Barrie McKay isnt old enough to drink! Then you'd need to have it in a remote location where neds couldnt bump into the team and there was no game for at least 3 days. I think the likes of Durrant would be more up for that! But thats what man management is all about, find an activity that interests the team and get them together...whether it be fishing, Karting, cricket or hand gliding.....just get the ice broken and have the guys familiar with each other and knowing one another.

If we havent won this league by March its a massive problem! The fans have known this all season and have been shouting out that we should be attacking every team infront of us. No no no!!! Please no! A wee bit of overtime never hurt anyone. Get them together on the training ground more! Find out if they like FIFA on the xbox in the afternoons or something that allows them to spend time together so they know each other more and start to communicate easier......i.e. team bonding! Then we might see progress on the park.

***2012-13 Barclays Premier League***
Gribz replied to simplythebest's topic in General Football Chat
QPR and Reading will go down with Southampton. Wigan and Norwich are capable of getting points when it matters. Stoke Villa and Sunderland are struggling aswell but will have enough to pull away from the bottom 3. Vintage weekend for Man Utd. They write off Arsenals title hopes. Man City and Chelsea were held. Everton should have picked up 3 points with 26 attempts v Fulham but its games like that which makes the difference between the title contenders and CL contenders. And Spurs beaten at home by Wigan. In the space of a week they have overhauled Chelsea 4 point lead. Man U are starting to click after a poor start and with Young, Valencia, Rooney, Van Persie and Hernandez all on form they could start to pull away as the others are capable of dropping points easily. -
Awful game. Arsenal again shocking at the back. Santos isnt a defender. Wenger also got it wrong playing Ramsay on the right, should have started with Walcott or Arshavin there and kept Ramsay on the bench to replace Wilshire after an hour.

Scotish Cup 4th Round draw - Monday 2.30pm live on SSN
Gribz replied to simplythebest's topic in Rangers Chat
I just want to avoid Pittodrie and Tannadice like the plague! I would fancy our chances of beating them but dont want to give there so called fans the satisfaction of playing us on their patch. Those 2 are desperate for us at home. -
Scotish Cup 4th Round draw - Monday 2.30pm live on SSN
Gribz replied to simplythebest's topic in Rangers Chat
Obviously the wish list is 1) Home tie 2) No SPL team No necessarily in that order. -
So sweet when it happens to them. 1-1 last min would have been nice but 2-2 with 89 and 90 minute goals makes it sweeter.

Thats Holloway out for forseeable future, he's joined Palace today. He'd have been one of my favourites for the job IF obviously things dont work out for Ally.

Is Ally the Man for the job? - The McCoist Thread
Gribz replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
Its been a great debate in this thread both ways. My main irk about the management team in general is not having a stronger No.2. While McCoist is taking a lot of flak and rightly so with the sheer lack of not making changes at all I dont see Durrant and McDowall doing much apart from Durrant chewing his gum and McDowall drawing pony's on a clipboard. I feel those 2 are escaping a bit much of the flak. Ally might be able to rally the troops and keep morale good in training but a tactician and good coach on your team is then equally important and thats always what McCoist has had missing. -
Tip top game in prospect. Both sides scoring and conceding for fun. Arsenal still look weak and clumbsy at the back and havent found the right formula upfront yet. Wilshire back will be a boost long term if he is the same player but its Diaby they miss from the opening few games. Him and Arteta were running the show then Diaby got croaked again. I dont rate Ramsey. Utds defence is poor also and they also dont have a good keeper. What did Ferguson see in De Gea? If Arsenal defend well I think they could win 2-1 as Wilshire, Cazorla and Arteta could run the game with Walcott and Podolski creating upfront. If they defend poor again then Man Ud could win about 4-1.

