Ive always said he needs a stronger Assistant and we could see a much better Ally. But If we had just finished 2nd in the league 3 pts behind Celtic, not in Administration and were looking at a change of manager who is much better Id agree with you, but who on earth could possibly replace McCoist with a team thats about to be liquidated! Im baffled by your stance of not realising the situation.
-
I dont think he did brilliant or poor, just OK. He had an awful start but then a fantastic run between Octo and Christmas then the shit hit the fan. Yes he made some poor tactical decisions along the way. But he lost Lafferty, Naismith and Jelavic for half the season and couldnt replace them....how can you cover that! But your missing my point, I already said if a change of manager happens for a better replacement then so be it...(although Id keep Ally but bring in a Better No.2 than McDowall)....its the manner of the way he could quit is what Im getting at. I hate backstabbing especially to someone who doesnt deserve it.

The fixture lists come out on Monday. Some team is going to be looking at that thinking they have Rangers at home first game....only for it to be swapped for Dundee or Dunfermline if we drop out....I hope they enjoy their afternoon with 128 fans in the away end rather than 2000 - 4000.

I'll wait until I hear something official from Ally's camp. Id be STUNNED if this is true! Does the Green camp feel like they need another challenge or something!! On a footballing side of view Ally has done OK but hasnt been given a full season to prove himself without having hands tied. Off the field he has been the glue holding staff and players together and showing nothing but dignity.....no way would he deserve to be back stabbed....if its true (the plot against Ally) I cant see how Green can have the respect of any fan. Of course its his choice who he wants as manager but do it to Allys face FFS. Again, I'll wait until its official though.

BRIAN LAUDRUP - I Feel Like My Heart Has Been Torn Out
Gribz replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
This guy is a true Gent in every fashion, and he just happens to be our best player ever!! Some people on here was commenting about how Rangers men arent coming forward with cash, yet it takes a Foreigner the first to want to contribute something, whether Laudrup means be a fund or by coaching - regardless he wants to help! -
Now we'll get the reaction from chairmen and fans "Sky blackmailed us into keeping Rangers in the SPL....if it was our choice we'd have kicked you out". Sorry but I hope we apply to play in the SFL more and more now.
-
The SPL could be in for a shock, they had numerous chances to restructure the league and have a 16 team top flight which would be more competitive and even more so if we drop to Div 3. Ive said all along they will kick us as much as possible despite still trying to gain profits out of us, they will have the nerve to hit us with as much punishment and penalties as possible but keeping us in the SPL to save TV money. But id rather see us in Div 1 or 3 than in the SPL with a 20pt deduction and playing a youth team.

The England speculation ruined his momentum at Spurs, then not getting into the CL was a massive blow, unfair and unlucky IMO. But Redknapp has admitted he doesnt like the Europa Cup so I think that had a baring. Chelsea just appointed Di Matteo yesterday, wonder if Roman will do a U-turn and go for Harry instead. If Spurs go for home based manager can only see it being Moyes. But I think they will go for a big name European manager.

