  1. RE TBB I cant see why anyone / group cant go into Ibrox and start singing it with a few words changed. What exactly is banned about it? It is the tune? Because they cant a tune at Ibrox and not ban it anywhere else. Its sang at Tannadice, Tynecastle, Old Trafford...... If neeps use the F word in it then rightly so they can be removed but singing that song changing the 1 or 2 words cant be deemed illegal.
  2. Social problem again. Mind you Arbroath is a pretty rough town.
  3. For spells during a game yes I agree, for the odd match yes I agree. Every week - dont agree. And when I hear they spend minimal time on a training ground I disagree further. Like you said I was happy with the players and overall squad, once its gelled and settled it should breeze the league with the odd slip up always a given. Ive only seen 2 or 3 games on the internet but maybe those who have seen most games can tell me - has there even been a bit of improvement since the opening few games on the park?
  4. I like almost everything Green says but this is the first statement to concern me - If we go another 3 away games without winning then he has to look at it. At the start of the season I said wait until 8 games have gone, now thats 8 games and we are top of the league albeit on goal difference. But form has been patchy. The excuse of a new side being molded together will soon go out the window, they have been together a few months now and should be playing like a team. But spending only 75 mins at training every day is a disgrace, that should be 6 hours for the first few weeks until thet get to know each other. I hope Greens statement isnt the same about Durrant and Mcdowall, IMO they are still part of the problem and for the 1000th time Ally needs a better No.2
  5. Nice team to win our first away game of the season against.
  6. On the other hand, considering this is a long term thing is it not better to get off to a good start and have the team sitting top of the leage with a good blend of experience and youth and bring the younger ones in gradually over the season, so by maybe half way through next season we are starting to see the development taking shape. There would be no guarantee the youngsters would get us promoted straight away. There is no guarantee the current side will but id say it is far more likely.
  7. Just about to say these exact words and add thats its even more wrong with Dundee Utd sitting 2nd bottom 3 points behind Hearts. How bad can the SPL get?
  8. I watched it quite a few times and thought when you see it closer its a bit of a sore slap and Kirkland probably got hurt jarring his neck back or something. Warnock has always been a tosser but his interview after the game made me dislike him even more. He had to come back out Saturday morning and back track his comments. At the start of the season I thought it would be good to get a big club like Leeds back in the Premier League but with fans like this and Warnock at the club they can go back down to League one.
  9. 4 month jail term and 5 year football ban for the hooligan. You wonder what happens mentally to make these people like this. There is a picture of him as 12 or 13 year old boy with his Leeds kit and having a photo with Robbie Keane before a match. 8 years later he's facing a 3rd footballing ban and more jail time. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-20025830
  10. There lies a massive problem on its own. To go to your place of employment for up to 90mins per day when you get thousands per week shows where football has went mad. No wonder its only the winners like Gascoigne, Ronaldo and Beckham that you hear stories like being the first on and last off training grounds and putting in extra hours practising free kicks etc. They should be spending minimum 6 hours at training which should vary in fitness, ball control, tactics, set pieces etc plus each groups doing their own work I.e. Strikers - finishing, defenders - tackling / winning balls. There should be none of this Barry Ferguson mentality who didnt like anything other than a few hours.
  11. This isnt the point. The point is they didnt walk away meaning we'd get nothing for them. They were told they would be allowed to move on. And Goian and Boca are only out on loan and might end up in a Blue jersey again next season.
  12. Paragraphs 2,3 and 4 are spot on IMO.
  13. The only thing Im missing from this thread is when are they actually coming to play at Ibrox? Unless we get them in a cup at home then they wont be visiting Ibrox for a few years anyway. As Pete says Cup matches have a percentage that away fans must get, this varies depending on stadium capacity IIRC. But not only is it good not to see Celtic back, not having the likes of Aberdeen, Hibs or Dundee Utd back in is just as great. Like you Ian, Ive never been to Paradise (haha thats still the funniest name for it yet). Only time I went in the away end v Celtic was the season they played at Hampden in 94-95 when we stuffed them 3-1 with Laudrup and Hateley giving them a proper hiding.
  14. 49000+ is pretty much a full house and what we would get for a OF derby due to a few empty seats between the supporters. And thats 45000+ in ALL of our league matches so far....how anyone could put a negative spin on that is mind boggling. I understand it might not be the best football on view but in a few years we will look back at that crowds with amazement. I always applauded Man City fans when they dropped to the 3rd tier in England about 10 years ago for getting 30000 at Maine Road but to throw another 15-20 thousand on top of that for a 4th tier match in Scotland blows it away. And as Pete says for the Queens Park match at Hampden they surely have to at least open up the west and north stands and give Bears the traditional Rangers end. Pretty sure they wont be renovating Hampden for the games until late next year.
