  1. Sagna played RB on Saturday. Gnabry came on so I think its him. I don't rate Jenkinson either, plus he was a Charlton first teamer.
  2. I fully agree with the OP. It may have been a bit premature to expect it last season considering we started the season with 6 players, but we got through it and this season we have a big squad and it was still early enough to start a new footballing philosophy. I think this could also have been done while still winning the league at a canter. The mentality just seems to be win the league only. Nothing wrong with that but I do agree we are missing out on a chance to start afresh something new.
  3. City error in last minute to gift Chelsea 3 points. City and Utd both lost a 3rd of their games so far. They cant afford much more defeats, it may be wide open at the moment but Arsenal and Chelsea don't look like they are going to lose many games. Cracking league at the moment with Everton, Spurs, Liverpool and Southampton all up there. Id like to see Everton and Southampton last the pace. David Moyes has been trying for years to get Everton above Man Utd, he's finally done it
  4. Nope but I'll be watching Chelsea v City Im going for a draw.

    100% record

How long does everyone think we can keep going with the winning streak? That's played 10 won 10. At this rate the league will be mathematically over very early. Our next 3 leagues games - Dunfermline, Airdrie and Forfar ALL at Ibrox so Id be expecting it to be played 13 won 13 after these matches. Progress in 2 cups should also be made in the next 6 days with a Ramsdens Cup semi-final against Stenhousemuir this week and Scottish Cup match at home to Airdrie next weekend.
  6. Barca's front 5 is just lethal. Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas, Messi and Neymar. Looking at Real's team, Modric is a good player but how could they let Ozil go before Modric.
  7. Liverpool still going strong. Their front 2 are as good as anything around at the moment and Suarez gets better by the week. Only Man City have probably got a better forward in Aguero but there isn't much in it. Arsenal should go back in for Suarez again but lift the amount to 50 million. Chelsea could be done with him as well. I still think Liverpool don't have enough quality in the squad to win the league. But next weeks match at Emirates is tasty.
  8. Fabregas and Ashley Cole would be the top 2 for starters. I know Fabregas came from Barca originally but he was still an Arsenal youth around 15 or 16 so it was Wenger who brought him on. Gibbs is now first choice LB and Gnabry is another Wenger gem. England and Arsenal have been lucky at LB. Its a position they have been blessed with over the years since Samson and Pearce and Le Saux. Nigel Winterburn didn't get a sniff for England but should have had 50 caps. Now they have Cole, Baines, Shaw at Southampton and Gibbs.
  9. Yep 15 points adrift with about a third of the season gone. Its a banker we'll be meeting Hearts next season. How lucky can they get! They get relegated and end up getting 4 matches v Rangers.
  10. Watched this live last night and Man Utd were lucky. Stoke could have easily won that. Much better teams than Stoke will pc up points at Old Trafford this season like West Brom and Southampton did.
  11. Man Utd 3-2 against Stoke but very lucky to be so. Papering over cracks.
  12. Stoke leading 2-1 and deserved so. The 2nd goal was a belter of a hit. Utd are absolutely awful. Midfield and defence is shambolic
  13. Bought the book this morning, surprised it was in the shops here so quickly.
  14. That's it fixed now mate....Stoke are 1-0 at old Trafford. Man U started ok but a collapse at the back let Stoke break and Crouch tapped it in
  15. 2-0 to the Arsenal. Palace were very spirited and played well but their season always started next week after this game. 5 points clear before the others kick a ball. The Chelsea v Man City game tomorrow is interesting, if there is a loser then a gap opens up for the gooners, if its a draw then a slight gap on both. Season starts now for Arsenal though....their next 4 fixtures: Chelsea (cup), Liverpool, Dortmund, Man Utd.
  16. 1-0 to the Arsenal. Gifted a penalty at the start of the 2nd half....should just see it out now maybe add another and enjoy the afternoon at the top of the table while everyone else plays
  17. Agree to disagree. Giggs still has a wonderful touch and eye for a pass. 2 seasons ago I remember 2 match winning assists at Blackpool and Fulham that were sublime. Carrick is a good midfielder to sit and spray passes but he doesn't tackle well enough or get forward enough. Aside from Man U Im watching Arsenal right now, and Palace are putting up a good fight.