Ally McCoist set to unleash fit-again Rangers star David Templeton
Gribz replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Great to get Templeton back but we should have enough without him for Alloa! If he isnt 100% fit then give him an hour or the last 30 mins, if he is rushed and has a set back it does us no favours at all as we are still a long way before being able to sign players, therefore we need everyone 100%. -
Just avoid cup games from now on until we get it in writing that things are settled. If we go to a semi at Hampden those thieves wouldnt pay us what we are owed. Between them and the SPL they are moving cash around thats not theirs
-
Neither was Walters record down south TBH. When managers are pricks infront of cameras you cant take this as face value to what they are like. Wenger and Moyes are both different in front of cameras as to what they are like face to face. There managers like Mick McCarthy who is the what you see is what you get type. Not really sure Strachan was tainted, he never had an Old Firm connection prior to going to Celtic so isnt a Celtic man as such.
-
Im trying to stick to guys with no Rangers links. Another Id throw in the hat would be Alan Curbishley. I wonder if Strachan could become the first manager to ever manage both Rangers and Celtic. All the Celtic stuff aside, how many would take him right now rather than McCoist?
-
That ended when Naismith, Whittaker, Lafferty and others jumped ship. They are not welcome to be called a Ranger IMO. 3 players who we stood by for varies reasons not only walked away but embarrassed themselves and the club because their new boss didnt knock on their door and explain things to them.
-
There is a wish list and a realistic wish list due to being in Div 3. It would need someone who fancies this project of getting us back to where we belong. Ian Holloway is a good shout. I wouldnt mind Kevin Keegan with Ray Wilkins as assistant. But Id be happy to get the likes of Numan and Laudrup on the coaching staff. Derek McInnes hasnt learned his trade yet, Bristol Tities have dropped to 4th bottom of the Championship. But someone who knows the basics and knows when to make a change would suit me for starters.

Stoke are right up his street, ugly football.
-
Absolute nonsense. What exactly do we need to learn other than he is rank and out of his depth. Its classic SFA biding their time, letting dust settle then saying he remains on for 2 reasons, a) they cant see how bad he is and b) they cant afford to sack him. Its obvious he is staying on for time being if he is getting to name a squad. In the past a Luxembourg game would be a 5-0 win, I expect a 0-0 draw this time.
-
Fook me they are throwing up some good games. 5-4 Chelski. Yet it should have been 3-2 Utd again. Ferguson blaming Nani for giving the ball away at 3-2 which resulted in Chelsea getting a pen. Could be set for Arsenal v Chelsea final if they avoid each other in the semi's. Cant see anyone else in the quarters good enough.

Updated! And once again we smash the others on crowds away! The fans really deserve a bit better.

Is Ally the Man for the job? - The McCoist Thread
Gribz replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
As for Ally, serious questions now have to be asked. The team isnt doing the basics right and showing no signs of improvment. With a new team and new players you expect to see progress and then you can give someone more time, perhaps like what Liverpool fans are seeing at the moment. At least you can see Rodgers is trying to get his ideas and style across. With Rangers its back to looking like we draw the numbers out of a hat 5 mins before kick off and thats the team. Billy Davies is the obvious choice or someone like Kevin Keegan who spends time in Glasgow with his soccer school. I know a lot jumped on the Jimmy Calderwood idea but he can organise things and knows the basics. in Div 3 he would be a good appointment to move us up the leagues. -

What garbage. Do Andy Murray or Rafa Nadal or Djokovic get knackered during 5 hour Tennis grand slam finals? This after playing maybe 4 hour semi final matches just 2 days before and about 5 matches during the 2 week tournament? Then they go onto the next tournament plus travelling around the world. Learning simple ball control and tactics involves watching and listening which doesnt use any physical strength at all. As Gav says if its done right then it would work. -
While McCoist seemed to be the glue that held things together at one stage off the park I always got the impression McCulloch was the one in the dressing room doing the same. Like said he didnt jump ship although he is 33 / 34 but I still feel he'd have stayed even if he was 28. Isnt there a difference between club captain and team captain? Pretty sure there has been occassions when teams have had a club captain who wasnt a regular in the team maybe due to injuries and age and a team captain then takes over. Id say LM is a club captain but on the pitch id make Alexander the team captain, although there is nothing wrong with both of them playing the role regardless who wears the armband. A 2 year deal seems about right although I think ageing players should be on 1 year rolling deals, but he has a great attitude and is likely to remain in shape which means he could stroll the next 2 years as a striker. 14 goals in 16 games says it all....he was signed as a striker and now we're getting the rewards, he almost ruined himself playing in midfield and defence.
