Neil Doncaster: Nine-year TV contract shows I am the real deal
Gribz replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
This make Alan Pardews 8 year contract seen sane. He was given the job 12 hours after his interview but was already booked on a flight to Italy at 4am the next day...just confirmed that it was a fix all along. -
Embarrassing. Appoint a man who is proved to be incompetent in the same role. The only difference this season will be Doncaster is no running 42 clubs rather than 12.
-
Really hope we get Berra. A natural centre half who is tried and trusted. He isnt Richard Gough but will certainly be more than sufficent for the next 3 years.
-
Fantastic player, very under rated. Played in a team of superstars so didnt get the glamour he should have. Now whether he can be a top coach....
-
Gascoigne isnt on it yet if it was on footballing ability he'd be ahead of other English players.
-
Done and put Brazil down as the current Confed Cup holders given that the final is tonight and I think they will pip Spain.
-
Brazil and Spain have only met once in 23 years, it was in a 0-0 friendly in 1999. Its a pretty mouth watering tie. Confed Cup has always been a decent watch since 1997 in France when Bobby Carlos hit that free kick.
-
This should be worth a watch! Potential World Cup Final next summer. Both squads are strong and have taken the tournament serious albeit not in top gear, but there is bragging rights and psychologial advantages at stake. Italy did well against Spain in the semi to hold them to a 0-0, seems the Italians are building a strong squad for next summer and have improved on the Euro Final last year. Uruguay are struggling in the qualifying section but should make it and will be a good side next year. Throw in Argentina, Germany and Holland and we are due a good World Cup.

Its a shame we couldnt get a deal with Boca to stay on lower wages. He is now looking for a new club and may struggle to get a good deal somwhere. It would have been a win win for all had he accepted reduced terms if we offered. A partnership of Boca and Berra would have been strong.
-
Berra is an ideal signing, a very decent centre half. Not exactly what we'd want if we had a champions league campaign coming up, but ideal to get us through Div 2 and 1 plus to compete against SPL clubs in a cup run.

Ramsdens Cup First Round Draw: Albion Rovers v Rangers
Gribz replied to Gribz's topic in Rangers Chat
Sticky balls had to be used. Im glad for the Albion fans they wont miss out but a home tie v Rangers for the 1 side that wont get to play us..... -
Well anyone who quotes Kissenger in that sense doesnt deserve to be debated with.
-
Neither for me. Doncaster has proved he can only make things worse while being smug and incompetant. Longmuir showed to much weakness while the SPL was trying to get a takeover through. He had the trump card of the majority of clubs plus the only show in town, this regardless if the Div 1 sides wanted to join an SPL2 the legal side of things was in black and white than they had to give 3 years notice. A footballing man should be at the helm. Kenny Dalglish would be my choice.

Ramsdens Cup First Round Draw: Albion Rovers v Rangers

Would like to get one of the minnows like Spartans or Threave Rovers. If not Albion as they missed us on the way down or Annan Ath because the chairman sounds like a good bloke. -

It is a nice looking bus but it just shows it is things like this is what separates footballers to the man in the street. They are taken a level above. Davie Cooper used to take the Subway to training. Now I bet even the likes of Steven Smith will travel to Murray Park in nothing less than a 4.2litre 4x4.
-
Agreed Barca72. Making 4 of the 6 board members from Celtic, Aberdeen, Dundee Utd and the SFL Rebel Hamilton is sticking our faces in the pie and rubbing it. Cant think of 4 more clubs who have led the agenda. This was certainly planned in advance.
-
Its all for sporting integrity and the good of the game though!
-
Its all park of Allys tactics, its not going to be used, it will be parked infront of the goalposts
-
The tragedy with that figures is Nike have slaves working in their Cambodian factory for $50 / month making these things for them, and thats one of the better paid jobs. But they can pay 'superstars' millions to wear their logo. Utter sickening.

3rd kit is a belter and will be bought! Home is nice except that rotten collar!!

Scottish / British Transfer talk Summer 2013
Gribz replied to der Berliner's topic in General Football Chat
McGregor could do better than Hull, when you see Liverpool signing Mignolet. But good signing for Steve Bruce. -
Id be happy if we got Berra. Easily good enough for SPL never mind Div2.

John Gow - Rangers have big squad, so what will the starting XI be?
Gribz replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
I think it would be harsh on Andy Little to not be a starter next season. Competition for places is there now and the likes of Hutton, Black and Shiels have it all to do to convince everyone they should play. But Peralta is another who will be pushing for a place. I like Wallace at LB, not sure if he can be a out and out winger....Templeton should be LM for me. I think we should be looking more at 4-3-3 or 3-5-2 this season but the signings of Foster and Smith say that 4 at the back will be played. -
This I agree with. It should have been the worst team ever as per Calscot's argument (CG said this also and got slated but I see his point) but after getting a squad together and being full time with the facilites we have the only thing we should have saw is improvement but the product on the park was awful at times and it wasnt a one off. This would have been understandable early in the season when none of the player knew each other and the squad was wafer thin.