  18. I don't think anyone has said they rated Hemdani more than Ferguson or rated Hemdani and not Ferguson. I think the point some of us are saying we admire how Hemdani went about his game and just did the job in hand while Ferguson tried to take over. That's more about Barry the person than the player. Personally I think the 2 of them together should have been a midfield partnership that was remembered much more.
  19. Id say 2 players would sort their midfield out so long as they were as good as Fabregas and Snieder. If they had those 2 then Carrick, Kagawa, Januzaj and Giggs would be good subs plus Fellaini if he can fit in right. I don't rate Cleverly or Anderson. I know Giggs is 40 but he is still class when he is on the park. Upfront they are sorted with Rooney, RVP, Chicharito and Welbeck. At the back is going to be a problem for them also as Rio and Vidic are coming to the end of their careers, Vidic is still young but injury prone now. So Moyes has to get Jones and Smalling to for fill potential but Evans is probably ther best centre half at the moment.
  20. I was thinking about that during my last post but Hearts currently have a bit of a youthful squad while we have had a full transfer window so id fully expect to have more than enough for Hearts. I think other Championship sides would cause us more problems than Hearts as some teams I that league are 2 steps above what we have this season, plus we have some scores to settle with some of them (likes of Hamilton) so they will raise their game much more.
  21. We should be starting our scouting now for being back in the SPL, trying to unearth a few young gems who will be at the right age come the summer of 2015 (which is less only 18 months away if all goes to plan). It may also be unrealistic to win the SPL title in the first season we are back in it, Id be aiming for a 2nd spot to start with and depending on the team at the time then I'll decide if we should be winning it or not. Of course we should always be aiming to get our No.1 spot back but I am realistic to think that may take 1-2 seasons considering Celtic are being showered with CL money for the time we are away.
  22. Its obvious he wanted and thought he was getting the Man U job before the Chelsea job was even available. I agree RE the squads. Ferguson was like a 12th man for the and their midfield lacks 2 quality players, where Chelsea have more than that. Utd are desperate for a Fabregas, Snieder etc. I also think they need a winger as I don't rate Ashley Young, Nani does it 1 out of 5 games and Valencia isn't deadly enough when in the box. As for Chelsea I still think Mourinho doesn't know his best balance or XI, and that's normal with the players they have. I was just listening to the preview for the Man City game. City have their system sorted and can swap players in and out. Chelsea's XI isn't as easy to pick and don't have a consistent striker like Aguero. They should have broke the bank for a Falcao, Cavani or even Suarez. If they had 1 of them they would be pretty much sorted.
  23. Precisely why he didn't show enough courage to do his job. All those clubs were legally bound to give 3 years notice to leave the SFL, so their own interests were irrelevant. If he was then undermined doing his job then he wouldn't have looked bad in the public eye, only the corrupt bosses at the top who were doing the blackmailing would have looked bad and Longmuir would have left with dignity.
  24. Fantastic player in first spell 1999-2003. But I liked the earlier comment about his ability being enhanced with the team he was in, I think Id have even had a number of good games playing in that team, but fair play to him to took his chance. I was at the Porto game in 2005 when he came back both he and Buffel ran the show that night. But then he got greedy and thought he was Mr Rangers - it was that for me that ruined Ferguson the player. He then started to tackle his own players for the ball and he wanted to do everything....it made Hemdani's game look bad when those 2 should have been better together. Hemdani was a player I rated who had as good a passing ability as Ive seen at Ibrox.
  25. With hindsight I don't think he should have thrown money at it. He did always say he will spend the right amount on the right player and did so with Ozil. He was building this team up to a certain level before splashing the cash. This summer nobody key left for the first time and that's as important as bringing in the new signings as they don't have that feeling of a player going to another rival. The signing of Flamini has been as important as Ozil, its brought that steel infront of the back 4 that has been lacking for a few years.
