Absolute nonsense. What exactly do we need to learn other than he is rank and out of his depth. Its classic SFA biding their time, letting dust settle then saying he remains on for 2 reasons, a) they cant see how bad he is and b) they cant afford to sack him. Its obvious he is staying on for time being if he is getting to name a squad. In the past a Luxembourg game would be a 5-0 win, I expect a 0-0 draw this time.

Fook me they are throwing up some good games. 5-4 Chelski. Yet it should have been 3-2 Utd again. Ferguson blaming Nani for giving the ball away at 3-2 which resulted in Chelsea getting a pen. Could be set for Arsenal v Chelsea final if they avoid each other in the semi's. Cant see anyone else in the quarters good enough.

Updated! And once again we smash the others on crowds away! The fans really deserve a bit better.

Is Ally the Man for the job? - The McCoist Thread
Gribz replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
As for Ally, serious questions now have to be asked. The team isnt doing the basics right and showing no signs of improvment. With a new team and new players you expect to see progress and then you can give someone more time, perhaps like what Liverpool fans are seeing at the moment. At least you can see Rodgers is trying to get his ideas and style across. With Rangers its back to looking like we draw the numbers out of a hat 5 mins before kick off and thats the team. Billy Davies is the obvious choice or someone like Kevin Keegan who spends time in Glasgow with his soccer school. I know a lot jumped on the Jimmy Calderwood idea but he can organise things and knows the basics. in Div 3 he would be a good appointment to move us up the leagues. -
Is Ally the Man for the job? - The McCoist Thread
Gribz replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
What garbage. Do Andy Murray or Rafa Nadal or Djokovic get knackered during 5 hour Tennis grand slam finals? This after playing maybe 4 hour semi final matches just 2 days before and about 5 matches during the 2 week tournament? Then they go onto the next tournament plus travelling around the world. Learning simple ball control and tactics involves watching and listening which doesnt use any physical strength at all. As Gav says if its done right then it would work. -
While McCoist seemed to be the glue that held things together at one stage off the park I always got the impression McCulloch was the one in the dressing room doing the same. Like said he didnt jump ship although he is 33 / 34 but I still feel he'd have stayed even if he was 28. Isnt there a difference between club captain and team captain? Pretty sure there has been occassions when teams have had a club captain who wasnt a regular in the team maybe due to injuries and age and a team captain then takes over. Id say LM is a club captain but on the pitch id make Alexander the team captain, although there is nothing wrong with both of them playing the role regardless who wears the armband. A 2 year deal seems about right although I think ageing players should be on 1 year rolling deals, but he has a great attitude and is likely to remain in shape which means he could stroll the next 2 years as a striker. 14 goals in 16 games says it all....he was signed as a striker and now we're getting the rewards, he almost ruined himself playing in midfield and defence.

He obviously just feels more comfortabl wearing a tracksuit, I can understand that. I am not particularly comfortable with shirt and tie when I wear it and always cant wait to get back into casual clothing. I was the same at school, uncomfy shoes and a shirt and tie used to bug me.

Nothing wrong with that at all.

Anyone know how many tickets sold for tonights game? If we get around 28000 then it will end up bigger crowd than the other 3 quarter finals put together which included a Celtic home game. Cant see there being more than 6000 at Tannadice. Midweek Cup games: Celtic v St Johnstone - 14,399 Aberdeen v St Mirren - 7,610 Dundee Utd v Hearts - TBC Rangers v Caley - TBC

att: 14,399

Brown knows nothing but he is entitled to his opinion. But perhaps the players signed are used to a higher level / standard of football and might flouish in the SPL. Its also a new team still gelling and we didnt have a pre season to have a run of friendlies either, we were always going to take the first 6 games to get up and running. However now more than 6 games (not just league games) have past we should now start to see this team coming together. There has been huge debate over Ally but now we are practically in Nov he should start to be judged. Regardless, the division has still been quite refreshing and I dont know about anyone else but I havent missed playing any of the SPL teams at all. In fact the complete opposite. Even the cup games (Motherwell and Caley) werent appealing. Just the results to put one over them is!

What a score! Few Arsenal fans left at 4-0, must be regretting that now. Arsenal still showing how bad their defence is even if there was a few changes. Think they needed to get that out their system of conceding a few before Saturdays Man Utd game. But now they also put 7 away they could do that again to a few more teams.

Everton have been one of the better teams to watch in the last 2 years for me.

Cheers. I was away to ask what show was he on. I listen to Keyes and Gray podcast the next morning when get into work. Looking forward to it this morning.

For me the suit should be for the office. He should turn up on match day and walk of the bus with the shirt and tie then then wear what ever he wants during the game. I cant believe its a debate. His job is to get results, not be pleasing on the eye.
-
Its strange how all this abuse and racist stuff being thrown in the faces right now though! Its been barely heard of, then the Evra / Suarez and Ferdinand / Terry cases have just kicked it off hugely. You'd think it would go away but seems its a major issue in the game. For me I just cant understand it. Clattenburg would be insane to call a player anything racist. However if it was a simple 'get the fuck on with the game' or something like that then it shouldnt be a issue. Players spout vulgar abuse non stop to refs.

Great win for Utd, their first at SB for 10 years. Just realised these 2 play each again in the league cup this week. Then Utd have Arsenal at the weekend, massive week for them.
-
He's just stirring things up before the cup game this midweek. Offer him Coistys job he'd jump at it. If he was so good Ipswich would be knocking on the door right now.

Celtic 0-2 Kilmarnock

If he carrys on what he has been doing so far then Id welcome CG at the club as long as he wants! Be delighted to see him sitting in the CE seat when we next hear the CL music at Ibrox. And be delighted to see him do a lap of honour with the top flight title in a few years - whatever it will be called by then. A few years is nothing, it will fly by.

No quick way back to top flight for Rangers, says United chairman
Gribz replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
After reading the first sentence of the OP my words were 'thank goodness'. The SPL chairmen and none more so than Thompson are so unprofessional and sneaky Ive went from the mindset 'not interested in anything they do' to 'if they go under they can only blame themselves and I might have a wry smile'. I can really see 2 or 3 SPL clubs going towards bust and the restructure will be forced through on that basis - so obviously dirty! Then the SFL really need to stand up and take a grip of the situation and not bow down. As someone mention is there going to be a 5 team SPL league? Its so obvious the SPL clubs thought the can live without us when they cant. Why do we constantly have to enter their thoughts? They all wanted to draw us in the cup competitions. Im delighted we got the home tie and its Inverness who we play in the League cup quarters. If we get past that then at least we dont have to make the journey to any of their grounds in the semi's -
Big boost! Of all the signings id say Templeton could become the best and has the ability to become a top Ranger.
-
We should be going into every game 4-3-3 in this division playing a good brand of football which sets the tone for the next 5 years. I could even accept the odd set back and poor result if something good came out at the end of it.
-
There is 100s of potential lines. 'We're up to our knees in Celtic shite' If groups like TBO, VB etc want to do something really good to avoid another 41 pages on the other thread then get together and come up with a good version of this and start singing it. Make a statement before hand to whoever (The club, police etc) that this song is returning with suitable words. There is no doubt about it, this song got the whole stadium up and singing I get the impression people would only need to say the 2 words Hullo Hullo and they could be hauled away from their seat deemed a racist bigot.

Id prefer non Rangers posts to be in football chat.
