  1. He isnt everyones cup of tea. But the enthusism of him is as high as it gets. He did a great job with Derby and got them up too early and has always had Forest as 1 of the better sides. One things for sure he would be streets ahead of Ally as a manager. And he has shown how far ahead of McLeish he is. Id take Davies, not as first choice but still think he'd be good. Considering his work rate and desire for Forest (he may be on a mission after leaving 2 seasons ago), imagine how much it would increase managing the team he supports!
  2. I'll tune in somewhere to watch it. Its scary that we go to a town like Elgin and I dont fancy us to win anything more than 1-0. If its poor showing it has to be the final straw.
  3. Messi and Ronaldo are off the planet. Im backing Argentina to win the World Cup next year, I think it will be Messi's tournament as its played in South America. He disppointed in 2010 but so did Maradona in 1982, then at 26 he owned Mexico 86. Messi will be the same - 26.
  4. I think McCoist struggles to gel players on the park with current ones.
  5. Kevin Kyle might go down as the worst signing of all time. He makes Jeffers, Rothen, Ostenstad and Gayle look like legends.
  6. Yeah April 15 works, no rush
  7. Jeez, half of that is bad enough.
  8. Messi scores for the 17th league game in a row, Ronaldo has hit 40 goals this season. Bale's run stopped at Anfield. He has a long road to go to get near those 2.
  9. Glad I only put a tenner on Hibs, Newcastle and Draw at Anfield. Well off! Saturday Middlesboro cost me 350 quid.
  10. I think CG is waiting for the outcome of the shambolic restructure attempt. If it goes to 12-12-18 and we are in the 18 then I think that will trigger CG to make the move down south. Behind the scenes Id say he has got the ball rolling so when and if he is ready he just needs to fill in an application to the conference league. Id love to see it. The SPL and SFA are going backwards at lightning speed. Unless they get sorted out then I cant see why anyone would want to climb up the leagues again to be going to hate filled grounds like Pittodrie, Tannadice, Easter Road etc. I dont think its a moonbeam, id say its a strong possibility. The fact Swansea and soon to be Cardiff are in the premier league has to break any rule that states Scottish clubs cant join also. I can eventually see a british league coming out of this.
  11. Agree with the theory of that but TBH these wee diddy teams are easier on the eye than the majority of clubs. Most of the teams Ive seen in Div 3 have played the ball on the deck and tried to play the game properly, and some of the are only a few years old. Even Ross County are probably the most entertaining in the SPL along with Inverness and both of them were only brought into the league in the last 2 decades. The current structure is actually holding back these type of teams for the gain of the poor standard at the top. Id rather pay to watch Annan, East Stirlingshire (based on their first half performance at Ibrox), Ross County and Inverness than any other SPL side. Only in Scotland does the shite rise to the top and the cream sink to the bottom. Thanks again Mr Doncaster.
  12. TBH that is the only way Id be happy with Ally in charge next season. Bringing in fresh assistants and coaches. Ray Wilkins would do absolute wonders. Even Jimmy Calderwood and Jimmy Nicholl would have better ideas, they are probably an under rated coach and would be far more appealing than Durrant and McDowall.
  13. I said the exact same yesterday and so has another load of fans. Id really like to know if this is his tactics or the players arent listening. If players arent listening then haul the off and make changes to the team while the league is wrapped up. Play Aird, Hemmings, McKay and drop the experienced so called SPL players. Ally's legendary status is in the bank, regardless how he manages a team I cant see anyone having a changed opinion on the 'The Man' McCoist and player McCoist. Actually, the same goes for Charles Green, no more nice guy routine when it comes to Ally...if he isnt delievering the goods on the pitch then make the bold decision for a change.
  14. That would make sense but for the benefit of the other teams he should be looking at less divisions. The one thing he needs to make sure of is getting a strong position in the merging bodies, else if there is a split again the SPL will then have the majority of 24 teams to 18. As its stands 30 to 12 in favour of the SFL should have him in a much stronger position.
  15. About to have a flutter on todays games Hibs v Hearts - home win Millwall v Blackburn - not touching it Newcastle v Stoke - away win at 4/1 very tempting Liverpool v Spurs - away win at 3/1 very tempting but I'll do a draw Man Utd v Chelsea - fancy a draw
  16. Has Longmuir been 'bought'? He was previously the only one of the 3 bodies with common sense and intergrity. But now its "has told them"?? If he sticks to his guns he should be telling the SFL clubs to vote neither.
  17. Gazza looking a lot better in this picture. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/4834047/paul-gascoigne-on-booze-hell-and-rehab.html
  18. There is no need for bed, just keep drinking! Im about to head out and have a brunch somewhere and a spot of car hunting.
  19. But I think everyone is still saying his time is up. Nobody has said he can stay on simply because he is a Rangers legend. At the start of the season if someone had said after 36 games you will win 28 draw 6 and lose 2 we'd maybe say "ok after the last 6 months we've had we'll take that as it means promotion" However as the season has gone on and with seeing whats on display its the performances he's being judged on and its terrible. People can defend him after what happened in the summer but last season was the same when we had McGregor, Boca, Whittaker, Davis, Naismith etc.
  20. Its either that or a 2-6-2 formation. Faure is our only other available defender and Ive never seen him play. But agree with Steve's point at Forest. I cant think of a player McCoist has signed who has improved as a player. They have all went backwards.
  21. Im sure he will retract the words in the morning Pete.
  22. Aye 1 too many bacardi breezers Allan
  23. I agree RE McCulloch back into midfield. I never thought Id say that again as Ive always said he is a striker, but at 34 his pace has gone and he should now be the holding midfielder. Massive changes needed to the next game to show a few players they arent guarenteed a place everyweek. Unfortunately we cant make too many changes at the back as we dont have the player. If Ally says the performance is unacceptable then he needs to drop people. Id play this next week. :sg: :aa::ec: :lm: :al::hemmings:
  24. Kevin Thomson has joined Hibs and will play for free until the end of the season. Another player who's career fizzled out after leaving Rangers, although he did have an injury or 2. He wasnt a player I rated too much at Rangers, thought him and Ferguson just couldnt click when playing in centre mid.
  25. As much flak as Ally gets I think these two equally deserve criticism. Its not their fault they are in those positions but its plainly obvious they arent assistant manager material. Same as Ally - thanks a million for heling pull what was left of the squad through last year, that wont be forgotten, but that doesnt mean they can sit on the sidelines chewing gum and holding a clipboard while the product on the pitch is depressing.
