  1. You were signing it over for the CLUB not just this 'man'. Once again we apologise that the CEO didnt come knocking on your important door. Do one Naismith. Of all the players that left he makes my blood boil the most.
  2. A lot to pick out the article but this stood out. Frustrated yet it was 2 of the SPL clubs who stopped the proposal that was on the table. And playing Rangers 4 times in 1 season will give them more wealth than any TV deal. This could get really messy. Will be interesting to see what happens with Hearts once the season is over.
  3. Best entertainment all season. Hull leading 2-1 get a pen, fans run on pitch thinking its final whistle, penalty missed, cardiff go up the park and get a pen and score to make it 2-2. FInal whistle goes, Watford drawing 1-1 with Leeds had a delay due to injury and they have 15 mins t get a goal, but a goal keeping error means Leeds go 2-1 up. Leicester the outsiders win 3-2 at Forest and Bolton draw 2-2 with Blackpool putting Leicester in the play offs. Peterborough were 2-1 up at Palace and lost 2 late goals to get relegated as Barnsley drew with Huddersfield. Wonder if Alex Ferguson will give new signing Zaha a rollicking for assisting his son going down. Glad Peterborough went down though. Wolves also relegated. What a league!
  4. Amazing stuff. Leceister currently in play off spot after going down 1-0 at Forest they lead 2-1. Bolton were losing 2-0 at home to Blackpool but scored 2 in first half stoppage time. 2-2 at HT. The relegation spot has changed 4 times. Started with Barnsley, then went to Peterboro, then Huddersfield and now Peterboro again.
  5. Play off spot changing. Started off with Bolton, now its Forest but a Leicester goal as it stands sends them in. Brilliant entertainment. Take note SPL.
  6. I dont think we need much for next season, certainly not near 10 million worth. We need the keeper situation sorted whether Bell starts and / or Alexander stays. We need a centre half, ideally Bocanegra. A centre midfielder is needed unless Hutton, Black and Shiels start to play to a higher level. The striker Clark upfront will be a decent signing for this level, throw in Novo and we have a good enough squad to get through the season. The youngster will all be a year older and more experienced and we have 3 or 4 potentially good ones. Id much rather spend low and wisely and keep funds for when we REALLY need it back in the top flight so we dont struggle there.
  7. Cracking end again to the most competitive league in the world. Promotion - Hull and Watford can still get the auto place with Cardiff. Play offs - 1 from Hull and Watford are joined by Brighton. 2 from Palace, Bolton, Forest and Leicester will also go in. Relegation - Hudderfield, Millwall, Sheff Wed, Peterborough, Barnsley and Wolves all fighting to stay up. Wolves need a miracle but the rest all have it in their own hands. About to watch Hull v Cardiff, it could be draw which would open the door for Watford if they beat Leeds. Hope Hull do win though.
  8. I said a few weeks ago I think the real agenda is an SPL 2 and to get the majority of teams swung over to the SPL. They want a takeover not a merger. This is their last throw of the dice. Dirty tricks!! So much for sharing the wealth, they could ruin a few clubs in Div2. But as so many have said, its the same people running it and without Rangers there is no financial gain. Does this solve Hearts issues all of a sudden? I dont think so. They can attempt it if they so long as we avoid them. This keeps Doncaster in the job longer. We shouldnt be going near anything he has his hands in. Longmuir has to start getting tougher, he should have got his finger out 9 months ago! Id rather stay in a 2 division SFL than join SPL2.
  9. This has snuck under the radar a bit! Out of all the threads in Rangers chat that should be in this room, this one should probably be in Rangers chat. Like Craig says, questions have to be asked and answered on this! We're being used here.
  10. If I was a professional or international player and I hadnt made the team of the year in my position id be a little embarrassed. The 4 Gers plays have been our better 4 players for sure.
  11. There would be ways around that IMO.
  12. But if we get them in on a free on he same wages as we'd be paying experienced SPL players it seems a good move to get up the leagues. The last thing I want is more Ian Blacks and Dean Shiels who havent performed at this level. In saying that Novo is the only one id take for sure.
  13. Now Nicky Clark is a player we should be going for and is more appealing than some SPL players. 37 goals at this level is what we need. Put him upfront with Little and he'd get the same again next season.
  14. Stevie Smith? Feck me I forgot he even played for us. He wouldnt get near left back with Wallace currently there so no thanks. Boyd - No thanks. Enough said about him. Miller - Jury is out, I think he could do a job for us though. Novo - Hand down yes.
