Fantastic draw - Id have preferred Liverpool at Ibrox first. If we can get something from the first two games then its game on v them. But its all about just being in the draw this season - its massive and was a must.

I dont rate any of the players you stated. Prior to injury Loftus was the next thing I've seen to Vieira. He is very under rated - a box to box player. Pulisic - my word - he is terrible. As I said - best manager in the league in Tuchel but he has been very much hampered. I think he will walk and it will be Chelsea's loss.

Hence my previous comment go for Leno at Arsenal. Yes its a long shot but its obvious he doesnt want to go to Fulham. Can we get Klos on the phone to him. That is a great shout. Other than that keepers are not propping out.

My jury is out on this tactic Bill, McGregor isnt going to adapt in his final year. I just dont think Mcloughin (sp) is good enough. We have had an immense run of goalkeepers through the last 3-4 decades and McGregor has been right up there. Gio is clever he will know exactly what he wants.

Goalkeeping - If McGregor is as fresh as ever then he starts hands down. A genuine world class shot stopper to this day. Alright he may not be this new play it from feet type but that is easily sorted if a defener takes the ball from him on a goal kick instantly. Personally - Id be using the Bassey money and going to Arsenal and paying the asking price of 10 million for Leno.

Very interesting read is this thread. Bluedell - I think they may have turned down the Furness for the pies. Some of them you couldnt even touch until about 71 minutes in the match. The old curry pies were dangerous and I still laugh at a poor chap in the Broomloan at a CL game when he toyed with his pie (that doesnt seem right) and then bit it as Buffel scored and he was in agony with curry pouring down his hands 😂 Obviously pleasing up to 50,000 mouths isnt going to be the easiest thing to do. The thing to do is keep it simple. For some burgers having lettuce etc and others being in a plain bun is comical. How come burger king can get it right with the 1000s they get every day - albeit prepared (probably with parts unknown) but they still deliver.

Very useful post especially when I'm doing mammoth catch up. I'd say we need to trim that down. Pre injury Katic and Helander were two defenders I really rated but perhaps its time for them to move on. Pity though as pre injury that would have been a solid partnership. Barisic seems to have had one bad OF game then become almost an enemy, which has probabl affected his confidence. On his game Id have him at LB straight away and he has a terrific delivery. In midfield I was baffled by the Arfield contract extension. In the 10 role - that is a tasty looking list. Upfront Middleton and Roofe can move on. I like the Colak signing, he was deadly for Malmo. All in all - Gio is obviously getting HIS squad in place and rightly so.

Hi Compo. Hope well. A tenner treble on the highlighted is worth a punt. I am not sure about each way bets on relegation or if you can get - I got 2 out of 3 last season (Burnley and Watford - I cant believe I tipped Norwich to stay up). I think we are in for a rollercoaster bizarre season especially with a World Cup half way through it. It will have an impact especially on the Christmas period. I fully expect City to win the league easily although not accumulating the same amount of points. Haaland is the best striker in the world and will wreck Aguero's record in around 4-5 years if stays fit. But I think the gap will be shorter...City and Liverpool will get low 90s points and high 80s pts resepctively with Arsenal and Spurs hitting high 70s. Until the transfer window shuts I cant comment on Chelsea and Man Utd.

Fantastic result. I thought a good game. Not many times Liverpool were actually matched man for man. The goal ruled out first half was more of a goal than the actual one. But delighted Madrid won. They turned up. Carlo - Arsenal madness not to get him.