Tonight: Italy 2-1 Croatia Spain 4-0 Rep Ireland

Pete, you were absolutely spot on. Know idea how the Dutch can go from so good to so bad. The Germans are class though, they are playing in 2nd gear and still not looking like dropping points. The Dutch can still go through though, if they beat Portugal and Germany beat Denmark....but cant see it.
-
First day Ive had no predictions right. Tonight is tough!! Im going for Denmark 1-1 Portugal and Holland 2-2 Germany
-
History cant be wiped unless its erased from peoples memories. Third Larnark are still down in the history books as winning the league but they dont play now, but we know they won the league. The top flight has changed names a few times, in the 70s the first division was changed to the premier league then in 1998 the SPL was formed but in the history books the league winners were still the league winners. If Newco wins the league and it goes down as 1st title then the way I look at the old Rangers would be - if it was a race to 50 titles then we won!
-
Thats another 1 then. Someone mentioned 7 on another thread.
-
Agreed. And who puts a value on this? Ibrox has got to be worth more than 5m alone!
-
Wonder what would the opinions of the other 11 chairmen will be. Aberdeen - Fan power alone will tell the club vote against us. Celtic - Would they want the OF games to remain and need the Sky money? Or do they see themselves having auto CL entry. Against. Dundee Utd - Most 100% against in the league. Hearts - They are in a mess themselves. Even less income with us going out. I think they would vote FOR. Hibs - No clue but fan power again may push the club to Against. Inverness - Probably FOR. Kilmarnock - Chairman has spoken up for us. FOR. Motherwell - Considering they escaped the other year from Admin with no penalty, they might have a soft spot. Yet they could seem themselves as the nearest to Celtic in the league. - Tough call. Ross County - New boys would have been itching to play at Ibrox and have Rangers on their patch. FOR. St Johnstone - No idea St Mirren - No Idea
-
Got to think about the fact of being in the SPL with almost a youth team and a points deduction, we may even get relegated! In that scenario id rather start in Div 3 and work our way back. If they vote us in then they get more income from TV and our support for that season but overhauling a 25 point gap when all our top players have left would be a horrible situation. Teams and their so called fans would get kicks out of us facing relegation. If we could keep our best players Id bet on us staying up but we'd be around 7th or 8th. Its not only us who wont be playing European football, this has a massive knock on effect because we gain the majority of co-efficient points for SPL clubs. The SPL runners up and Cup winners would only see Europa league qualifiers and would need to play about 5 rounds to get near the group. Celtic who would likely win the league would probably have to play 2 qualifiers and could be unseeded and come up againt some tough teams and I dont see Mulgrew and Co getting past the likes of Arsenal, Inter or Marseille.
-
Pretty shocked TBH. What now on the footballing side of things? The other 11 have to vote to allow us to play in the SPL? What is the percentage needed for that?
-
I think the bit that pisses them off the most is we received 5.5m from Everton.
-
One thing is certain, neither England or France will win this tournament. Considering England had Chamberlain, Young, Gerrard, Milner and Welbeck they still defended with 2 banks of 4. France are trying to play like Spain but dont have near the same quality. They arent frightning at all. in Euro 04 and WC 06 they had Thuram, Vieria, Zidane, Henry, Anelka, Treziguet....all monsters above 6 feet, but they could all play. Wouldnt be surprised if Ukraine and Sweden went through from this group.
-
The daily double is 2 draws.
-
Ive a sneaky feeling on Italy to at least get a draw. 4 times World Champs....they will be well up for this. A not bad treble is a Spanish Treble....Nadal in the tennis, Spain to beat Italy and Alonso in the GP.

Oi!! Im on pedantic duty in this thread

I see what your saying. He does come across as a genuine type but at the same time Im not buying him on face. He's in a no win and no lose situation at the moment. Decisions are out of his hands and the fans have their opinions. If he takes over we wont be blindly guided, we've learned our lessons from Murray. There is people who you can distrust instantly, Whyte seemed to be one. Green doesnt strike me as that type. There is a lot of naive fans who will only like someone if they come in with Man City money so all debt is wiped and we're signing players tomorrow. Those fans have to realise we arent going to get that investment and the situation is sticky. I havent posted much on the Administration issue since February, Ive just been monitoring and reading so many multiple issues and opinions with nothing being resolved. Hopefully this Thursday brings out some answers one way or another.
-
I kinda do trust Green but at the same time I think he see's a few quid in this for himself as much as he is trying to save Rangers. Green seems to be more open and talks more, he may not have all answers but nobody does at the moment and until after the 14th and what 'punishments' are handed out nobody will. I like the fact he is more prepared to answer a question and make a statement....comparing that to Whyte who never made an appearence at the club because he was too busy munching lobster in Monaco! The fans have had a lot of betrayal from Murray and Whyte plus a few others so its right that everyone is going to be in a skeptical frame of mind. But if nobody attempts to get us out of it then we wont exist as a club. One thing I think is Green certainly isnt out to sabbotage the club. I genuniely believe he will try to get us out of Administration but thats out of his hands.
