If we see the same German team from 2010 WC then I cant see anyone beating them, I thought they were the best side in South Africa. They battered England and Argentina. If Moeller wasnt suspended in the semi against Spain I think they'd have won. Portugal need Ronaldo to be on top form else cant see them getting much.

Looking forward to this starting next week. Fancy Germany to win it but Spain and Holland will be there also. Should be some cracking games in the group stages. Teams in bold to go through. Group A: Russia Czech Rep Poland Greece Group B: Holland Germany Portugal Denmark Group C: Spain Italy Rep Ireland Croatia Group D: England France Ukraine Sweden

Rodgers to Liverpool. Lambert to Villa. Norwich, Swansea, West Brom and Chelsea still to appoint now. Im surprised about the Rodgers move. I thought Liverpool would went for a big name like Deschamps, Guardiola or Van Gaal. Lambert has obviously been promised some money but Villa have been a selling club for a few seasons. He did wonders with Norwich and deserves a crack at a big club.

Considering the costs and only McGregor and Hutton are worthy then its been a complete waist of resources. Cant speak highly enough of McGregor and Hutton though, 2 absolute gems.

See how much's offered first! 150m fee plus 300k / week....id say he will go.

To put a new light on it.....RINO RINO RINO. I take it he could be lining up to bin Broon next season???

They are basing it on Rangers fans ticket sales alone. What revenue they get from away ticket sales probably doubles again as they will have a few thousand extra home fans who dont go week in week out who are attending purely because a Rangers game. Cant remember how much a ticket is, but lets be generous and say 20 quid. We take 4000 fans twice and that is 160k straight away. Going by approx attendances they probably get around 3500 part time supporters going in the home end for these games (x 2). If we generously average the ticket cost to 18 quid (OEP and kids) then thats another 126k. So that is roughly 286k before any programmes, food etc. Out of 16000 on match day say half the crowd spend a tenner then thats 80k x 2 = 160k. Away ticket Sales - 160k Additional home ticket sales - 126k Food, programmes etc - 160k Id say anything between 350k - 450k is about right.

Yeah I saw there was a good crowd but Id imagine a big number would have been Scots on holiday or expats. But considering the country itself has a population around 300 million its still way down the pecking order in sports.

Embarrassing! Levein must be a yes man to the SFA to be in that job. Gubbed 5-1 from a country who more than half the population probably havent even heard of the game 'soccer'. Just shows how far we're going backwards. Can you imagine a team from the 80s, 90s or early 00s losing like that!!! WS's side of a few years ago wouldnt have conceded 5. We are 100% wasting our time entering the WC qualifers with this time waster in charge. He has negativity and arrogance written all over him.
-
1-0 to the yankees. TBH I dont mind if The US won this about 5-0 to get rid of Levein. I want Scotland to do well and I see a great chance to qualify for WC 2014 but I have zero confidence in Levein getting us there. Aside from being a poor manager he is also an arrogant tit. He peaks at Dundee Utd in getting 3rd or 4th in one of the worst leagues in europe so I see no chance in qualifying. But if we get someone strong in like Walter, Strachan or George Graham I can see us winning the group or at least 2nd.

Why would you cancel bookings? You should be booking private caddys, professional lessons, champange breakfasts at the 19th hole, professional massages afterwards all on his bill -
Just looking at the 4 countries and there is no reason why Scottish national team shouldnt be on par with those yet we are light years behind them. Any of those teams would batter the other 10 SPL clubs. Good luck to Motherwell but they have no chance.

Champions League Final - Bayern Munich v Chelsea
Gribz replied to Gribz's topic in General Football Chat
Your right there Zappa. Redknapp will be gutted especially as he even admits he doesnt like the Europa Cup and its a hinderence. With Chelsea it wouldnt have been so bad if they won the CL when they were peaking under Mourinho etc but this team this season have been poor and not good to watch. Most of the credit has to go to Di Matteo, they were out of it after the first leg in Napoli but under him they turned it around. He really does deserve a get a crack at the job next season. I dont think we'll ever see a team get battered for 270 mins of football (2 x semi's v Barca and the final yesterday) yet win the biggest club prize in football. -
Champions League Final - Bayern Munich v Chelsea
Gribz replied to Gribz's topic in General Football Chat
Im gutted to see them win TBH. They are no where near the best team in Europe. Bayern blew it. Dominated the match for 90 mins.....Robben missed pen (although he didnt look like he'd score it). Dont know whats is worse, Man City winning the league or Chelsea winning the CL. -

Easy for Hearts...always going to be. Hibs are effing shite.

A fine post there Andy! Sadly I think there is bit too much fat cats and corruption involved in the game these days, combined with TV and money its a different game. That aside Ive just started a CL final thread in football chat section and I think we'll get a decent game tonight. I think this Bayern team are top notch and hope they win it. They are one of Europes finest clubs.

This is the main game for me today. Gutted I couldnt make the trip over to Wembley due to other commitments to see The Hammers at Wembley for the first time. Strangely Id rather be playing Blackpool than Birmingham but Blackpool are a bag or revels. They could win 6-3 out get pumped 5-0. Still, I fancy Allardyce will raly the troops and West Ham have the stronger side. 4-2 West Ham! Holloway is one guy I quite admire for his straight talk and if he loses this I can see him land the West Brom job. Come on you IRONS...

Like the Scottish cup I fancied Bayern around October to win the CL but I did back them, so well hoping Zee Germans win this. Id be wanting Munich to win anyway even if I didnt back them. Home advantage gives Munich a lift but puts bit more pressure on them. Cant see them slipping up though with the class they have. Robben, Muller, Ribery, Schweinstieger etc...all at their peak against an ageing Chelsea team. C'mon Zee Germans!
-
Should be a good day out for the fans today and as good as an atmosphere Hampden gets bar an OF game. Shame the teams on the pitch are well below average. I think Hearts could wrap this up early and win it about 3-0. Kinda hoping Hibs win though as I didnt back Hearts in November when I fancied them for the Cup. Crazy odds at the time as they had to go to St Mirren in a replay and winners faced Celtic. Think they were 16/1 at one point.

I thought Craig would be jetting in from Bermuda in his private jet .....with the possibility of a last minute bid

I'll settle for the SPL. Im hoping we dont take part in the cups.

Please don't buy into the Scottish Cup final protest nonsense.
Gribz replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
Yes agreed. It will only be portrayed as bad for the club. The media will love it and manipulate it against us to the highest heights possible.
