I can slightly see where you are coming from in being classy. And had we still been an SPL side then yes I would lean towards that. Also if this was a pre season tournament invited by some other team then yes we can play them. But "bail us out" come on!!! This pre-season Hearts, who do we bail out next year???
-
This would be a huge kick in the teeth for our supporters who stuck by and got us through the last 12 months to go and assist a club who were partly to blame for where we ended up. I dont wish this situation on Hearts but we arent there to help them. I dont wish them good or bad in the coming months. They deal with it themselves. They are where they are. Talk about a boycott against SPL sides last season and 100 or so went to Tannadice, this would surely have to merit a full boycott from every bear globally. Id have no problem playing Hearts in a pre-season tournament overseas but not at Tynecastle where the purpose is to fund their problems. Why dont they ask the SPL to send a SPL select XI from the other clubs.

Used to love subbuteo as a kid. Pretty sure I still have a set in my folks loft along with a stack of teams. I remember Id even use the orange ball in winter....something professionals cant even do now if there is a sniff of snow.

Ive not been to Ibrox for quite a few years now but painting only covers up the cracks. Small and slow renovations could be done given we are in the lower tiers. Agree the seats need to be all same shade of blue or maybe add some white and red seats onto a stand. I think the Struth Stand and Club deck would look good with each tier having red / white / blue. I agree with Calscot, there could be an opportunity to try safe standing areas, perhaps in the Govan east corner or the east enclosure.

He could throw in the shirt he wore, it may increase the bid a bit. Or did he swap it for a Liverpool player in which he will keep it himself.

Scottish / British Transfer talk Summer 2013
Gribz replied to der Berliner's topic in General Football Chat
Liverpool certainly been the most active so far. Signed Toure, Mignolet, Alberto and Aspas so far. This will give them more depth but I still cant see them being top 4 this season. Will be interesting to see what David Moyes does. And Arsenal will sign a few players, hopefully Higuian is signed up. -
Should the Rangers manager's salary be performance related ?
Gribz replied to RANGERRAB's topic in Rangers Chat
Pretty sure Ally worked without a wage for a while. Also Ally is putting himself at risk, any manager who fails to get Rangers out of Div 3, 2 and 1 at the first attempt wouldnt deserve another job in football. Im expecting a lot more this season. A full pre-season and 6 or 7 new players means no excuses. -
Foster would be a decent addition. Another who should stroll Div 2 and 1. Two year deal would be right as well as I am hoping for much higher standard of signing when back in the top flight. Hemmings just wasnt meant to be for Gers. A promising player who did well out on loan but injured most of the time. I think he'll do well for likes of Kilmarnock / Motherwell.

I thought it was the same 3 modelling them! Its the collar again ruining it.
-
Agree but Dunfermline didnt get a vote on us did they? as they were already relegated?? Although they were vocal at the time.
-
Can see a big following from Ulster to the Stranraer away game. Its just a par 5 for them then no need to travel further. Cracking day out for our Norn Iron compadres! Airdrie will be our derby opponents this season.
-
Of course it could make it more competitive. If you were Stenhousemuir in the middle tier of 3 leagues as opposed to 3rd tier out of 4 wouldnt you be thinking 'hey a good run and promotion see's us getting into the top league'. All clubs would have the same chance.
-
Thats not bad TBH but again the collar isnt right.

On another thread we are discussing too many clubs. 6 trips to Angus says it all. Get Brechin, Arbroath, Forfar and Montrose to merge and you have Angus Utd. Looking forward to playing these teams rather than the garbage in the SPL. Dunfermline should be interesting.

Too many clubs to achieve an entertaining level of football, for many reasons. The population is one thing, meaning clubs in the lower leagues have an average attendance of 500. If there was less clubs then crowds would naturally be bigger meaning more income and producing a better standard. However it isnt so much the number of clubs for me, its the number of divisions. 2 or 3 would be a better set up making it more competitive. Other factors are weather, I think playing in the summer would give a better product.

And one player who wont be coming back this summer:

What are they thinking! Trying to get Pardew to quit by the looks of things. Kinnear brought in as Director Of Football with Pardew not even knowing about it. He will take charge of signing and selling players but says he wont affect Pardews job as he wont be picking the team. Yet Pardew currently decides who gets signed or sold. He is either making a mockery of the club or has lost the plot: During the 15-minute interview, Kinnear: â?¢Refused to accept criticism of his credentials, saying he could "open the door to any manager in the world". â?¢Said he wasn't a threat to manager Alan Pardew. â?¢Said he had won three manager of the year awards, when he actually won one at Wimbledon in 1994. â?¢Incorrectly said he had signed goalkeeper Tim Krul, who was brought to the club by Graeme Souness in 2005 . â?¢Mispronounced several players' names, including calling Newcastle managing director Derek Llambias "Lambazi", Yohan Cabaye "Yohan Cabab" and Shola Ameobi "Shola Amamobi". Also said he has never been relegated as a manager but did get relegated with Luton in 2003. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22947908

Thank you Admin I quite like a bit of footie chat and if people can see there is some good threads in here then it could get some more posts and topics.

Can this thread be moved away from RANGERS CHAT? This involves a club who arent even in our league. The SPL is melting away though. The situation is what it is. I wish nothing towards Hearts either good nor bad. They have nothing to do with us and made their own decisions. 2 years ago id have hoped they pulled through.
-
Best case is they will start the season 15 points down. Worst case is they lose all their players with 15 points down and play the youths then they are down and we will meet them in Div 1 the following season which gives them a 'pick me up' due to a) Rangers supporters at Tynecastle twice and b) The TVs will want a piece of that.

Not so sure Lafferty did, he caused more trouble than what was needed!

how do we get the young into football
Gribz replied to foggy dewhurst's topic in General Football Chat
There has to be a good mix and balance. During schoool days we wanted nothing else but to be playing football 3-4 nights a week plus on the weekend but we were still into the old Mega drives and nintendos also, just not to a level where it has hypnotised kids. I would say the government are also responsible as it is part of their agenda to dumb down kids and put them in a trance - easier to control. Some Adults are the same, they are not interested in anything else apart from what time Coronation St and Eastenders is on so what chance to kids have when the adults dont even think for themselves. -
Was going to mention that, they got good figures and the games still had big crowds. But they had the Sheff Wed v Leeds game which was troubled when that idiot ran on the pitch and slapped Chris Kirkland. The odd Friday night game would be ok, I remember going to one in 1994 when we played Aberdeen at Ibrox. It was Coisty'd 300th goal for the club in a 1-0 win. It was a good night out but we had to take afternoon off school and other members on the supporters bus had to get the afternoon off work, so in that sense it isnt ideal. More importantly, it will be good when we are in control or even negotitations regarding our fixtures and not have them decided for the benefit of the SPL.

Think I mentioned before but when I took a train from Amsterdam to Rotterdam I was amazed at the amount of 5-a-side facilites I saw and everyone of them was full of people playing. This was on a cold Feb evening -
Thats pretty much what I thought, I just wondered the differences between them and our situation as its not Hearts as such being insolvent but the company they owe most money to. So when they call in the debt Hearts wont have nothing like the figures needed.