  15. Another who has realised they made a mistake. McGregor was probably trying to get one over Whyte by leaving but he didnt realise he was penalising the club and the fans.
  16. As Craig mentioned the performances this season deteriorared a lot when it should have been the other way. I could have accepted a woeful start as we only had 6 players and no pre-season, but as the season went on we should have gelled and improved. The other concern I have is the players we are being linked with. SPL players on 3-4 years deals means when we get back up to the SPL we'll be left with a squad which will be average in the SPL. Its not too late to start build for the future in Div 2. We need experienced players like Novo and Miller to mix with what we currently have (McCulloch, Wallace) and keep bringing the youngsters along. That will get us up the leagues at low cost and when we are top of Div 1 - bang - we can then spend the transfer budget on decent quality. They will replace the ageing experienced ones who will be getting on and deals expiring. Another thing is I dont see the players technical ability improving. There is some talent in the squad and the aim should be to improve them. That means better coaching staff. Ive said it 100 times, the thing that could be hampering Ally being a good manager is his backroom staff.
  17. But do you think they will admit that? Do you think that is their reason for fast tracking us? If this was all about them holding their hands up and admitting they were wrong and then re-instating Rangers then you have a point. Then they would compensate us, pay us our money owed, bin the transfer bargo etc then yes we would deserve an apology and a swift return. However this isnt the case at all. This is about their greed and need to be financed / saved. So on that basis Im looking forward to Div 2.
  18. German efficiency! I tipped Bayern last season at the start and they lost the final. I tipped Dortmund at the start this season so they will lose the final. I have been watching the Budesliga for about 5 years now and I could see then that Zee Germans have everything spot on and it was only a matter of time they would start to dominate. The National side in the 2006 World cup started a new way of football and in 2010 they were by far the best side to watch in South Africa but Spain were at their peak. Looking forward to the final. I hope both sets of fans sing "footballs coming home"
  19. Another stupidity with the split is on a few occassions some teams have ended up having to travel to some away grounds 3 times while only playing that team once at home. They cant even get the balance right!!
  20. Cracking post / statement!
  21. The split is pointless at the moment as nothing comes of it. Dundee were gone before the split this season. If it were 2 teams going down it would be great games this season as there is nothing between the next 5 teams. The crowds at the games last weeked between the bottom 6 were even more awful than they had been all season as there is nothing to play for, had they been fighting to avoid the 2nd relegation spot there could have been double the attendances. Its all to do with the number relegation places which create more competitiveness and interest.
  22. Im against fast tracking. It saves the asses of the clubs that voted us out yet it could kill off the teams in the lower leagues who dont get a chance to play us next season. Every team in Div 3 has been a breath of fresh air for me in welcoming us to the league, why should we avoid Div2 teams next season to save Aberdeen, Dundee utd and the likes. Current Div 3 teams now have financial edge over Div 2 and possibly some Div 1 clubs now having had bumper pay days, thats unfair. A proper restructure, clubs running within their means and getting rid of crooks like Doncaster and Regan will save Scottish football. But agree on Novo part, would be a good addition.
  23. It doesnt matter if it is 16-10-16 or 14-14-14 or 12-12-18. What is needed is interest and competition. Firstly the 2 things that must happen are 1 overseeing body running the game and the restructure back to 3 leagues. Having 4 is just a joke and has killed the SFL IMO until Rangers got there. Lets take the 12-12-18. To generate interest and competition that means a 2 up / 2 down and a play off for a 3rd place. The interest has to be taken from 3rd place in the SPL downwards. Once we are back in the top flight the league is a 2 way break away anyway between the OF and that race takes care of itself. Let the others battle out the Euro places and relegation. In the lower 2 divisions Div1 will be interesting as there will be a at least 5 clubs going for 3 promotion spots (1 via the play off) and the relegation battle will be the same as SPL. In the lowest div (say 18 teams) you create a English Championship style league where the top 2 go up and the next 4 places battle it out for the final play off spot versus the 3rd bottom side in the middle tier. That keeps interest going for most of the 18 teams. The bottom 1 or 2 teams of this league has a play off against a junior side to keep their place in the SFL.
  24. Just wonder if the team can put on a deserving show. It is well overdue!!!
  25. Id like to see an all German final. Would probably be the first top good game the new Wembley has had. I think it would be a terrific spectacle seeing around 70000 Germans there (20000 tickets for fat cats no doubt).
