He should never have been sold in Jan 2011, there were others who could have went before him. I think Miller would have been 1 to switch his contract over last summer. But it would be another 12 months before he could kick a ball for us which is the insane thing about signing players on Sept 1st this year then not being able to play them as the window is shut. I still remember taking a train from Rotterdam to Amsterdam and being amazed at how many football facilites I saw, 5-a sides everywhere. The weather isnt an excuse as Holland is as cold as UK, although I do agree to playing more summer football to start with as more youngsters would feel happier to play then rather than freezing. But it didnt stop me or my friends in the 90s, we'd be out in all conditions. Sometimes it takes one club to start the trend, Im sure Ajax set examples for the rest of Holland to follow. This is why our set up with a new start in Div 3 has dissapointed me a bit. We dont have to wait for the Scottish game to make grass root changes, we should be building on Murray park and our own set up by having much more scouts and coaches and aiming for something. Seems the only ambition is to get back into the doom and gloom SPL and hear the CL theme at Ibrox again then everything will be back to normal and accepted....for me id rather see a far stronger platform being built within the club so we are daylight ahead of anyone else in the country and can compete in Europe against the teams we should be beating so there is no Kanaus and Maribor repeats.

Id be disgusted in the SFL should they fall for Doncasters patter. 2 men have ruined the Scottish game at all levels and this will kill it off. The SFL must be in the best positions its been in since 1997 before the SPL breakaway and they want to throw it away? Where is the decision thats best for clubs, players and fans rather than filling money at the top end. As Gisabeers says, all we need to do is not sign any TV deal.

Sorry harley, I know your ties. Its nothing personal or bashing at all....Big Eck was the finest centre halfs you get, up there in a list with Baresi, Adams etc for me. He and Miller restricted Hansen to only 26 Scotland caps. Id rave all day about him as a defender. But as a manager its not happened. Villa have went backwards in the last 5 years since MON left by a country mile. 5th top to 5th bottom? Ive always liked Forest and I hope to see him prove everyone wrong.....its a cracking league that one and its tough.

Always felt McLeish has luck on his side, and he got a lucky escape again yesterday with a last minute leveller at home to Palace. The supporters of the teams he is going to now are not happy with the appointment, thats Villa and Forest fans not happy. He will need to convince a lot of people at Forest

Should add, I swing towards Gav's thoughts, a feel good factor for a few weeks doesnt make you a manager and Eck seemed to get by on that. What a real challenge came he struggled. If I was a Forest Fan id be gutted!!!

Im not sure if any of them are appealing and would improve our team. Would probably take Tom Hateley. Would have taken Russell Anderson a few years ago but not now.

Something a bit fishy about this, seems it was a done deal before O driscol had been sacked, which I dont like to see. McLeish seems to get a feel good factor early and that will help Forest in the coming games but once that wears off they will remain as they are around 10th.

That would be great to see a big crowd of 35000. With the north stand being refurbished I wondered if we'd only get our traditional west stand, but I guess we'll be behind both goals plus most of the main stand.
