  1. I didnt realise he stayed for a full year but didnt play, thats surprising. Hemdani was a player I liked and rated. I felt him and Ferguson didnt click in the same time as Ferguson was too busy tackling him for 'ma baw'.
  2. I agree, we only need to add a few in to get through this season and strengthen the defence. Likes of Nicky Clark is a good signing as its a no risk. Bell is a potentially good signing. But I dont like signing average SPL players for the sake of a squad if they arent going to put us in a good position in 2 years time when we are top flight. Id imagine the likes of Law and Daly would be on minimum 3 years deals so by the time we are an SPL side again we'll have the likes of them, Shiels, Black etc non of which has worked out well so far and the dont fill me with confidence that they would put us in a strong SPL position. This is why Id prefer to play the younger guys again this season mixed with experienced pro's like McCulloch etc and bring in players like Novo who could do the job. We will be able to attract a higher standard of player when the embargo is lifted and we are in Div 1 as players will know they are less than 12 months from being in the top flight again. Unless we have a better coaching team who could bring the likes of Law and Daly in and improve them and gel them into a team that is playing good football then what is the point. Ally just seems to buy the players then it doesnt look like he is working with them. Even Kyle Hutton has went backwards this season. For me the long term plan and focus has lacked ambition. I get the point we didnt have much of a squad at the start of 2012-13 and no pre-season - so I applaud the players who were there - but overall there was a decline in our play when it should have been the opposite. Players should have gotten to know each other and started to have a better understanding. If we get a couple of signings in and start off great next season it will be papering over the cracks. People will think we have a good team all over a sudden but this will be on the back of players being 'up for' the new season and want to make a point. But there should have been a football philosophy laid down from last season. Its not too late to start it this year and have 2 years at it in Div 2 and 1.
  3. Roster! Got to love the yanks attempts at commentary and comments on football.
  4. Some quality players in that team but it was too flat. 5-4-1 or 4-5-1 with only 1 striker. Plus the 4 midfielders were all central players (Hemdani, Ferguson, Thompson and Davis), we needed more width. Id have rather seen us go for it more and still lose. Just wonder had Cousin not been a clown getting sent off in against Fiorentina would he have made a difference.
  5. only 4 mins of stoppage time and this was 97th min. Why did Leciester have so many players up the park, they seemed to have a lot running back for Watfords break. All they needed was 2 or 3 players up for the pen.
  6. Folks flew in from UK at 4pm, quickly dropped them at my place then headed to Rangers supporters bar. Kick off wasnt until 3am so had to pace ourselves. Bar was full but not overcrowded plus mainly expat couples so a great atmosphere. Plenty barmaids serving drinks to hand rather than queing plus a good lay on of snacks. Game was a let down but still a great occasion.
  7. What Cotter said, only if we could afford him. The defence has been shaky all season and just hasnt seemed to gel. Cribari, Argy and Faure need to improve a lot and stop acting like strangers with each other. They may do that next season with a full pre season in the summer. But Boca's experience and qualities would be a boost next season.
  8. He was the 5th manager they had last year, something not right with that club, but still dont see Gattuso as manager type. Could be 1 year too late the same as Miller but would still take him if he is match fit, he would cruise Div 2. But 1 player who we should be going for is Vladimir Weiss. He is free at the moment unless he takes up the option of his 2nd year at Pescara. He signed a 1 year deal with an 'option' of a 2nd. Templeton on 1 wing, Weiss on the other would appeal to me.
  9. Will be interesting to hear the Man City fans at Reading tonight, they liked Mancini. Half of the Premier League next season could be filled with new managers considering 3 newbies from the Championship.
  10. Its not like they will be able to sign 11 replacements. In a way Id like to have seen McInnes do well after starting his career as promising but not with Aberdeen. That club ruins most of the managers who went there bar Calderwood. Pity McInnes didnt get another Championship side, Bristol City were miles behind a lot of the other teams in the league and were always going to be a tough nut.
  11. Thats nuts!! Also the last day drama was crazy, 2 pens in the last minute at Hull plus Watford keeper doing 2 flaps against Leeds.
