I agree RE McCulloch back into midfield. I never thought Id say that again as Ive always said he is a striker, but at 34 his pace has gone and he should now be the holding midfielder. Massive changes needed to the next game to show a few players they arent guarenteed a place everyweek. Unfortunately we cant make too many changes at the back as we dont have the player. If Ally says the performance is unacceptable then he needs to drop people. Id play this next week. :sg: :aa::ec: :lm: :al::hemmings:

Kevin Thomson has joined Hibs and will play for free until the end of the season. Another player who's career fizzled out after leaving Rangers, although he did have an injury or 2. He wasnt a player I rated too much at Rangers, thought him and Ferguson just couldnt click when playing in centre mid.

As much flak as Ally gets I think these two equally deserve criticism. Its not their fault they are in those positions but its plainly obvious they arent assistant manager material. Same as Ally - thanks a million for heling pull what was left of the squad through last year, that wont be forgotten, but that doesnt mean they can sit on the sidelines chewing gum and holding a clipboard while the product on the pitch is depressing.
-
Im so glad Green said on Talksport when asked if McCoists job is safe "Ally will be judged on performances like the rest of us". Well the awful performances are mounting up and its time for Green to stand up and show he is in charge of the football club and make these decisions. It might upset a few people but he's not there to win a popularity competition.
-
Are they players walking onto the pitch and not carrying out Allys instructions? Too many under performers again. I think its plainly obvious now Ally isnt a manager. Walking away or being sacked will never remove his legendary status but he needs to do the decent thing and walk away with his head held high for what he did for the club, but Manager and coach is not his job. That is the worst result of the season for sure. Its worse then the defeat at Stirling. This isnt a one-off situation, we were being beat by East Stiringshire at half time last week at Ibrox and they got pumped 9-1 by Stirling today.

Transfer rumours: Andre Bikey, Bell, Daly, Law, and ... Zaliukas

IMO it has to be 2 years deals to get us up to the top flight with an option of 3rd year deal. The impressive ones can then fight for extended contracts. -
Of all the chances, id say this was his last. Come on Gazza. Hope he finally sorts it out and can make a career back in football as a coach or pundit.

Has there been a more bitter article written of late?

Rangers set to remain bottom tier in 12-12-18 plan
Gribz replied to Steve1872's topic in Rangers Chat
Isnt the fact it failed in Austria and Switzerland proof that it shouldnt even be attempted. And to think Doncaster got a pay rise of 5 figures in the last set of accounts. -
Ive done a quick Annan one, sorry Pete I never seen your reply to Zappa's post asking for one. If you've done one by all means stick it up and remove mine as Ive pretty done a bit of guess work on the defence.

So these donkeys are getting their way. Id imagine our application to join the Blue Square Conference League will be filled up if the vote goes through. -

Now a Mexican under 20 and 23 international is the sort of player that would excite me, as the mexicans are a quality side, very technical and skillful. However I dont have much confidence in Neil Murray. Then again to put another negative side on it any skillful player in the past seems to come then leave pretty quickly like the spanish kid Aaron. Whether that be they arent good enough or if our tactics and style isnt good enough for them is another argument. -

Its 5 players that would strengthen the squad and improve the team but none of them excite me and would fill me with confidence playing in the top flight or against top flight opposition. However being realistic its going to be hard to unearth or attract some gems playing in this league. -
Richard Wilson - Herald - Serious Questions Need Answers

Agreed which is why a 18-12-12 or 20-22 isnt even on the cards. -
He makes team of the season for sure, which is probably this for me: _______________Begovic____________ Zabaleta___Williams___Ivanovic__ Baines ___Cazorla____Felliaini_____Bale______ _____Suarez__Van Persie__Michu______ Yaya Toure would get in my Premier League XI but he hasnt been as good this season. Ivanovic is better at RB but been Chelsea's best defender.

And add in that no Middle Eastern Billionnaire came in, while the other groups who dabbled with taking over probably wouldnt have the club in the position its in now.

As always I listen to this show the next day. CG cant say anything different if the the questions are the same and if there is no resolution on going issues. Liked the dig about Celtic crowds "when we say there is 45000 there is 45000", maybe a bit wrong for a CE to come out with but still a nice comment all the same. He was pretty much bang on with everything he said, he and the club have came strides in the last year. Very interesting and Im happy we are still persuing the ship jumpers. Just wish he named Naismith along with McGregor, Lafferty and Whittaker as I think he was the ring leader. What a cracking comment as well about the fact he paid them a months wages yet when they left during the month they didnt send any money back!!! The one thing I disagreed with is the McCoist argument. For this season I agree with him, yes there was no pre season, no league to play in, no players etc etc....but for the first 6-7 months of the season before that we had a cracking team and despite a good run of games in Oct - Dec in 2011 then Allys tactics then we're still not at the standards expected. Plus there has been no progress this season in performances when we should be getting stronger.
-
Not for me, from the behind angle it looks like a boot going into the player but its accidental all day long. If this is a red card then overhead kicks in the box should be deemed a red card for dangerous play.
-
I see your point and as long as he sticks to facts its all good. Agreed the pipe dream should be kept internally but opening doors to playing in England should be mentined. Ive no problem him mentioning the state of shambolic Scottish Football. Regan and Doncaster have done a great job in ruining it so why not let people down south know. Also agree it should be Traynors job but CG was the vocal one over the last 6-7 months prior to Traynor being appointed so the likes of Keys and Gray will be used to Green at the moment. As such, they both should be doing this interview.
-
I really cant find a criticism in CG at all to date. For as long as I can remember we never had anyone come out and speak out, we just took the shite and fans were always saying we dont have someone fighting our corner....now we do have someone who waited just nicely last year until the dust settled while the club took every wrong decision possible and he gets told to be quiet??? CG is currently marketing the Rangers brand and keeping options open and is not scared to say the truth about the SFA and SPL for what they are, he is getting good exposure so Im all for it. After having David Murray running us into the ground (whom which I was a blind fan of during his time), then the doped up Craig Whyte running us, I wonder what some people want!!! Its obvious no billionnaire Saudi Arabia came in for us and John Brown didnt get his hands on us so lets be happy with what CG is doing.
-
OP is a valid point that I hadnt considered. If the Murray Park was used to its max potential and the management team had done a fresh start in the way we played through the leagues by using the younger ones mixed with the current experienced players then we would only have to add 1 or 2 going through the leagues then by the time the SPL comes around again we'd have a nice pot to spend on good players. We are wasting money on the likes of Kevin Kyle and John Daly regardless if its only signing on fees and wages.

After the Rangers verdict, there should be changes at the top
Gribz replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Whats concerning is the SFL coming out with statements like "we dont know whether we will go with 12-12-18 or invite 2 more clubs to make it 12-12-10-10". The SFL hold so much cards at the moment and should be pushing for what they want. -
Yup and this is with 5 Dundee Derbies in 1 season. And now Dundee are going to be back down next season.
