Not so sure Lafferty did, he caused more trouble than what was needed!

how do we get the young into football
Gribz replied to foggy dewhurst's topic in General Football Chat
There has to be a good mix and balance. During schoool days we wanted nothing else but to be playing football 3-4 nights a week plus on the weekend but we were still into the old Mega drives and nintendos also, just not to a level where it has hypnotised kids. I would say the government are also responsible as it is part of their agenda to dumb down kids and put them in a trance - easier to control. Some Adults are the same, they are not interested in anything else apart from what time Coronation St and Eastenders is on so what chance to kids have when the adults dont even think for themselves. -
Was going to mention that, they got good figures and the games still had big crowds. But they had the Sheff Wed v Leeds game which was troubled when that idiot ran on the pitch and slapped Chris Kirkland. The odd Friday night game would be ok, I remember going to one in 1994 when we played Aberdeen at Ibrox. It was Coisty'd 300th goal for the club in a 1-0 win. It was a good night out but we had to take afternoon off school and other members on the supporters bus had to get the afternoon off work, so in that sense it isnt ideal. More importantly, it will be good when we are in control or even negotitations regarding our fixtures and not have them decided for the benefit of the SPL.

Think I mentioned before but when I took a train from Amsterdam to Rotterdam I was amazed at the amount of 5-a-side facilites I saw and everyone of them was full of people playing. This was on a cold Feb evening -
Thats pretty much what I thought, I just wondered the differences between them and our situation as its not Hearts as such being insolvent but the company they owe most money to. So when they call in the debt Hearts wont have nothing like the figures needed.
-
That must mean Danny Wilson is not a Hearts player because they havent registered him yet. Craig, how does it work if the company Hearts are owe money to go bust and are insolvent. Will their (Vlad's bank) administrators be calling in all monies due?
-
The collar is awful and ruins it. Doesnt help they picked 3 junkies off the street to model them
-
Danny Wilson hasnt played a good game since he partnered Davie Weir. Not so sure Id want him back at Ibrox. I think we got Hearts best player last year when we signed Templeton.
-
Agreed. I am not sure what they are waiting for TBH as a miracle buyer or bailout doesnt look forth coming. They should be preparing for long term. No OF Derbies, no Edinburgh derbies and no Dundee derbies...how are the SPL going to sell a TV package to SKY? Old skicky balls in the cup draws is likely!
-
Take away their badge and add ours along with a nicer looking sponsor then its not a bad shirt. I quite like it. Im not a fan of collars on football tops but this one isnt bad as its not to big. I was in a shop the other day and picked up a few shirts from last season that were on sale. I tried on AC Milans home, away and third and chose the away top as the collars on the other 2 where too chunky.

Nice early start for some staff.

I assume we are getting nearer to getting the new puma kit being on sale.

The main issue Im baffled about is that the SPL and SFA arent pouncing on them. Last year PRIOR to us going into Admin we were being hounded. Like a lot of other Bears up until 2012 we would probably always have a soft spot for Hearts, and when they have played either Spurs or Liverpool in the past few season before last Ive never wanted another SPL club to do as well in Europe as in those games. Yet their mad owner assisted in sending us down the leagues so the relationship has got a long way to go near building bridges again. Hearts and the other SPL clubs (except Ross County) made their own beds and they can deal with their own problems. I dont wish any bad luck or good luck towards them, what happens, happens. How they go about their business is none of ours. They just have to remember what they wished for (or voted).
-
Didnt Hearts reduce our allocation in the last few seasons anyway? We used to get the full stand behind the goal then they reduced it to 2/3. That was another self inflicted reduction of income.
-
9 others are saying the exact same thing, they just wont admit it. Ross County are an exception as they havent been in the same league as us before. Celtic will get by despite their attendances being doctored.

Sandaza failed so try Haber? No thanks.

Longmuir has taken way too long to get a statement out. While being the only credible and honest member of the 3 men at the top of each body he has been way too weak and quiet, and didnt grab his opportunity months ago. He had the trump card with Rangers being in the SFL for 3 years and has let these sneaks come in the back door and achieve their takeover. It all makes sense now. I think it was Rab who said SFA and SPL have managed to negotiate with SKY to have Rangers away from the SPL for another season (initially it was 1) then the SPL 2 will be in place and a TV deal struck. The season is 6-7 weeks from being underway, they will roll out the fixtures for 12-10-10-10 and plans will be in place for 12-12-18 next year.
-
All I see is the SFL sold out and now we have a takeover leaving Doncaster steering the sinking ship. There is no change structure wise yet but these sneaks will have something up their sleaves to generate money to so called bigger SPL sides. All we can do is get on with it by winning Div 2 this coming season.

How many deadlines to they get!

Kilmarnock part company with manager Kenny Shiels
Gribz replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
Seems a bit harsh. -
A clever man with common sense exposing the fact that its been an attempted take over from day 1 rather than a merger.
-
Good luck to Weir, at the minimum he would be a terrific coach.
-
Why not? He is a footballing person and I personally quite like him. I could bet he is a different person face to face rather than the act he puts on infront of the media. He is more clever than people think, he is not a fan of the manipulative media so he gives them stupid answers which I like.
-
If the position was available today I'd have no problem with Strachan taking over, and he'd be higher up on my realistic preference list than most names that have been mentioned. I actually think in the right circumstances he'd do a better job for us than he did them. A few players now like Miller and Mo Johnston have played for both, there will be a time when a manager has done both also.

You have a crystal ball? I dont think we'll be world beaters all of a sudden but give credit where credit is due....its a good win, end of.
