16000, Pittodrie's biggest crowd of the season. If Levein was still in charge I really doubt Scotland would have won that match. Well done Chesney, good start.

Billy Davies on his way back to Forest by the looks of things. He's a man I think who has a very realistic chance of taking over from McCoist whenever AM moves on but like you not my top choice.

1. Scotland v Switzerland Euro 96 screamer followed closely by 2. Leeds away followed closely by 3. The over head against Hibs in the league cup final in 1993. This one was magic as it was his first game back from the broken leg he got against Portugal in the summer. He'd only been on the pitch about 5 mins.

How feesible is applying for a move to the Blue Square Premier League? If the SPL and Co go ahead with the no change 12 team set up will he still reject joining the SPL?

Ive never bought this one where we cant support Scotland as Celtic players are in the team, that for me is lowering to the levels of other fans who boo Rangers players. However in the case of Liewell being bum chums with Regan I can see your point. In the 90s the Scotland team could have almost be full of Rangers players, Goram, Gough, Robertson, McCall, Ferguson, Durie, McCoist, Dodds...I think Craig Broon used to add the others in just to satisfy fans as he always picked shite like Scott Booth, Darren Jackson, Billy McKinlay etc

Shocking time of year to be playing internationals as the business end of the season approaches with Champions League knock out stages. Its not a match I'll be tuning into but I do wish Wee Gogs all the best and hope to see a much improved side from what Levein did.

No thanks to big Eck, another terrific player in his day though to show Im not anti Eck. I cant split McLeish and McCoist for tactical unawareness, baffling decision making, playing players out of position and not having a stronger assistant. McLeish has seen some success with Birmingham and did manage Scotland to a win in France but no thanks to coming back to Rangers.

There is no question about everyones effection for Ally when looking at him as a player, Ive countless top memories. One that sticks out is his 300th goal for the club which me and 3 school mates earned a detention for skipping classes. It was against Aberdeen on a Friday night league match in November 1994, it had been moved to the Friday as the stadium needed prepared the following day so Raith could beat Celtic in the League Cup final on the Sunday. We needed the afternoon off to get to the game on time. It was the only goal in the 1-0 win.

SPL clubs give 'unanimous backing' to proposed reforms
Gribz replied to simplythebest's topic in Rangers Chat
Stopped reading after these paragraphs. This guy becomes a bigger tit by the day. This statement should be framed and put on the walls of Hampden so in a few years time he can be reminded. How on earth can he JUDGE that no other plan has a chance of success but a system that has failed in 2 countries will be a success. -
Nottingham Forest name Alex McLeish as new manager
Gribz replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
This could revive Forests season and still give them a chance at the play offs. Maybe the owners realised the error and pulled out on the signing last week, ok that would be dirty tactics but if they sacked him after 7 games they'd have had to pay him. Ive said a few times, he'll be the next Aberdeen manager. -
No probs sir, I got the pedantic bug from a few posters on here But I remember the game well, watching it with a big group of mates and even 1 or 2 of them applauded saying that was unbeliveable. Debate on BBC now about the best ever England player, Gazza mentioned a few times. He is up there with Charlton and Moore for me, for ability alone he wins, he just didnt play enough games. 57 caps should have been 87. If they had him around 92-94 and playing like he did at WC 90 and Euro 96 then it wouldnt be a debate who was the best.
-
Sorry to be pedantic but Hendry wasnt a team mate at the time, he was still at Blackburn. Hendry didnt join until Advocaat came in 98 But I agree, awesome goal, one of the best.

This is what happens when you cross the power that be...Weapons inspector David Kelly, former MP Robin Cook.

Why shouldn't it be 55 and counting when Gers win the Div.3 title?
Gribz replied to a topic in Rangers Chat
In theory it is a 55th title but in reality it is SFL Div 3 title no.1 The reason it wont be No.55 is because the previous 54 have made us Scottish Champions, top of the ladder out of all 38 or 40 or 42 teams. This one makes us the champions of 10 team Div 3 only, and there is another 3 titles being won in the other leagues also. Celtic can win the next few titles and catch us up but our percentage will always better than there's at least until we are back in the top flight for a few seasons. IF it was a race to 50 then we won and some more. -
That was going to be my comment also, that was a shocking pitch yet they still managed to look as if they were playing on a bowling green. Its sad to say but I think Gazza is beyond help. He's been on the TV in the last year or 2 saying he is clean but Ive never been convinced. I hope Im wrong and someone / something can get through to him then he can help himself. I think its a disgrace the way people use him like this first clip. And there isnt enough help from him in the game itself, everyone always seems to just talk about what he did when he was at the top to get goo viewing, Schmeichels comments are right. Absolute genius, we are all brought up in generations where we watch players and i wouldnt swap Gazza and Laudrup for any other. The fact he has went straight to the clinic in the states could be his last saving grace....make it work Paul!

Dundee derby in Scottish Cup quarter-final draw
Gribz replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
Yeah now we know why Thompson said things werent bad financially, home to Rangers and managing a full house despite Rangers refusing 4000 tickets then a Dundee Derby. Smells like fash! -
We need a leader. Whether that is a defender, midfielder or a striker there was nobody yesterday who looked like they could stand up and be counted and rally his team mates.
-
Then that would be bad management. The climate is something that the player should been aware of when signing. If he is under contract and being paid then he gets a boot up the ass if he has a bad attitude.
-
Incompetent springs to mind. Whats with chasing these Aussie players (Stella and McKay) then not even giving them a chance before punting them away.

Is Ally the Man for the job? - The McCoist Thread
Gribz replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
Spot on Dan. Its not about going out to a SPL side in the cup, its the lack of improvement on the park against Div 3 sides in general. Ive always said a 1 off bad day at the office is allowed but we get too many in between a 6-2 against some part timers and everything is rosey when we bag 5 or 6 goals. I like what Billy Davies has done at all his clubs in England. A lot of people praised Nigel Atkins for what he did at Southampton and thought the sacking was mad, it was the same as Davies at Derby. He took them from the bottom of the championship and promoted...he probably got them promoted too soon / early and wasnt prepared for the Premier league and as such Chairmen then overlook what the manager has done. He would certainly be a contender for me but not my first choice. Yet its not a debate at the moment as we still have McCoist at the helm. -
Is that minus's??? Alexander is an international goalkeeper and should be communicating better. 3's are generous for me
-
The counter to that is we saw the same dross when he inherited WS's squad full of internationals.

9/1 to win at Everton today. Had to have a bit of that and they are up 2-1.
