  1. Or boycott a cup match! But personally if I was still a ST holder I wouldn't be handing it back over a clash of personalities and squabbles. They must start being man enough to get these problems sorted out.
  2. The answer is a straight No for delivering on the park. But if you want to break it down you have to access Ally's full time in charge to date. In 2011 he raced into a big lead at the top of the SPL but was this down to him being a good manager or inheriting a good squad in the same way as Alex McLeish did? That's another debate. Id say it was a cross between the feel good factor of being a new manager, players wanting to impress and mostly inheriting the squad he did. Last year was the most difficult circumstances at the start with no squad. Eventually we got a squad easily the best in the division. Therefore I could expect a gelling in period with a few rusty performances, but as the season went on we got worse and had a few shocking results while playing some ugly football. Furthermore, plan B didn't exist when things were going wrong. Tactics, selections are all another debate. Season 3 - judgement time. So far, played 2: won 1 and lost 1 yet the defeat was shambolic. The excuse of not playing new signings is a terrible one considering we still fielded some full time internationals. What concerns me is Ally signing 8 new players and just throwing them onto the pitch picking up wins simply because we have a better standard of player than the opposition. I have yet to see anything from Ally that suggests he is good tactically. He has gathered too many of the worst results and performances in club history. At the same time nothing on the pitch looks like its going in the right direction. Compare that to a game I know Craig will remember under Paul Le Guen v Dundee Utd at Ibrox. We were down 0-2 which ended 2-2 yet it was going on 8-2. At least something on the pitch was looking promising even though it did end sour (another different debate). Its a bit like Liverpool fans last season, they weren't winning but could see what Rodgers was trying to do for the future.... But who knows...come September when new signings can all feature the opinions can change and Ally could be a hero again!
  3. Personally I wish people just wouldn't respond to posts if they have a problem with the subject unless they actually debate the point rather than just saying someone is wrong because its not of their opinion. Gersnet has always prided itself on debate with respecting others opinions. Rather than moaning about a topic / post just leave it blank and if its as bad as people make out then the amount of replies in the thread will say more than any individual reply.
  4. There are fans (myself included) who care as much about on the field issues as off the field. Nobody is saying one is not as important as the other, but its clearly easier to see the problems on the pitch than off it.
  5. Brown MAY be right on a few issues and may know more / he may know less. But he loses credibility all the time with the way he speaks out like the hard man. If people think CG is poor at public speaking then if John Brown gets into Ibrox one day it will be awful.
  6. To be fair I didn't see this as Ally bashing, I saw it as the point that I think SC meant - Ally got a budget and has spent this summer - so if there is danger of admin again then why spend? Its an emotional time again to be a Bear so there will be reactions from all angles. I personally think John Brown needs to keep quiet....I don't understand how its ok for one side of the fence to be so vocal but not the other.
  7. Agree, and how much of that is true! Loads of it is opinions and spin offs coming from all angles. Precisely why I read my Gers news / info on this site only.
  8. Yeah but Werder Bremen are the Aberdeen of German football. If it was Bayern Munich then Id raise an eyebrow.
  9. That's why I said Green saying it publically was the mistake. But if Ally had said "our aim to win the league first and foremost then we'll give as good as we get in the cups" I wouldn't see that arrogant at all. Its just being realistic. Down south in the English Premier you get the big clubs saying they are going to try win the 4 trophies they enter. Else what is the point of taking part? You aim for something and have season expectations. Likes of Cardiff will be saying, finishing above 18th in the league is their aim!
  10. "Steak Pie or Mince Pie?"
  11. He was also let go as a player 6 months to early.
  12. Great point. And TBH who didn't agree with Green's comments? The mistake was saying them publically. If Ally had said the same thing that we were going after the league and a cup then everyone would have said that's exactly what we should be going after.
  13. Walter has got nothing to lose at the moment and he was good at raising his voice and commanding respect in the dressing room, so why isn't he doing it at board room level to start putting a few people in their places??...especially if he is going to walk soon! He has the fans backing knowing he will always do what is best for the club.

    Who ?

Ive said since day 1 Ally is ruining his managerial career by not having better coaches and assistants around him.
  15. Not sure who was saying that but if away to Forfar is considered a tough match where does the future lie?!! But if we don't see progression on the team in the next 6 matches then Ally shouldn't continue. Im hearing people say it was difficult windy conditions but people forget players switch around at half time therefore the opposition have the same conditions.
  16. Stirling and Annan were probably worse. But Ally is building up a folio of shockers.
  17. I think the biggest thing is some people including myself are not surprised with the result. It shows these results aren't a 1 off as we had a number of them last season. The odd disastrous result is acceptable so long as its a one-off but after a full pre-season this team should have be more than capable of progressing into the next round. So much talk for a possible OF cup draw this season, we are helping that not to be possible. We'll be out of both cups by the time the SPL sides enter.

    Who ?

Kevin Keegan / Ray Wilkins Jimmy Calderwood / Jimmy Nicholl Brian Laudrup / Richard Gough / Ron De Boer
  19. Ive always said the off field stuff and on field stuff cant be compared. Not with the budget we have and our overall set up. The majority of the squad are not only supposed SPL standard but some have international caps. If they cant show their ability to defeat part time sides then they should be looking at themselves and the manager has a job to do. It has to come to a head now. Either a takeover is in the bag to remove the Green era and allow Ally to continue or Green will finally get his way and Ally will be away. Despite Green keeping McCoist in the job I think its obvious he didn't want him in charge from day 1. For me McCoist's time as manager has come to an end. I think he deserves a statue outside Ibrox 1 day for his playing days and sticking by the club in the last 24 months. But as a manager he doesn't cut it.
  20. TBH the time between Green leaving and Green coming back was the period I had no clue about what was going on. Walter stated he wasn't chairman material and the CE changed hands. There was too much silence for me. I agree with pretty much everything else BF says except people are only interested in lining their bank balances. That may be the case for some, but some are in it to make a success at the same time. Im happy with Green returning, ok so he told a few 'Whyte Lies' to get CW away but that could prove a good move. So long as the club gets steered in the right direction personal opinions of people are put aside for me, its all about doing whats best for Rangers. Oh and Ferguson to manage Rangers one day? He needs to go learn his trade and we'll see on that one.
  21. It must have been fairly windy when some of them got their photo taken, especially Aird and McKay.
  22. Roger that! I was going to step in as I will last minute if no preview is up the day of the game.
  23. Im assuming the rules are different down south, but the FA are certainly neutral when it comes to clubs. I don't think the fact that they went into Liquidation 1 day before the season starts had anything to do with it but it would have screwed up the fixture lists. And no thanks to Fleck btw.
  24. Where would they be switching it to? Not exactly a lot of nearby options.
  25. If Novo cant be capable of playing Div 2 football then yes he must be finished. But surely he is better than that if he is only 34 now???