  12. Not too sure about that but that would be a bit of karma if true and its again poor from board. I think there will be a long term swing if Mourinho goes to Chelsea with them and City becoming the top 2 for a few years. Hope Im wrong there though.
  13. Im guessing he isnt the most fashionable signing and if he had the name Cammo Bello people might give him more of a chance. TBH I cant recall ever remembering a performance by him when I watched our gamesv Kilmarnock. Im uneasy about signing average SPL players but keepers are a different type of player altogether so I'll wait and see. He surely has to be good enough for Div 2 and 1 anyway.
  14. Think he has been poorly treated though, for a replacement to be sitting in the stands at Wembley is poor. The decent thing would be to walk but he should quite rightly wait until he gets sacked to get a pay off. Mourinho obviously wanted Man Utd job but he might tak the City job now with a point to prove.
  15. Cant give Ferguson enough credit. If Moyes gets the job he will have to stay in it until the year 2041 to surpass Sir Alex, that just shows how long he has been at Old trafford. And that was after his success at Aberdeen. He goes beyond Shankly, Paisley and Busby considering he has made so many teams and even when Chelsea and Man City come in with open cheque books he's won it back. Great comment from Ally by text
  16. There wont be much between the top 20 finalists therefore 19 could be picked up.
  17. The day had to come sometime and I would have backed money on it being this season once he won the title. It was due to be last season had he won the league then. Will feel very strange as everyone has only known the Premiership with him. I used to have a strong dislike for Man Utd but dont mind them now but always liked Fergie. Deserves to enjoy his retirement. Without doubt the best manager of my lifetime and arguably the best of all time. He surpassed Matt Busby for me. Next up Moyes or Mourinho.
  18. Im baffled how we managed to take 3 steps forward and 4 back. Who on the current board is problematic? I can only imagine Walter has the best interests of the club and for him to be on the brink says something. I think we need him temporarily in a higher role with the right guidance. Mather has said about as much as Traynor since getting his position. Too many silent men. Im not saying everything should be publicised but fans are just totally confused when it should be a time when we are moving forward.
  19. Cracking game in store tonight. Pity Chelsea won at Old Trafford on Sunday as if not it would have been a must win for them, now they can afford a draw. Arsenal need Chelsea to get something in this game for a CL spot to be in their hands. Wigan probably got relegated last night losing at home to Swansea. I thought it was there year to go down. Other clubs like Norwich and Newcastle will be saved due to that Result. Unless they win at Arsenal next week Wigan have gone.
  20. How can they possibly release a statement with no details. So who is the leading body? Its nothing more than an attempted takeover due to their desperation to get a TV deal including Rangers. For them to push something / anything over the line before next season says the majority of SPL clubs couldnt sustain another full season without the income Rangers provide. What exactly is the difference other than the play off spot? Really, they got around the table for months trying to push 12-12-18 and it was rejected then 2 weeks later they have saved the game? Its embarrassing. And is Hearts troubles solved all of a sudden? The SPL will wont care about individual clubs so long as they feel safer. They should have taken note from the excitement of the championship in England last weekend. They need 2 auto relegation places from the SPL and the 3rd bottom side goes into the any play off. I dont fully agree with the 2nd bottom side being in a play off, thats not the way it works down south, you are in the relegation spots then you a relegated simple as. The play offs should be between the teams in the Div below. I think Longmuir is a decent person but far too weak and fear he will allow the takeover.
  21. Thats what young player of year awards are for
  22. What a belter from Albertz. Could watch his goal all day. Why isnt he, Numan and Laudrup on the coaching staff. How did Novo look? Could he fit in next season?
  23. Jeez Ally, practically telling the players who will come in they are not good enough for their current club?!!
  24. Gone for Andrew Little. The others were established SPL players and were always going to do well this season. Little was a fringe player 12 months ago and went on to bang in 25 goals and cement a place in the first XI.
  25. Agree and it less risk than buying up current SPL players who wont be any use for when we are back in the top flight.
