Green will do what is right. He will be legally advised. As I mentioned before he seems calm and does everything through the proper channels because he isnt acting with tinted specs on. Sometimes that can take time and people jump on a bandwagon that he isnt acting on the best of their side - i.e. we only need to look at Whittaker and Naismith....Mr Green didnt knock on their doors and gave them an explanation so they they took off. He has came in from the outside into a goldfish bowl of hatred at all sides and will act in the best interests of his investment. Im not so sure Regan should leave so soon, perhaps he should stick around and clean up the 'soon to be SPL mess' that he created!!

September 1st is fair if we are accepting the embargo. Its not something id be accepting but lets just get on with it. I didnt think there was a transfer window in the lower divisions and though they can sign players anytime in the season. If we keep Alexander, McCulloch, Broadfoot, Wallace and Bedoya and can add a few more experienced players then that should be enough to see us through 1 year. By that time we should be in a position were we are cruising Div 2 and looking towards Div 1 and thats when we can up our signings again.

1 down....how many to go?

Seems the TV Co's may fancy the fairytale story of Rangers going through the leagues. They must realise the massive following we have along with the interest of this season. Dundee Utd v Aberdeen cant be of interest compared to Queens Pk v Rangers at Hampden.

Glasgow Cup proposed as vehicle for Old Firm fixture
Gribz replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
That commentator Ian Crocker does my brain in with it. Every game whether its Motherwell v Rangers he will still say "and blah blah blah with one half of the old firm in town" -
I suppose one good thing about the stadiums in Divs 3-1 is that most of them will have terraces which makes for good atmospheres. With the Bears who attend games being on a mission to get behind the team its likely that away days might not be so bad!

Im taking a wild stab in the dark and saying I cant see it being on local telly for me. Goal TV is the channel that covers SPL games here, they take a feed from either Setanta Ireland with ESPN or SKY commentator, no chance of me seeing Gers on TV for quite some time!

Yep. You wonder if they are starting to feel embarrassed. Fans dont forget easily! I dont wish bad on their careers but I cant see any of them lifting a trophy again so easily and hope they arent given any warm welcome if they turn up at Ibrox again. I wonder who will be the first to publically say they were wrong leaving! Actually, seeing Whittaker become the new Titus Bramble and scoring 5 own goals a season will be good to see.

All the best to Edu, fantastic move for him if he's signed for Valencia, by far the most glamourous move from all the players who left. One of the most hot and cold players to play for Rangers, some games was really good but in others had a cardboard cut out effect. Never the less, in this situation he did the honest, loyal and dignifed thing and transferred his contract over and made a move to give us a fee...something that will always be remembered and he will be welcome back to Ibrox on any occasion. Got to give Green some credit, he has also kept his word to players like Edu, Goian and Bocangera by allowing them to leave for the small fee now that Div 3 is confirmed. Those who jumped ship showed their true colours. And not only that they were making a lot of noises about the owners (Green) at that time, yet Edu, Boca and Goian didnt seem to be lied to.

Did we have a subs bench though?? Im sure we did have a bench but I mean was anyone on it??

The experience of playing for a big club like Rangers would still apply. Some of the away games would be a bit of a shocker after training at the Emirates but if they played in the home games its still experience of running out in the big arena.

For fans in the north east (me previously) its 3 games nearby - Peterhead, Elgin and Montrose....although Peterhead is pretty rough and Id avoid that one. Those grounds will be filled as despite the hatred up their there still is a decent fan base.
-
I know! Not exactly the best reference in the world! But id take him back as a player right now if possible.
-
There is quite a big Rangers following around the Peterhead area. Pretty sure one of the buses I used to take started off at Peterhead on its way down.

Just accept the transfer embargo and let's get on with it FFS!
Gribz replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
Id only accept the embargo on the terms that they allow us to buy / loan a couple of players first to replace players who have left but before a certain date....this to purely allow us to have a sizeable squad to get through the season, then it can kick in from Aug 15 (for eg) for 1 season. -
I watched the interview on the website and was impressed with everything he had to say.
-
I see what you are saying but the newco hasnt any outstanding debts for any player. And even if a bit of understanding came in and said we are still Rangers then how can we compete with no squad? There has to be common sense saying - get a squad of 20-25 containing a minimum amount of younger players in place by a certain date then the transfer ban kicks in. This i could probably accept.
-
Why are we not fighting back a bit? The SFA havent even released our previous players for their new clubs, they should all be called back in for training! I think Green has been dignified up until now but if he accepts the transfer ban then that will change.

'b' is a good point which I made the other day. Huge chance for people to write themselves in as real hero's in their own way. I think Albertz and Mols is far fetched, they couldnt play a full season. No doubt they would be wonderful in the dressing room though and inspire the new team on and Im all for bringing them in on some role if they do it volunterarly. But Ferguson and Novo are very realistic seen as they are still playing at a higher level than we currently are. Pretty sure Novo might fancy. I still think we need to get some loan deals from Arsenal again.
-
Things have to come to a head now, if no decision is made on transfer embargo then Brechin could end up getting a bye and that will kick things off. Its gone beyond embarrassing that this has dragged onto the season. I honestly wouldnt be surprised if the SFA delay this so we play kids in the match and lose so it can be recorded in the record books.

I see what Calscot is getting at, its where does the line get drawn. If they attempted to strip our titles then does the co-efficent points for Scottish clubs in Europe and the national team become void and should the victories any of our clubs had be void??? If they give the runners up our titles from the years we wont it under Murray is it only going to benefit the team who actually finished 2nd....what about the rest of the league, wouldnt the 3rd placed team feel agrived for possible missing out on CL spot!!
-
Jog on Dunfermline. You finished bottom and Ross County replaced you, get over it. Its the ONE and ONLY (I sound like Chesney Hawkes) thing I agree with the SPL about is putting Dundee up. But then again the way Dundee Utd have been acting Dunfermline would be worse for them so who cares.
-
The transfer embargo hasnt been confirmed therefore I assume we can currently sign players, so Im not sure why we arent trying to pull out all the stops to get a few in before any decision is made. They couldnt penalise us when no sanction has been decided and we are a newco not in Administration

Healys no great loss, a more mobile loan deal from a big club in England would be better anyway. Edu hasnt made any statement has he? Wonder if Bartley would fancy another season.
