  1. 2 horse race for the title now between the Manchester Clubs. I did the Premier league predictor in Oct and predicted Chelsea would be 10 points behind Utd by end of Nov, had Utd won at Norwich this would have been the case. Arsenal are gone and could end up having their worst season since Wenger took over. Everton looked a match for anyone until the lost 1 or 2 to injury and were always going to drop points then. 3rd and 4th place are up for grabs to the most consistant team. Would be refreshing to see Everton and West Brom have a real go and make it.
  2. The Europa cup is so de-valued until the final they have to do something. It should be a reduction of CL teams and put some higher profile teams back in the Europa. More knock out games need to be played....and the Cup winners cup could be brought back. This will make matches far more interesting. But the money makers will never go for that, pound in the pocket before the interests of the game.
  3. Platini and his corrupt cronnies giving it some thought. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20523405 This would have been on the agenda years ago to globalise the game. First get rid of the Cup winners cup and bring in more teams to the CL to de-value the UEFA cup which includes CL drop outs....then scrap the latter and have a massive Euro comp. The Euro game was ruined by the fat money cats bringing in more CL clubs. Even just 10 years ago a UEFA cup run was something to look forward to and one the big clubs went for. You'd get likes of Inter v Chelsea which was massive, but now I dont even recall who are the Europa Cup holders!!!
  4. Thank you for that! My thoughts exactly but I could add a few pages!
  5. Did ok last season but started shaky this season - but then again the whole team did! We need as much players as possible and if it means not having McCulluch in defence and keeping him upfront where he should be then Goian is welcome back.
  6. Him and Kyle upfront in training shouldnt cause too many defenders a problem
  7. This is what we need to do in January, bring in a few talented youngsters.
  8. Its refreshing to be away from the bile in the SPL. SFL needs to bide its time and stick to their guns with their proposal....Rangers are a member and we are the major attraction. SPL will have to give in eventually.
  9. Clattenburg is a bit of a ham but deserves to get on with his daily job...he will now be made to look unfair at every game he refs now....poor chap. There was a conspiracy behind this.... It detrailed the John Terry issue very quickly.... I hope its 0-0 on Sunday
  10. But Mols didnt instigate anything....whoever did should be the person to be pissed of at.
  11. They expect Guardiola to take over....yet he was handed Messi, Xavi and Iniesta on a plate...I could win the CL with them on my team. The more Chelsea start to go down hill the better.....
  12. Yeah better goal for me also. Trevor Sinclairs overhead kick is the best. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3q0ANjqm0YY
  13. Chelsea are a joke....now they lost their spine in Terry, Fat Frank and Drogba they are getting found out. They had a kind run of fixtures in first 8 games and got points on the board, now they are found out. I hope they keep sinking......wanker of a owner. Di Matteo was a legend of a player....this is a feeble (sp) excuse for a sacking. Benetiz...haha....Man City on Sunday...I hope its 0-0
  14. That should be Chelsea and City out at group stages. Would be handy to have them both in the Thursday Night Cup but can only see chelsea going into that. Can actually see Celtic go through, I think they will in their last game and Benfica wont win at Barca. Would be nice if Benfica did and Celtic entered the Thursday night cup also.
  15. Feckin Bolton!!! Cost me yesterday!
  16. Indeed!!! Everton was a shocker.
  17. Arsenal 5-2 Spurs for 2nd season in a row....wish i had a sly fish on that! Different game though. Spurs 1 up and fell. Arsenal needed that to lift them then got going. Weird how that made them lift. were they scared??? But after that it was sublime. The 4th goal was what Arsenal are all about. Now for a winning run.....watch this space, here come the Gooons
  18. Its currently the BPL B standing for Barclays of course.
  19. 3 games
  20. Got to give you that one! Well done. Another International - 27 Caps for N Ireland. Cant believe he plays for Olympiacos at the moment.
  21. Billy Thomson! Good shout. As is Brown who Laudrup11 just mentioned. Thompson - 3 Scotland caps. Quality keeper for Dundee utd in the 80s during their UEFA cup run.
  22. Yeah late late teens sound about right Seventeen + Sixteen. Nicky Walker is one I forgot.
  23. Many of them internationals as well. Chris Woods - 43 England Caps. Bonni Ginzburg - 68 Israel Caps. Andy Goram - 43 Scotland Caps. Theo Snelders - 1 Holland Cap. Andy Dibble - 3 Wales Caps. Antti Niemi - 67 Finland Caps. Lionel Charbonnier - 1 France Cap. Stefan Klos - 2 Germany Caps (Olympics) Thomas Myhre - 56 Norway Caps Jesper Christensen - 11 Denmark Caps Ronald Watterreus - 7 Holland Caps Allan McGregor - 26 Scotland Caps Lionel Letizi - 4 France Caps Neil Alexander - 3 Scotland Caps
  24. As there was a mention about keepers in the marathon McCoist thread, got me starting to think of all the keepers we've had that I can recall seeing play. Not necessarily in my lifetime, else Id have added McCloy but I cant recall seeing him play live so I exclude him. This will show some ages of folks. I've maybe missed out 1 or 2 but we've had some top notch keepers. Tried to get them in order. Chris Woods - Understudy to Shilton at England but still a top keeper. Colin Scott - Always remember the blonde hair. Lyndsay Hamilton - Battled it out with Scott as 2nd keeper to Woods. Bonni Ginzburg - Seem to remember him well but he only played a handful of games. Andy Goram - The Goalie! Up there with the best in the world at his peak for me. Ally Maxwell - Bit of a bombscare at times. Theo Snelders - Aberdeen got the best out of him when he replaced Leighton but still a handy 2nd keeper. Andy Dibble - Was an emergency signing for an old firm title decider which we won! Antti Niemi - Under rated! Absolute top keeper on his day. Did well with Rangers, Hearts and Fulham. Lionel Charbonnier - French world cup squad winner signed in 98 then got injured....and replaced by... Stefan Klos - Der Goalie. World Class keeper up there with Goram for me! Shame he got injured and never won his place back. Thomas Myhre - Norweigan international was another emergency signing who played a handful of games. Jesper Christensen - Danish international who didnt feature much. Ronald Watterreus - Came in for Klos and kept his place. Half decent keeper but Klos should have regained the No.1 after injury. Allan McGregor - Most improved player ever to wear a Rangers shirt. Went from being promising to top class. Still baffled Man Utd or another top English team didnt come in for him. Lionel Letizi - Bit of a butter fingers kind of keeper and was out quite promptly. Neil Alexander - Like Niemi was, a quality back up keeper to have who is now current No.1 and will probably go down in history as a legend in his own way if he remains there while we work our way back up the leagues.
  25. I think Letizi pulled up at Charles de Gaulle and was replaced by an impersonator.
