

    Chris Woods

Wasnt he back up to Schmichael for denmark? Still better than the shite Celtic have had....Rab Douglas was one of my favourite players
  25. ^ 100% in agreement with Craig there. Walter did a fantastic job and Id even go as far as saying McLeish's sucess reign was partially down to Walter. Burley was so bad that he is probably making Levein look good. Looking at the qualifying group for WC 2014, there is 3 teams that we should at least be on par with, there isnt any of the big boys so Id like the SFA to bite the bullet and bring in a better manager for that campaign. There is nothing to fear from Serbia, Croatia or Belgium.
