I fully agree with that.

Ignore them mate. I thought it was a good read even though Ive been Pro-CG since Day 1. I hadnt based my thoughts on CG just for taking over the club and 'saving' us like a lot of fans will assume. I was basing it on what he did last summer and his defence of the club and fighting corners against SPL / SFA and former players who walked. And I just didnt want John Brown getting his hands on the club. Events this week have raised an alarm bell with me though. I have always had a thought in the back of my mind that he is more of a spokes person for someone though, as he doesnt come across too clever at times, yet on other occasions I thought his comments defending the club have been great. Yet since Traynor was appointed he should be the new spokes person but Green is still coming out doing interviews etc like on Talksport regularly. One thing I totally agree on now is we need Ally on board in some capacity because he is Rangers to the core. Despite not being the most talented manager he will look after No.1 first and No.1 in this case is the club and fans. I have no problem if Green makes a buck or 2 (or a few million) so long as it steers the club in the right direction and sets us up for the future. It would be wrong to think Green is doing this for the benefit of the club at break even costs, what business would do that? We'll see what happens in the coming days and weeks.
-
A public disagreement between manager and Chief Ex is the last thing that should be going on. Greens promise is to invest in the team, a bit different to promising to give Ally 10million to spend. Im dubious about Ally buying so many average players and not improving them.
-
I admire Ally defending his team and players but every realist knows its the worst Rangers team because its the worst position Rangers have ever been in, thats reality. Its not the players fault. As he says they were put together in 5-6 days. But thats where lies the problem. In the first few weeks I think we'd have understood poor performances as they had no pre-season or time to gel, despite having about 7 internationals, but it was the opposite...we started the season putting 4 and 5 goals away and then go worse leading up to draws and defeats. And a terrible comment about the hardest championship to win. How can winning a league by 25 points be trickier than winning one on the last day in 1991. Also Title 8 and 9 during 9IAR were much harder! Celtic only lost 1 game throughout No.8 title and gave us a go, then No.9 title was won at Tannadice after losing at home to Motherwell the previous game. That season we won all 4 OF games which made the difference.

Nothing to lose, title wrapped up, Ally will tell the guys to go for it. Papers over cracks though.
-
Coisty letting the shackles off and putting players in correct positions now the league is wrapped up??? Or will it be: _____________Alexander___________ Argyriou - McCulloch - Cribari - Wallace _______________Faure____________ Crawford - Hutton ----- Black ----- Aird _____________Templeton__________

I may just do that, and then get views from others to add / edit it and we can circulate it. The SFL gaining Rangers was the biggest trump card ever. Why the SFL dont have a firmer say is beyond me. The clubs in Div 1 like Partick, Dunfermline (this season excluding), Raith, Hamilton, Falkirk and Livingston are all on potential par with St Johnstone, Kilmarnock and Inverness. The so called big 4 teams who try claim the place as Scotlands No.3 team are all in a mess (Dundee Utd, Hibs, Aberdeen and Hearts). Motherwell have leapfrogged all of them. Hearts show up every 7 years or so and look a threat but fizzle out. Its this reason the SFL should rightly go for and claim the outright governing body position in Scotland and get the game back on track like it was Pre-SPL.
-
Sheffield Utd were and have been a turbulant club before and after Green's 3 years.
-
I agree. Inverness and Motherwell just cant go the full course. Had they been more consistant in 3-4 more games they'd be pushing them.

Souness, McCoist, John Greig, Walter, Gough and Gascoigne were easy to spot. Im thinking Butcher in their also. -
I still feel the SFL are in a much stronger position than they think. Only Dunfermline are in financial trouble but none of the other clubs operate out with their means. The SFL should invite Ross County and St Mirren to the SFL and have its own reconstruction into 16-14. Then they go to a battle v SPL and SFA with FIFA about who represents Scotland in Euro Comps. But the SPL wont be in business in 12 months so the clubs dont have a league to play in.

Gascoigne behind Souness. Is that a plane they are in though? I can see the windows at the right side. -

Ive been a fan of Green since day 1 but this week has raised some alarm bells. I do like his no nonsense and honesty most of the time but this article doesnt sit comfortable with me. I do agree with him about the team though, it is the worst Ive ever seen It could partly be down to the manager not having a clue though. -
When he makes his debut out of position then we dont see him again I'll believe he's signed
-
Its a shake up from top to bottm that is needed. This week feels like 1 step forward 20 steps back. Phase one complete winning Div 3 then the nonsense from Whyte v Green plus off field sackings in Sandaza and Murray. WTF is going on! Ally is right, no fan deserves this now after what we have pulled the club through. If there is fat cats trying to get a sneaky penny out of the club at genuine fans expense then heads should roll.
-
I think with the title wrapped up the players will play with more freedom and we could get a 3-0 win. Had the title not been won id be going for 0-0. Of all the top performances at Hampden in the big open pitch we've had over the years it would be nice to get a good one today to cheer everyone up with the off field stuff taking headlines again this week. Hope there is a decent crowd also, cant see there being 33000 again like the last time we played Queens Park but even 12000 would be a boost for Queens Park

Something new every day from these clowns at the moment. I didnt even know this issue was resolved and thought Green was still pushing for transfer fees.
-
Green would only have himself to blame if he is trying to get Ally the sack. He has said 100 times that he wouldnt sack Ally. That was a mistake from day 1. His most recent interview on Talksport he said Ally will be judged by results like the rest of us, that is what he should have said first time around.

I am not sure why the Semi final draw wasnt made at the same time as the quarters, they usually do this on the same day. I prefer it when they do each draw after each round though. But perhaps they are waiting to see who gets through then the old sticky balls will come out to try make it an El Clasico final. But agree Bayern and Dortmund will have a lot to say about that and I wouldnt bet against 1 or both of them being in the final.
-
I do see that view also, but if nobody fights back then the Scottish game goes even further backwards for the next 3-4 years with this 12-12-18. That is going to go through and it will be stuck there. Even the fans of all clubs dont want it. TV contracts wont get signed with no Rangers so we should make a stronger stance.
-
I cant work out why deals like this cant be agreed and are more based on performance and playing bonuses. Give him a lower basic then he makes more on clean sheets and performances. If we have Bell coming in it gives players an incentive to play and he'll work harder to keep his place. He's been a good servant, was a fine back up to McGregor then cemented his place as No.1 and didnt run away like others at the sign of trouble. Im not convinced Bell will be a top Ibrox keeper. The standard of signings isnt good enough long term but we are in a catch 22 situation imposed by the SPL. The come back may take longer than expected as when we get back to the top flight we're going to have a squad of decent youngsters and average SPL standard players. Thats why our coaching staff needs to be stronger and better to develop players more and get every % of talent out of the experienced players.

Sacking is over the top and as Dan says it was an opportunity to cut him. During the phone call he repeatedly said he wanted to do things properly and not behind Rangers back. He was obviously in a weakened position and is talking in his 2nd language. Players probably get calls like this from real agents else I fail to see how he even spoke back to the club. The caller should get done for fraud. He said a few times he was friends with Willie Mckay?

I was at that Scotland v England game, way too young at the time to remember / appreciate who was on display
