I see a lot of people commenting about Green's wealth out of the club but if he got the club back in a stable position then I dont care if he took a helicopter to work and lived in a palace. Look over at the other end of Glasgow. Fergus McCann came in and made 10 fold of what he put into Celtic and despite having cretins running their club he put them in good sted and headed back to Canada a pretty rich man!

A fine post!!

I can see Walter maybe taking the reins temporarily or at least having an influence in the decision.
-
Just a pure mess. 2 months ago we were back on the up. Talk about a rug being pulled from the feet. I can only see it being Walter stepping in for a while.
-
Well I liked CG a lot, the way he fought for the club vocally against everyone was the best thing we've had for as long as I can remember. Who knows what the truth is RE Whyte saga but all I can say is why didnt this come out 9 months ago! But if he shafted Whyte then so be it, that man needed shafted! CG couldnt have imagined the bile that comes out of the Scottish media, Im sure we'll hear about it in his book. For some reason I think we'll start to hear more from Traynor now.

The Express: Steaua to tempt Rangersâ?? Dorin Goian
Gribz replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
What Berliner said. Look the part when he first came but looked out his depth at the start of this season, although he may not have been fit. Would be ok if he came back so long as the 16k a week was reduced. -
Green not too keen on Miller - says the Express

Coming to think of it signing experienced players like Miller is better than signing current SPL players. He is every bit as good and wont be on a long term deal so when we do get back to the top flight he is the sort of player who will be trimmed from the squad to be replaced by the next level of standard. Currently signing the likes of Daly from Dundee Utd leaves us with these types of players in the squad which might not be good enough to be near the top of the league -

The article for me is purely to add fuel to the fire about McCoist v Green. People will jump on a bandwagon and say its an excuse to try push Ally out the door. IF and big if, it were true then its not right. Managers should always make the decision about what players come in if it fits in with the budget. As for Miller, we could have got him back January 2012 and that would have been a good signing at the time after losing Jelavic. But in the last 12 months since going to Canada he has lost a yard or 2 of pace and is now looking like he is struggling to get about the park, he looked well short in his last few Scotland matches. He could probably still do a job as he'd still be more mobile than McCulloch. Plus considering we signed Kyle I wouldnt rule this signing out. -
It would be great to be an away fan up there next season. But if they draw Rangers in the cup you can expect the stand to be fully opened. I hope we do another boycott next season also.

They are desperate and needed that vote to go through. There was no way they could just accept the vote, they need a deal to keep some clubs and the league afloat. I dont know why but I can just see them pulling something out of the hat. We need to put all our internal issues aside and not let them live of a TV deal which is funded by Rangers.

Swansea have been a breathe of fresh air in the premier league, unlike a Stoke or Wolves they dont play ugly football or unlike Hull and Blackpool they dont drop like a stone. Im not so sure Cardiff will be the same. Both these teams have crowds of around 23000 per week and sell out plus Swansea are to increase the size of their ground from next season to 34000, just shows if it was Rangers and Celtic the potential would be massive and we'd need a 70000 seater stadium.

This is the power of the media, selling nonsense. Fans wont boycott, any comments I have read from other fans of SPL teams have been saying well done to County and St Mirren. The fans didnt want it! County and St Mirren were spot on to vote they way they wanted, since when do they have to choose to benefit other clubs who have been poorly managed. SPL2 would currently be no different to the current system, it would be in name only. There would be no finance to back it. Yet it would give the SPL body more clubs to have a bigger say but the SFL have the 'only show in town' which is where any deal lies with.
-
I cant work out why chairmen in the SPL and Div1 would feel betrayed, it is a simple choice of opinion and just because others dont agree with their opinion they are acting selfish. Since when should St Mirren vote for what benefits Aberdeen? The SFL meeting will be interesting this week to see if anyone throws the toys out of the pram. But they should be looking to the SPL for blame who didnt go with fans wishes and create a bigger top division which means some of those clubs would have got promotion. It seesm its all about cash for them also even if it means being in the 2nd tier. The SFL have a good chance to tidy up their 3 divisions and turn it into 2 leagues and open it up to regional divisions below that. Once the SPL is ready (and they will due to no TV deal) the top division will have to merge into the system SFL have laid out.
-
I honestly thought Ross County would have been persuaded and pressurised into voting for it, well done them for not giving in. Them and St Mirren obviously the ones with common sense. This set up was absolute garbage and only on the table as a lifeline to the SPL clubs in need of it. The fact they were going to push this through for a season which starts in 3 months shows how desperate they are. There is a system with 18 or 16 in the top flight with at least 2 auto relegation places and play offs for a 3rd of 4th spot which would make games far more meaningful. Talk about karma biting back! But I still think they have plan B in an SPL 2 and will try sneak some Div 1 clubs into this set up. SFL should now set up its own TV deal and go ahead with its own reconstruction.
-
The same away fans who dont want this system? Chris Main must be Doncasters main man. Even if they did get a backlash and no away fans, 34 people not turning up isnt much to worry about
-
Why is it taking so long. Blackmailing. Away to make myself some chicken fajitas, poor a cold beer and shout at the monkeys. When I come back I'll see the result

Great win for Sunderland. Actually think Di Canio will keep them up. It is Stoke who is in free fall. QPR and Reading have gone. Villa and Stokes fate lies with Wigan, if Wigan win games they will stay up and it will be 1 from the other 2 to go down. But I think Wigan will go this season. Id like to see Villa and Stoke go, but more so Stoke, they are just a nuisance. Arsenal flying but made hard work of the Norwich game. Their cup final is Everton tomorrow. Win that and Id say they will be in the champions league. They have 6 games left with the first 5 in London so they should win most. Would like to see everton take 4th but think chelsea will be too strong. The Championship is crazy open. From 10th down could go. Wolves in bad position and id like to see blackburn go also.
-
Blondy would get herself a night out with the Gribz
-
Not just Rangers. What if Queens Park dont get promoted via a play off (if they win). It is a farce
-
How they can even justify it to start next season is another farce. The simple answer is 16 team top league with 3 up 3 down, that gives much more meaning to games.
-
How long does it take to say yes or no? Or are they holding the Ross County chairman up against the wall
-
Jeez an Aberdeen fan has common sense
-
I get that Ian, cheers.
-
Id still want a no also. Nothing changes in a 12 team league except the crazy split starts earlier. A 16 or 18 team leage has to be given a go.
-
Its amazing how close yet how far they can be! Make it 18-12-12 and everyone goes for it!!