  15. It doesnt matter if Wallace, Goian, Edu and Boca didnt find a better deal at the time, they still did the decent thing and transferred their contract over. They are international players who rightly so should take their best interests into consideration and they trusted CG to move to newco on the basis they would get a move if the right one came up. Unlike others who couldnt accept the word of their new boss and felt they were bigger than any club and couldnt even give us a small transfer fee for all the club had done for them during long term injuries (Naismith) and stupid behaviour (Lafferty).
  16. I think what we need is a strong SFL. The SPL can fiddle about with any voting structure they want but with the cash flow dropping rapidly there they will need restructure to the leagues and thats when the SFL hold stronger cards. Anything that hits Rangers and Celtic will eventually make both clubs pushing for some sort of Atlantic league again. The regular run of the mill SPL clubs are just digging their own graves at the moment.
  17. 13 goals before the end of October. And how long was he wasted in midfield and defence. LM has always been a striker and should have always been played there.
  18. Whatever he wears during the match makes him no more or no less responsible for his job. I think its actually quite refreshing seeing managers wear the tracksuit at times. As long as he turned up at the start of the day with a suit on (which I assume he did) then put it back on after the match.

    Union Bears

Agree with Pete and Edge. What is the point of singing about other things that have got nothing to do with supporting Rangers. Would they walk down the street and sing these things? There has always been a number in our support who just follow the next guy and dont actually look / believe in the substance in what they are singing, they just want to fit in. If the chant was 'my granny is a slag' some of them would still sing along. I was like this in the 90s when growing up, I thought singing about 1690 was part of Rangers but when you become aware you realise half the songs sang have nothing to do with the football team.
  20. I dont have a problem with that during the game. The suit and tie is more for before and after.
  21. FFS. 4/5 and 3/4 again. Liverpool 1-0 Man Utd 4-2 West Ham 4-1 Hull 2-1 Palace 2-2 with Millwall Fulham 1-0 Swansea 2-1 Swindon 1-1 Gillingham 4-1
  22. Cheers. I'll get you a season ticket next season if circumstances are still the same. Not paying your flights from strathaven though. And you are on the same page as me that Super Ally shouldnt be..blah blah... I'll give you the unofficial award for being best newcomer to this site..... Andy Townsend and Ray Wilkins on the Premier league show now...get the baldy one at Ibrox now in a swap with our baldy one.
  23. Yes sir.....Draw for me ay white hart lane
  24. Holy shit....I was absolutely plastered earlier when I posted this. Totally forgot about it.....
  25. Hi Lads, just a brief one to say that yes there is a massive support from afar. I know there is now quite a few on here who post from all corners of the globle but multi regulars like Craig, Pete, Dan and Bears spring to mind. I get the impression that people think us from afar dont see and give as much as those nearby. I just want to say that cant be further from thruth. This year I was having thoughts about losing a massive thing that has brought so much to my life. Rangers almost dissapeard! My first Rangers game at at Ibrox was in 1989 when my dad took me to a 1-0 opening defeat by St Mirren. I then moved in Englerland and was then back north of the border by 1994. By then I was 15 and regularly taking the train down from Aberdeen to witness the best Rangers ever seen! Laudrup, Gascoigne and Albertz on the naked eye! For me those 3 stand out and always will as the absolute best! 5 years on I got my first season ticket. It was in the Club Deck and despite the back reviews I'll never regret it and would happily go back there if the day comes I live in UK again. That year I was blasted by joy - Advocaats team was on fire and Michael Mols was making Laudrup feel like a memory. It was an absolute joy to see that Rangers team.....they were without any shadow of doubt on par with Europes finest. Work gave me the gift of traveling to some far out places and it meant I didnt continue my season ticket...and then I felt myself living at the ither side of the globe. However this made me feel a bigger Rangers fan because I was continuously asked who I supported.....it eventually died off or perhaps I got used to it.... We can debate 2009-2011 all we like but 2012 hit us and Rangers was a risk....the establishment, team and life that I followed since I was a boy...I have beer mats off this team, 20 strips in the loft......how can that just go Charles Green came to town and I felt good about him when many Bears didnt.....a few players made statements and instantly I knew - twats! Ally McCoist did wonders as an ambassador and got Rangers throught that time. But is he the man on the park??? But My Rangers were in Div 3 and needed every support they get....Obviously how do fans abroad do this....they rely on the average Govan Allan to do it for them. Not me! Rangers gave me immense everything in the 90s....so I had to give it back. Two good Rangers fan now share a ST at Ibrox as part of my pocket......they will be part of the revolution....... WATP :drink:
